The Phoenix nightclub stages lost one of the truly creative – and a little bit goofy – performers who shaped Phoenix’ “Golden Age of Drag” in the late 1980s. Miraculously, as legend would have it, Celia Putty was discovered just a few months ago, having been sold into White Slavery somewhere in the mystic Orient for the past decade. That’s what the press releases say. Thanks to man inside the pantyhose, Richie Black – Putty’s back! Glamorous, glorious and girdled up good, Celia’s spent hours honing her skills: lips synching, dancing, rehearsing, and backcombing wigs, ready to “wow” a hungry audience. Putty’s here to stay. And better than ever! A colorful conversation with the crackpot comedian revealed a sensitive side of the dewy-eyed star – remarkably youthful in appearance; an ingenue once again, and raring to go. “I’m really excited and a little bit nervous,” Richie confessed. “I’m a married homebody now. I’m needed a creative outlet and Putty is a vehicle for that. Right now, drag is exploding in the house!” Black expressed his delight being able to order some things online, not like the “old days,” when you had to drive and try things on in the store. After a brief –let’s say – “career derailment,” why did it take a decade to get Miss Putty back? “I always left the door open,” Richie explained. “That’s why I never completely killed her off, like it was reported. She just disappeared. I’ve had offers to bring her back through the years. Barbra Seville has asked me before. This year – for a lot of reasons – it was time.” Philosophically, Richie added, “There’s some symbolism in it for me, too.” Veterans remember when Putty and her sidekick Barbra Seville were budding starlets and took the stage by storm. Those introduced to Putty will love her comedy and anything-for-a-laugh onstage antics. “Once I decided to bring her back to life, it was like adding water to a Chia Pet,” Richie laughs enthusiastically. Come see what all the fuss is about! Celia Putty makes her debut redux with cohort Barbra Seville on Saturday, September 18 at Forbidden Showroom. She’ll attend the Golden Wig Head Awards at Palazzo on Tuesday, September 21 and perform again on Sunday, September 26 at Apollo’s. September 2010 www.IONAZ.com 27 Phoenix Cooks! What’s New? In addition to these great finds, check out new albums from Papa Roach, Lyfe Jennings, Sara Bareilles, Interpol, Linkin Park, Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Eat World, Michelle Branch, Weezer, Armin Van Buuren, Mark Ronson, Paula Cole and Maroon 5! Robyn Body Talk Pt. 2 Robyn’s quest for a trifecta is two-thirds complete with this brilliant release of Body Talk 2. “Hang With Me,” shines in its ode to “Dancing on my Own” and “Every Heartbeat” kills with its emotional yet effervescent beat. This set also gets amazing support from the robotic, electro, floor filler “Criminal Intent” as well as the Kelly Rowland-esque dance anthem “Love Kills.” And then there’s the strange but workable collaboration with Snoop Dogg “U Should Know Better.” It sounds like oil and water, but ends up more like tea and honey. In all, this is one album you need to get now! Brandon Flowers Flamingo They made a name for themselves by saying your boyfriend looks like a girlfriend and now with the Killers on hiatus, Brandon Flowers is ready to go Stefani on us. Though the tracks were originally written for the group, they work very well as a stand-alone. “Crossfire,” the first single has one of the catchiest piano riffs to come out in years. It’s melodic, purposeful and has a Keane-like vibe. Flamingo also gets great help from the collaboration with Rilo Kiley’s lead on “Hard Enough” as well as the rock-tinged offerings of “Jilted Lovers” and “Broken Hearts.” And there’s the song that wins on its name – “Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas.” Katie Melua The House For something different, check out Katie’s 180 degree turn of tunes. Produced by the beloved William Orbit, Katie takes her rich voice and creates an album that is atmospheric, romantic and very workably eerie. Think of this as a Norah Jones on drugs with a soft electric feel only Orbit can produce. Tracks of note include “The Flood” with its ethereal, moving and sweeping notion as well as “Moment of Madness” and its Broadway ode to the musical Chicago. And there’s the trippy “Happy Place,” a song that sounds like it came right out of a Tim Burton film. Underworld Barking The group most famous for their 90’s techno masterpiece, “Born Slippy” is back with their best offering in a decade. Barking takes the group back to their original sound and gives fans a taste of what made them a household name. Lead single “Scribble” is soft yet driven with its drum and bass feel all while resonating with a commercial hook that screams simple but majestic. Other songs