The theme for December’s Students of
the Month was Generosity. The winners
were Alaura Liddell, Marissa Brundage,
and Sheslly Zamora.
Previous winners of Student of the
Month have been Hernan Vera, Jessica
Working, Katy DeVorem Ashli Roberts,
Francisco Nunez, Cheyenne McKenney,
Erica Goodwin, Orayda Campos, and
Molly Creason.
CANNED FOOD DRIVE
Students in Ms. Eakin’s Advisory class
enjoy root beer floats as a reward for
bringing in the most donations for the
annual IHS Canned Food Drive.
Students in Mrs. Miller’s Advisory won
for the high school level, and they enjoyed banana splits for their effort.
The canned food drive produced over
1,000 items which were donated to
the Irrigon Fire Department for their
holiday food basket program.
Dillon Aylett is the winner of the jar of
M&Ms. Dillon guessed the jar contained
7,400 M&Ms—short by only 21; the number
in the jar was 7,421. Only those students
who maintained perfect attendance in December were allowed to submit a guess.
FAFSA PREP
The FAFSA is available every year in December. It needs to be completed either on
paper or on the Internet and submitted as
soon as possible after January 1st (which is
the first date they will be accepted). January 31st is the “priority” deadline. Failure to
have the application in by January 31st may
result in you not receiving all the financial
aid for which you are eligible. The FAFSA
should be resubmitted each year for which
you plan to attend college.
To file you will need records of income
earned in the year prior to when you will
start school. You may also need records of
your parent’s income information if you are
a dependent student.
