What is a Travel Plan?
Bolnore Village Hub
A Travel Plan is an integrated ‘tool’
which includes a range of measures and
initiatives that together can reduce
congestion and the associated impacts
of travel and transport on the
environment, whilst also achieving a
number of other benefits relating to
personal health and finance.
At the heart of the Travel Plan is the
‘Bolnore Village Hub’ which can be

bolnorehub. This website provides
a wealth of information relating to
sustainable travel, the local area and
the Travel Plan.
Travel Plan Objectives
The Bolnore Village Travel Plan has the following objectives:
n To reduce car travel during the morning peak (08:00-09:00)
and the evening peak (17:00-18:00).
n To reduce overall car usage.
n To increase travel via sustainable modes.
n To increase awareness of the benefits of sustainable travel.
n To help residents save money on travel and transport.
n To promote healthy/active lifestyles.
n To support community cohesion.

n Route planners and maps

n Leaflets and information packs
In addition, be sure to register to receive access to a range
of discounts and travel related offers. Catching the Train?
Haywards Heath is your nearest railway
station which has frequent services
to and from London and Brighton
throughout the day.
The station does have a car park, however a weekly parking ticket costs £30 and you’re not guaranteed a space.
From September 2012 a Maxi Taxi service will be operating from Bolnore Village. This is a shuttle bus service which provides
a direct connection to the station every weekday morning with
return services each evening.

Travel Plans are not anti car; however
they are designed to help people
understand the real cost of car ownership
and how they can save money when they
do use their vehicles.
Car-sharing can effectively halve the cost of your journey. Use the
car share links on the Bolnore Village Hub to find out more.
A second car is not always practical or sometimes you need a
larger car or even a van to undertake an errand. Alternatively you
may not own a car but need one from time to time. Therefore
Bolnore Village Residents are eligible for car hire discounts from
local suppliers with full and half day rates available.

Bus Travel
Bolnore Village has a well established bus service which provides
linkages to Haywards Heath Town Centre and the surrounding
area. As part of our commitment to sustainable travel additional
funding has been made available to support the local bus service.