of note include the Paul Van Dyk collaboration, “Diamond Jigsaw” and Dubfire’s “Bird1.” The only track not featuring a guest spot is the last of nine tracks called “Louisiana.” It’s great to see a group still making relevant music after 30 years. The cancer migrated and attacked her remaining breast in 2002. An eternal optimist, Katan wrote the memoir, My One Night Stand With Cancer (2005, Alyson Books), a poignant, funny, philosophical look at life as a Lesbian. With breast cancer. And living to tell the tale. has a theatrical arc, that hits all these notes – one that’s funny, that captures the drama of the whole experience. I’m acting. When I work with my director, we work with the reality of each scene. I find that being in a situation that’s really life or death wasn’t as helpful as having a sense of humor in the creative realm of looking at things that were going to happen.” Now, Katan adapted her book into a onewoman show and received rave reviews, performing in Edinburgh, Scotland and in Seattle, Washington. She brings this show back home to Phoenix, where it all started, and she’ll perform at the Phoenix Theatre’s Little Theatre. “It’s about dating and losing boobs. And some stuff in between,” Tania said. But serious illness transcends sexual orientation and gender. “There’s a perception within a straight audience that Lesbians have it easier because our partners will ‘understand’ because women are all caring and stuff, but the reality of getting breast cancer or any illness that causes you to have a part removed that’s connected to sexuality is that partners, husbands, wives, are uncomfortable with it, or okay with it, regardless of sexual orientation.” Always ready with a quick quip, we asked Tania if anything about breast cancer was funny for her. “I don’t think of the elements as being funny, as much as being absurd,” she explained. “It’s the absurdity of illness. When I had my second breast removed, the the surgeon had me mark on a figure on a piece of paper which breast would be removed – on a little stick figure. Since I only had one breast I drew a little arrow to the left breast and wrote, ‘Repeat performance.’ The chances of them getting it right was pretty easy.” Katan condensed her 288 page book into a script for an audience but the story is still the same: a young woman – who just happens to be Lesbian – with breast cancer. “I’ve written a complete play with an audience in mind. I work with a director, a dramaturge so that we can craft a story that makes sense, Does she miss her breasts? “Gosh, when I had one breast, for a long time I sort of missed having two. When I had the second one removed it was sort of this ‘clean slate’ situation. But, no, I haven’t thought about my boobies for a long time. I feel symmetrical again. I don’t think about my breasts, I think about other peoples’ breasts.” Tania’s show features, “Gay people, me singing poorly, and doctors missing veins. And some dancing girls. And by dancing girls, I mean me. And cancer. What more do you need?” You can’t “catch” breast cancer, but you can catch Tania Katan’s brilliant “Saving Tania’s Privates” at the Little Theatre at Phoenix Theatre at 100 E. McDowell Rd. You never know what seeds will fall on fertile ground. This past July, ION presented readers with the opportunity to enter the first ever “Queer of the Year” contest held in beautiful Montréal, Canda. This pageant was sponsored in part by Tourisme Montréal, the Greater Montréal Convention and Tourism Bureau, GAY. com, Fierté Montréal Pride. Out of hundreds of applicants, the field was narrowed down to twenty who were interviewed by judges for their Personality, Talent, Healthy Lifestyle, Sex Appeal, Creativity, Showmanship, Fab Factor, Smarts, Social Media Popularity, Background, and a Sense of Community in a search for the Brightest Star under the Rainbow, to find out who’s got the sass, the class, and the brass to named “Queer of the Year 2010.” The story all played out on www. QueerOfTheYearContest.com ION printed an encouragement for local favorite Nathan Gilligan to enter the contest, and he bit. The prospect of being cast in a reality show can be intimidating. Nathan reflected, “I was totally not going to apply for what I now call a mixture of Sex In The City meets the Gay Real World, but I did.” The top five finalists competed in Montréal during their Pride week, August 9-16. A film crew followed them as they took part in all kinds of crazy activities – a car wash, a gourmet cookoff, a drag show, a photo shoot and an urban triathlon. Viewers voted for their favorite contestants online, while Nathan’s fans – Team Gilligan – watched to see how our hometown boy performed. Nathan won the Cook-Off, he blew their dresses up over their wigs in the Drag Challenge and place third in the Photoshoot. Finally, Phoenix’s