2013 Annual Report - Shasta Regional Community Foundation
Investing in our community 2013 Annual Report Thank you Dear Friends, The 2012-2013 year held many significant achievements for the Community Foundation. Since our inception in 2000, we have many remarkable stories to tell. Lasting relationships have been formed with our donors and our nonprofit partners. Opportunities for community enhancement have been seized and we all benefit from the positive results. Critical needs have been addressed and collectively we feel a sense of strength knowing that together we can make a difference. In February of 2013, the Shasta Regional Community Foundation reached a benchmark of over $20 million in assets. Celebrating this milestone and our 13th Anniversary as a Community Foundation was a cherished moment for both our current and past Board of Directors and Staff. We recognize this would not be possible without the generosity and support of our donors and the expertise and dedication of our Investment Committee. In the past year, nearly $3 million was entrusted to us through the establishment of 11 new funds at the Community Foundation. Our mission of promoting philanthropy by connecting people who care with causes that matter allowed us to connect with donors and provide a vehicle for them to achieve their charitable goals. The funds currently held at the Community Foundation total over 100 individual funds with assets of over $21 million. These funds address interests ranging from Arts to Education, Health to Animal Welfare and Women and Families to Veterans. It is our role to assist in turning a passion into a permanent legacy. As we look to the future of the Community Foundation and the needs and opportunities in our region, we see a critical need for flexible grant making dollars. The Stewardship Fund will allow us to be both responsive and proactive in the communities of Shasta and Siskiyou counties. Our Stewardship Campaign efforts will be at the forefront of our activities in the coming years. Our success in these efforts relies heavily on the support of our past and future donors. We believe the Foundation is strategically positioned to grow philanthropy in our region. Our commitment to you is unwavering and we look forward to working together “for good, for ever”.
