The board realized this in 2008 and started working on a plan to hire a development director to seek funding and corporate sponsorships. By spring of 2009 Patty Redeker was promoted to the dual role of fund development and membership. We have been fortunate to have been awarded some significant grants in the last year, including a recently announced two-year grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board. Monthly, approximately seven grant proposals and three or four letters of intent are sent to foundations with specific requests to help support a variety of programming. In the past year we have grown our educational fund from $9,000 to around $30,000. Villa Terrace Museum 2220 N. Terrace Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53202 Of course, we’ll ask for your support by continuing your membership with the museums, contributing to the annual campaign – whether it be $10 or $10,000, and considering a gift in the form of our legacy program. Charles Allis Art Museum 1801 N. Prospect Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53202 In previous years a third of our budget has come from the county tax levy. With economics and county government always changing we feel it is most important that we are prepared by developing strong relationships with foundations, creating an endowment (which will be in place before the end of this year), and are mindful of our expenses.