Favorite Son came in Second Place. We spoke to Nathan about his experience in the beautiful city of Montréal and his performance in QOTY. “Montréal is a city that stands out. I mean, name a city that you know for sure finds pride in making sure the entire city somehow involves themselves as well as their entire family – both Gay and Straight alike,” Nathan explained. “In most cities, the Rainbow flag is flown only for the weekend, but Montréal makes sure education, community involvement, and acceptance are respected values as a part of the city’s understood ‘code of ethics’ and can proudly fly Rainbows September 2010 www.IONAZ.com 41 42 www.IONAZ.com September 2010 24/7/365 without shame. So, to choose my favorite thing about Montréal is like asking me to eat just one Oreo; it just can’t happen,” Nathan said laughingly. “The GLBT community is so freeflowing and very much into the concept educating the future –the youth – not to hate. I love this! Now, if only us Americans started educating our children, maybe generations to come can change the negative thought process toward members of the GLBTQ community by learning to accept people just as they are: human.” We asked Nathan what gifts he brought to the table for the QOTY competition. “Myself! After all ‘Nathan’ means ‘a gift from God’ and I know us Americans always forget the receipt of purchase when trying to return something. So, you’re stuck with me and, no, you can’t have in-store credit. All kidding aside, I brought an educated, humorous way to express myself. I brought big smiles, over-thetop screams and a personality that’s unmatched. I think it’s because I’m 100% original, Illinois-grown, USDA Choice. The Surgeon General warns I’m highly addictive,” he added with a wink. Although the handsome Sean Horlor, a Canadian from Vancouver, won the Queer of the Year contest and the title, our Gilligan is the Queer of the Year stateside. “ION Arizona made this possible by sowing the seed and now look at me! I’m the #1 QUEER IN THE USA, BABY! Heck, after you say it a few times its feels good! ‘Nathan Gilligan: Queer of America!’ Never should we forget to build our GLBT community up, so stop the homo-to-homo hate! I’m NOH8 N8! ‘Americas Top Queer!’” Saving Tania’s Privates Writer, performer and local favorite writer – and coincidentally Lesbian – Tania Katan adapted her poignant best-selling memoir My One Night Stand With Cancer for the stage in this acclaimed one woman show. In fact, it has been a very long time indeed since I’ve gone to a movie and promptly made a beeline to the nearest dive bar to down seventeen shots of Southern Comfort, but that’s what Eat, Pray, Love did to me – it made me drink, pass out, suppress. That’s the rub about doing movie previews. If the section title didn’t clue you in, let me explain: your guess on the potential of these films is as good as mine – I’ve not seen them either. At least, not by the time this article goes to print. All I’m doing is digging through my triviawinning/date-losing knowledge of film and coming up with an educated guess. Given that I’m human, I’m prone to err. Toss in a very biased love (or hate) of a particular variable in the film du jour and I’m probably a lot more likely to err. So now that you know, I’d like to apologize to every single reader (all three of you) if you took my terrible, terrible advice and saw Eat, Pray, Love. If I hadn’t blown all my money on my post viewing bender, I’d personally refund you. Going the Distance Starring: Drew Barrymore, Justin Long, Christina Applegate, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis Let me kick this off by saying I like Drew Barrymore – a lot. I think she’s a cutie patootie, but I’m also well-aware of the fact that when it comes to her film choices, it’s hit or miss. Usually miss. In the latest RomCom staring Drew-Bar, Going the Distance, she stars as Erin, a San Franciscan, who meets Garrett (Long), while in New York for the summer. Hitting it off immediately but ever-cognizant of their home bases, they agree to have a no-strings-attached fling and go their separate ways come fall. Easier said than done; the two end up constantly communicating with one another and begin to realize that maybe their short story is really a novel. Jason Sudeikis (The Daily Show), Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), and Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?) co-star. I’m Still Here Starring: Joaquin Phoenix Casey Affleck, the legitimately talented Affleck brother, makes his directorial debut with this documentary film depicting one year in the life of Academy Award winning actor, Joaquin Phoenix. No doubt, you remember Phoenix’s bizarre appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno a few years back where he mubbled nonsensically through a Mountain Man’s beard and