Earning, Spending and Saving
What do you mean money doesn’t grow on trees?!
Yep, that’s right, no matter how much we wish it did, it doesn’t. So, how do you get the money you need for a new
video game or the bag of chips that look so tempting?
You’ve got two options. You can receive it as a gift or by earning it. You can “earn” cash by helping people who have
money and need help.
Ok, so now you have your money, now what?
That’s right, you’ve got more options.
You can:
1. spend all of it
2. save all of it
3. save some of it and spend the rest
We all know how to spend money, that’s the easy part. The trick isn’t how to spend it, it’s how to handle it like a pro.
Little Things
Ok, so here’s where that bag of chips fits in. It doesn’t cost that much, so you don’t have to save very long to get
it. But, the more you save, the better!
Bigger Items
Why’s it better to save more? Because, you can buy bigger and better things! Had your eye on a pair or shoes of
a new video game? You can bet it costs more than the bag of chips. You’ll need to save more money for a longer
period of time to buy the more expensive items.
Emergencies
We can all plan for the things we want, but what about things you don’t know might happen? You should always
keep some money set aside for the unexpected.
