ETSEIAT is the center of superior engineering studies of the
Polytechnic University of (UPC) at the Campus of Terrassa. ETSEIAT is

What to visit
Terrassa has a rich cultural and artistic heritage. Its Mediaeval heritage
consists of the Sant Pere churches ensemble (next to Vallparadís Park, where
major paleontological discoveries have been made), the Torre del Palau
(Palace Tower) and the Castell Cartoixa de Vallparadís (Vallparadís Carthusian
Monastery Castle).

Moving forward in time we come to the period of modernisme and industrialisation, when the wool textile sector created what is now a
unique industrial heritage in Catalonia. The city’s old factories and mills, housing, warehouses and chimneys provide a first-hand look at
the arts, architecture and way of life in the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th: examples include the Vapor Aymerich, Amat i
Jover textile mill, built in 1907 and now home to the Museu de la Ciència i de la Tècnica de Catalunya (mNACTEC – Catalan National
Science and Technology Museum), the Masia Freixa farmhouse (1905-1910) and the Casa Alegre de Sagrera (1911)

Just ten minutes away from the city centre, the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac Natural Park presides over the Terrassa landscape.
The monastery at the summit of La Mola is the most emblematic site on a massif that also features plentiful Neolithic archaeological remains.
Then right in the heart of Terrassa is the 3-kilometre long Vallparadís Park, laid out on top of a dry watercourse that runs across the city from north to
south and a first-rate cultural, natural and recreational facility. The Park has a pool which is turned into a navigable lake in the winter.

Palaudina: since 1996 Terrassa has had its
own special cake, the Palaudina.
It is a cylindrical-shaped cake based on the
Torre del Palau (Palace Tower), a symbol of
the city.
“Autumn of Game and Wild Mushrooms in Terrassa”
In October the "Tardor de caça i bolets a Terrassa" (Autumn of Game
and Wild Mushrooms in Terrassa) campaign was launched which is
designed to promote wild mushrooms and traditional autumn
cooking among residents and visitors.
The campaign is run from October to November every year.
It is made with almonds, hazelnuts, eggs,
sugar, chocolate and ratafia flavouring.
