Our belief is that wine should enhance both the food and the dining experience. We continuously strive to maintain a wine program that allows customers of all ranges of wine interest and experience to come and enjoy wine by itself or complementing the food; which ever suits you best. At the inception of the wine program at Root Down, the idea was to provide interesting wines by small producers that focused on organic, sustainable and biodynamic production that specifically complimented our style of food. Through the evolution of the restaurant, the wine list has expanded, but the philosophy remains the same. As you enjoy your evening and consider all we have to offer, we hope the variety of wines available for your choosing helps enhance your experience at Root Down. Enjoy! p 04 Rosés from around the world Rosé and spring time are one of the most beautiful pairings in the wine world. Often perceived to be white zinfandel, rosé differs greatly, and its popularity has spread to every wine making region around the world. The color of rosé can be found in a variety of shades from pale pink to orange, depending upon region and grape, and can be either sweeter new-world style or drier old-world style. The wonderful thing about rosé is that it can serve many purposes. Served chilled, it can be drunk on the patio as a quaffable summer beverage, or, pairs exquisitely with foods of all types, with flavors ranging from cherry and deep red berry notes to hints of strawberry, red raspberry with perhaps some floral components In honor of this wine that has been so underappreciated, we are offering a flight, four different rosé wines from around the world. Each of these wines are of different style, grape varietal, and location so that you, our guest, can see the differences that make up the rosés of the world.
