the Organic Trader
Wanted: Certified Cull Cows
Organic Prairie is in need of additional organic cull
cows. We have weekly collection routes covering the
majority of the Midwest as well as monthly routes in
Indiana/Ohio.
The increasing sales of Organic Prairie’s trim-based
products have created a strong demand for these lean
animals, generating an opportunity for dairy producers to become a major part of the beef pool.
Organic Prairie is currently paying 10 cents over the
conventional market for cull cows.
If interested, please call Jeremy Matthes,
ext. 3515 or Sherri Schrofer, ext. 3291,
at 888-444-6455.
Organic Prairie’s Pork Program is
seeking organic hogs in the
Upper Midwest.
We are paying a $1.25/lb.
carcass base price with targeted
premiums.
Contact Jeremy Matthes (888-4446455, ext. 3515 or jeremy.matthes@

unsecured credit.
Four Options for Payment
1. Prepayment by cash, check, credit card, money order or John Deere Credit.
2. Invoice with 30 days to pay backed by a 60-day milk assignment.
3. Payment directly by a 60-day milk assignment.

ORGANIC FEED PROGRAM
Spot Market Inventory & Offers
Offers of Organic Feed: CROPP Cooperative purchases and solicits offers of organic feeds, feed crops and by-products on the spot markets. They are
available to both members and non-members. Offers should be directed to the Feed Department at 888-809-9297 or [email protected]
This issue’s featured product: Flax-based Extender Pellets
Extender pellets can be used to extend your corn or barley supply. The pellets are made up of flaxseed screenings, spelt hulls,
spelt screenings and wheat screenings. The pellets are certified organic and have a typical protein of 14-15%, NEL of around 76.
Some farmers feed them alone and others mix with their starch/energy grains. The extender pellets do not contain any minerals and are not a complete feed. Pellets are available in railcar quantities only, but we can ship to your local mill or elevator for
further distribution if you cannot take a full railcar (90-100 tons). The Feed Program can land a railcar just about anywhere in
America for approximately $400 per ton.

Organic Grain Wanted
Feed Program Looking to Lease
Existing Grain Bins
CROPP Cooperative’s Organic Feed Program
is looking to buy and future contract organic grains. Truckload and railcar quantities
desired.
The Feed Program needs access to a number
of grain bins in the Midwest and the Eastern
United States for storing Grower Pool and spot
market grain purchases when a buyer is not
yet identified or ready to take delivery. Ideally,
the bins would be located on a member’s farm
or a commercial site where someone can be
on hand to help load and unload for us. A fair
lease and load-in/load-out fee will be paid.
If you are an organic grower looking to
market your corn, soybeans, barley, oats,
triticale, spelt, flax or hay, please contact
the Farmer Hotline at (888) 809-9297.
Spot market and one-year contracts are
available now.
