We have also provided important contact numbers should you required assistance and a list of numbers that you may find useful during your stay. These informal names are used more often than the official designation of street numbers and names From Abu Dhabi airport ask your driver or taxi to take you to “Electra Street” (this is the informal name for Sheikh Zayed the 2nd Street). This is just of “Airport Road” (again an informal name for Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum Street / 2nd Street). Landmarks that will help are the ETISALAT Building (identifiable by the large ball on the top), HSBC Bank and the New Medical Centre Hospital which is adjacent Sama Tower. Sama Tower is easily recognizable, being 50 storey’s tall and clad in silver grey panels. The building is marked on the location map below. A general map is also included that indicates the building location relevant to the airport. As a general guide, the travel time from Abu Dhabi airport to Sama Tower is 30 – 40 minutes dependent on traffic. If arriving at Dubai airport and travelling to Abu Dhabi the travel time is approximately 90+ minutes, again this can vary dependent on traffic and time of day. The building reception is manned 24hrs. If check in is during normal working hours one of our staff will meet you and assist with the inventory check and registration. If your arrival is late we will contact you to arrange to meet at a convenient time to complete these formalities. Checking out We will contact you ahead of departure date to arrange a final inspection of the apartment. There will be no formal check out procedure. Please however ensure you settle all accounts with local service providers you may have utilized. There are no formal check in / out times, keys can be left at reception in the event of an very early / late departure. General Information The apartments are fully furnished and equipped, housekeeping and laundry services are available at separate charges payable by the user. Contact details are provided in the directory of “useful numbers” included in a later section of this document. The apartment will be provided with a “starter” pack consisting of basic requirements – milk, water, bread, tea / coffee etc. together with basic toiletries The apartment kitchen is fully equipped with good quality appliances including a washing machine and the operating manuals are available in the kitchen drawers. If you need assistance please do not hesitate to contact our onsite technician – number provided on page 3. The UAE operates on 3 pin, 220V residential electrical system, so please bring transformers / adaptors for any electrical appliances you are bringing. At this point, housekeeping and laundry services are not provided. Should you require such services please see the USEFUL CONTACT NUMBERS to make necessary arrangements. (Please note that charges for any such services are to the account of the occupant.) Page 6 of 12 About SAMA Tower SAMA Tower is a modern 50 storey residential tower conveniently located on Sheikh Zayed the second street (locally known as Electra Street, and just off Airport Road), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. A modern designed concept for buildings well furnished and comfortable rooms are designed to suite to the needs of the residents. These are all modern malls with a range of fashion, jewelry and Electronics outlets as well as Food Courts, Cafes and restaurants. HOW TO GET A LOCAL MOBILE TELEPHONE SIM CARD Etisalat and Du are the two service providers in the UAE. Both offer PayAsYou Go and post paid mobile telephone services. To purchase a SIM card you can visit one of the many kiosks and stores independent and branded – with identification, such as your passport and buy a SIM over the counter. These are almost instantly activiated. Prepaid vouchers are readily available for booth Service Providers. The Cafes and restaurants located in residential neighbourhoods have two years to either move or ban smoking while for non-residential outlets, designated smoking areas will be allowed, news agency WAM reported. Selling cigarettes to anyone under 18 is also illegal, as is smoking in cars carrying children under 12 while inspectors will have the power to initiate legal action that could result in fines and/or jail terms.
