June_23rd bulletin - St. Brendan the Navigator
The Navigator
El Navegante
We welcome all to join us in being like Jesus Christ to our world.
Damos la bienvenida a todos a unirse a nosotros en ser como Jesucristo a nuestro mundo.
Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time
June 23, 2013
“Let all the earth cry out to
God with joy”
Ps 66
With great joy, every member of St Brendan’s parish cries out to
God this day. It is now, just 13 years after our founding as a
parish in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, that we have paid the last of
our debt for building our church. Heaven will surely hear our
cries as we prayerfully realize the impact of this moment. Being
debt free at this time, when the economy is accelerating, when the
future looks brighter than it has in years, and yet at the same time,
when the needs of our community seem more ominous than at
any time previous, we, the parish of St Brendan the Navigator
have the wherewithal to focus on the future without the burden of
debt over our heads. How great that feeling, how joyous and full
of God’s love are we!
Wednesday Evening - July 3, 2013
Including: Rosary, Adoration, Mass,
Dinner, Music and our Featured
Guest Speaker: Retired US Army Lt.
Gen. John E. Miller. Evening events
start at 5:00 pm – please see the
website for event times and
additional information.
Let’s begin this time of joyous celebration with a full gathering of
our faithful at morning Mass on July 4th, followed by prayers and
talks of thankfulness and gratitude by our parish and
Archdiocesan leaders. To assist us in celebrating, we have invited
Order and Archdiocesan leadership to concelebrate Mass, former
priests and pastors to speak to us about the love of Christ shown
through acts of stewardship, and to feast in communion with one
another through a meal served at noon time that day. We are
planning food, fun and games for the whole family, including
Father Matthew’s ice cream stand! For anyone who has
contributed time, talent and/or treasure for the benefit of our
parish debt, this is a time to join in the celebration and raise our
cries of joy to the Lord. Please come and bring your entire family
for the morning events. It’s a great time to celebrate good oldfashioned freedom!

God will not be outdone in generosity. In
Sirach 35, we read “Give to the Most High as he has
given to you, generously, according to your means.
For the Lord is one who always repays, and he will
give back to you sevenfold.” Take a look around our
parish to see the realization of this in our midst. Our
parking lot and pews are full; our VBS program is at
capacity; teens are busy with LifeTeen and Edge
summer camps; we worship and pray and adore our
Lord; our hearts are filled with the goodness of God.
Are you participating in our Capital Campaign?
There is still time! You have nothing to lose, and
everything to gain.
THIS Summer would be a great time to resolve to
commit to daily Mass, at least for an additional
day through the week, or take up a regular holy
hour to spend with the Lord in adoration (Tuesday
evening - Wednesday evening.) Let's start
together to create a real plan to draw nearer to
the Lord. It's what we're made for, so give it a try,
won’t you?