hid behind a pair of oversized sunglasses he most likely stole from one of the Olsen Twins. Or you’ll remember his unceremonious exit from cinema in order to pursue a music career – as a Hip-Hop artist. I’m Still Here follows Phoenix from the Fall of 2008 as he attempts to reinvent himself and does so in a remarkably touching way. September 2010 www.IONAZ.com 47 48 www.IONAZ.com Setember 2010 by Wes Bergman [email protected] DVD Movie Review Say Goodnight Starring: Rob Benedict, Christopher Gessner, David Monahan, Aaron Paul One night, four guy friends are hanging out at their favorite hot-spot in their usual quest for willing ladies when the conversation turns to the most recent dating experiences of three of them, as relayed to their fourth member who happened to leave early the night that the others met the women in question. Told in flashback, Say Goodnight, is an interesting glimpse into how three different men choose to handle the romantic opportunities that simultaneously fall into their laps. There’s your typical self-serving Jersey Shore housemate, Victor (Paul, Breaking Bad), who takes up with sexuallyuninhibited Crystal (Carly Pope); the commitmentphobic Mason (Gessner), who tentatively dates no muss, no fuss Angela (Smith Cho); and, mildly neurotic nerd Leroy (Benedict) who embarks on a long-term relationship with talented spitfire, Lily (Shannon Lucio). As each story unfolds, it is interesting to note the manner in which each man handles his respective relationship, and how he chooses to view it in hindsight. Patrik Age 1.5 Starring: Gustaf Skarsgard, Torkel Petersson, Thomas Ljungman In this beautiful Swedish film, Goran (Skarsgard) and Sven (Petersson), are a married gay couple seeking to expand their family. Shortly after moving into their idyllic suburban home, they make arrangements to adopt an eighteen-month-old boy named Patrik. Ecstatic about this new addition to their unique home (Sven has a 16 year-old daughter from his previous marriage), they quickly learn that Patrik is not a teething 1.5 year-old – he’s a 15-yearold whose cut his teeth doing time. The stress, confusion, and frustration Goran and Sven go through to both clarify and rectify the situation only serve to drive a wedge between them. In Sven’s absence, Goran allows Patrik to stay on until he can find a new “ordinary” family. It is then the most unexpected happens – Goran and Patrik develop a loving connection when they help each other find that which they’ve always been seeking – family and acceptance. I cannot even begin to articulate just how lovely this film was – from beginning to end, it’s a wonderful foreign-language film that resonated deeply with me. Like the blue cake that Goran, a doctor, shares with his staff during tea, it is what I love about film – little slices of life fraught with meaning; tiny gestures filled with humanity; and, tender moments ripe with kindness, compassion, and beauty. I strongly recommend everyone see this film – you will be better for it. Or old sombrero, in this case. Veteran Mexican food restaurant Macayo’s dot the Mexican dining landscape in Arizona. There’s eleven here in the Valley, two in Tucson. one in Prescott, and even four Nevada. It might seem trite, but Macayo’s can still surprise. Macayo’s began way back in 1946 in a tiny shop on McDowell Road. The present-day kitschy Mayan-esque “pryramid” on Central Avenue south of Indian School Road has been the flagship store since 1952. Pick from three different chimichanga dinners: huge, – and I mean huge – crispy flour tortillas filled with variations of tender shredded beef, savory chicken or carnitas, and smothered with choice sauces. Make ‘em into a “grande” dinner, adding rice, refried beans, sauce and guacamole for less than $3 more. Macayo’s also offers traditional grilled taco, fish taco, and even salmon tacos, if that’s what you crave. Craving fajitas? They’ve got you covered with three different kinds: chicken, steak or shrimp, with combinations of grilled onions, green chiles, onions, cheeses, mushrooms, The menu is exactly what you’d expect: straightforward, honest, Mexican “comfort” food, by and large. But don’t sell Macayo’s short: there are a few exciting spins on old favorites, and there’s something that’s bound to please at a price everyone can afford. Got a hankering for a burro? And I don’t mean of the “donkey” variety. They’ve got four varieties to choose from, including grilled carne asada, shredded beef, shredded chicken, ground beef, or “California” style, with no meat, but other goodies. All around the $10 mark. September 2010 www.IONAZ.com 51 sauces and more. In addition to house specialties, like Steak Picado, Chicken Poblano, Carnitas and more – and not even topping the $13 mark – you can even choose from three different enchilada dinners, or “Mex ‘n’ Match,” where you can create practically anything you want, pairing it with a variety of specialty creations and sides. Get a little, or a lot. But guaranteed, you’ll be filled up. These choices are run from $6.99 to $10.99. Cheap, cheap, cheap! But good, good, good! So loosen up! Remember the good 52 www.IONAZ.com September 2010 times when you came to Macayo’s with Mom and Dad! It’s kind of a trip down Memory Lane, especially in the old location, but it’s still just as fun! It’s like champagne or high heels, and you have to be prepared to suffer for it.” Wonderful 100 is still the same as it was last year: 100 people raising $100 each. This year Seville’s “Wonderful 100” team may exceed the century mark. Registration is not limited. And if anybody should know about a Cause, champagne and high heels, it’s our own veteran of footlights and fame, the magnificent Miss Barbra Seville. But it was Barbra’s creator, Richard Stevens, who decided that he – and his creation Barbra – could lend their name, clout, know-how, a little moxie along with some shoe leather and help raise dearly needed funds for AIDS Walk Phoenix, an Aunt Rita’s Foundation event, once it was resurrected last year again after several years on hiatus. That’s why “Barbra Seville’s Wonderful 100” was created. The AIDS Walk Phoenix is a magnificent Cause. And if you don’t mind a brisk walk just over three miles you can be part of a worthwhile event benefitting many. This year, ArizonaDrag.com, Apollo’s Lounge, Charlie’s Phoenix, Forbidden Nightclub and ION Arizona magazine are sponsoring Barbra Seville’s Wonderful 100. Not only that, Barbra’s enlisted a team of dedicated volunteers who are sharing their time and gifts to help make Seville’s Wonderful 100 – in her words – “Bigger. Blonder. And more Bodacious than ever!” ArizonaDrag. com’s drag queen kingpin, Edward Castro, Forbidden and Switch’s Dusty Brinsmade – always quick to volunteer for a Cause, Nathan Rhoton, the “Can Do” man, the enthusiastic, handsome Alfredo Guardio and others are all helping with Seville’s juggernaut walking team. “Last year was fantastic,” Richard said. “People kept asking me, ‘Are you going to do it again?’” Seville’s premiere fundraising team raised more than $10,000 in 2009. But the foundation for Barbra’s September 2010 www.IONAZ.com 57 to me. People care that much. You don’t have to raise $1,200. I’ve even had people raise five or ten dollars because that was all some could afford.” “What’s really remarkable are the people who’ve contributed their talent. They’ve picked up the ball and volunteered, saying, ‘I can do that!’” Richard said. “I’m really excited about working with new people. Seeing people getting excited about it, and getting their friends excited about AIDS Walk Phoenix, too. It’s a beautiful day to be out; young, old, Gay, Straight – all walking for those who can’t. It really shows the best of Phoenix.” Kirk Baxter said, “Barbara Seville sets the bar for AIDS Walk with her chutzpah and community service. Her fun, money-raising strategies embody the spirit of giving in addition to her own flair. Aunt Rita’s Foundation and the agencies we serve love her.” Last year Charlie’s Phoenix helped Seville’s team start the day with a hot breakfast presented at the club. Richard remembers, “My favorite part of the day happened early in the morning. I was tired; I did a show the night before. But at 6:50 in the morning I arrived at the parking lot at Charlie’s, and there were already people waiting. It was so sweet. I had to walk away and just have a private ‘moment.’ All these people – ready to walk. People were tired, people were hungover. People who had worked all night still got up that morning and made it there. It’s really overwhelming 58 www.IONAZ.com September 2010 If you’ve got a pooch, you can register your pet to walk with PAWS for the Cause at the same time. Seville’s Wonderful 100 team of volunteers will be at BS West on Sunday afternoon, September 12 for a unique registration event: It’s Yappy Hour from 2-4 p.m. Pack up your pup and register over a mug o’ suds. Or meet her team at Switch on Thursday, September 29 from 7-9 p.m. and sign up. Would you like to be part of the AIDS Walk Phoenix 2010 and join Barbra Seville’s Wonderful 100? It’s easy! Click on to www.AIDSwalkPhoenix.org to register, or to sponsor Barbra Seville’s Wonderful 100, Team Number T20303. “It’s out of my hands,” said Richard. “It’s everybody walking.” Sounds like a magnificent Cause, doesn’t it? Thanks to Barbra Seville and her Wonderful 100, it is. Although the waterfront at Tempe Town Lake is at a low ebb. But I did visit the dried up banks of the Lake when I went to the Marquee Theatre to see American Idol alum Adam Lambert (who was never, ever a stripper, as far as I know) perform in all of his eyeliner glory. The audience was a