What’s The Recipe For Financial Success?
Unlike banks, credit unions have a specific
field of membership. This defines who
may open accounts and belong to the
financial cooperative. Your credit union
was chartered in 1936 to serve exclusively
Cleveland firefighters.
YOU! As a member, you’re helping to make our credit union one of the
fastest growing financial co-ops in Northeast Ohio! Your deposits help
to fund members’ loans. When you obtain a loan at the credit union,
the interest paid funds great rates and keeps our fees low to ensure
every member benefits!
Over the past 80 years, the field of our
credit union’s membership has been
expanded many times to include safety forces in Cuyahoga County
and all the contiguous counties, as well as many other employer
groups. In 2005, FFCCU was approved for a community charter
making membership available to anyone who lives, works,
worships, or attends school in Cuyahoga and Lake counties. We
then added Lorain County at the end of 2015 through a merger.
This larger field of membership has allowed the credit union to
grow and add financial strength while bringing new and modern
services to the membership.

one of our very own members (who is also a Lorain firefighter)!

This growth opportunity, combined with the desire to make credit union
membership available to as many consumers as possible, has led us
toward further expansion. In June, we were approved to add Medina,
Summit, Portage, and Geauga counties to our field of membership.
The financial cooperative grows stronger, resulting in better value
to the membership, with each new member. The board, management,
and staff are excited for this new opportunity to serve the expanded
area and encourage you to help us spread the news.