combination of screaming, weeping ‘Tweens, screaming, weeping, overweight, middleaged housewives and screaming, weeping, but nattily bedecked and bedazzled Gay boys – all goofy for Glambert. Kevin Axx, DDS. Kevin’s an expert in Implantology. And, honey, I know a good implant when I get one, – I mean see one – if you know what I mean. I’m tempted to schedule a series of unnecessary root canals with Dr. Axx soon, just so I can scream, “Christina! Bring me Dr. Axx!” * I also spotted the fiducially responsible David Mendoza, bank manager for Comerica Bank, FDIC as well as NOT&C (that’s National Organization of Tattletales & Commentators. Another highly respected syndicate of which I am the founder. And sole member.) There’s just something about David that whenever I see him I get all hot and bothered thinking about his interest compounding. Daily. How I’d love to grab hold of that roll of silver dollars in his pocket. I’d give David the key to my Safe Deposit Box anytime. Kiki recently hosted the Lady G After Party where RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jessica Wild rocked the place Puerto Rico style. Kiki will be touring Texas and Puerto Rico with Jessica soon. Plus, our freaky little Kiki just celebrated her birthday where she was roasted, toasted and broasted by her “fellow” ladyboy drag queens. And, yes, I hear that she and Mya McKenzie high-society airkissed and made nice-nice. At last! They’ll be performing together soon. And a little bird tells me that Kiki’s got a “promise” from her ohso-handsome beau, Josh. Ain’t love grand? Love. Bah! I think I’ll make an appointment to discuss my eyeballs’ rods and cones with Dr. Thomas, get some quality post-traumatic dental micro-suturing from Dr. Axx discuss amortization rates with David Mendoza. Watch your spendthrift ways! Clip coupons, hit the all-u-can-eat Chinese Buffets, drink at Happy Hours only, and go to Dick’s Cabaret for two-fer table dances. There’s a happy medium somewhere. Taurus Apr. 21 - May 20 When one door closes, another one opens. Make sure it’s not a trapdoor that someone opens for you. There’s another way to get in. Take the stairs. Not only is it a good cardio workout, you’ll be be rewarded. And your legs will look fabulous! Gemini May 21 - June 21 Look, but don’t touch. Keep your eyes open and your hands to yourself for once. You’ll discover that your powers of observation are more apparent and you’ll see things in a whole new light. Cancer June 22 - July 22 It’s all about attitude for you this month. Pretend you’re an egg! Focus, or you’ll end up scrambled. Rest, or you’ll feel fried. Stay open-minded or you’ll be hard-boiled. Keep your sunny side up! Or you may get recalled. Leo July 23 - Aug. 22 You’ve been under pressure. Take some time to get your ya-yas out. Maybe it’s exercise. Maybe it’s a day at the movies. Maybe it’s shopping. Or it may be something as easy as masturbating. Whatever it takes – do it. But not ‘til you go blind. Virgo Aug. 23 - Sep. 22 It’s not always easy finding answers in one sentence. But if it’s your birthday, “The world is your oyster.” Open it to find your pearl! Other Virgos will find the beauty in something others find ugly. Like Miley Cyrus. Only uglier. 98 www.IONAZ.com September 2010 Libra Sep. 23 - Oct. 22 Look up in the sky! No, a little to the left. You don’t see it? The cosmos are trying to show you something, but you need to concentrate. For the birthday Libra expect a surprise. It might be shooting star, or it could be inconspicuous. But it’s out there. Scorpio Oct. 23 - Nov.23 You’ve remembered to fetch something that you once disregarded. Was it an old t-shirt? A book? Or maybe it was a friendship? Both of them fit and were once among your favorites. They can still be. Sagittarius Nov. 23 - Dec. 23 Did you start this month off on the wrong foot? Do you remember if it was the right or left? It doesn’t matter. But retrace your steps. You’ll gain new perspective. Then go buy some new shoes for both feet! Why not? Capricorn Dec. 23 - Jan. 20 Someone out there thinks you’re the most fabulous person in the world. The whole, wide, world! Out of roughly 6,864,132,832 that’s a real accomplishment! You’re so special your face should be on a bumper sticker! Just remember that. Aquarius Jan. 21 - Feb. 19 Life’s temptations and follies are and endless source of entertainment for you. You’ll be better off if you avoid these lures. Pitfalls will compromise your pride if you persist. Opt for a more virtuous path. You won’t be a saint, but it’s a start. Pisces Feb. 20 - Mar. 20 Pay attention to those who are trying to get on your good side. They may not have good intentions. Easy to flatter, you fall for a compliment too easily. Be canny and careful. But that top looks so cute on you! See? You fell for it again! September 2010 www.IONAZ.com 99
