In the Beginning
In the beginning it beckoned; calling from the darker side.
To gather chosen spirits, with a wolf as their guide.
They started on a journey; hope and dreams intertwined.
Reality and fantasy, twisted warped and defined.
A true labor of love is born from the kindred;
To share the spirit of freedom is what is intended.
With the blessings of many whitelinemagazine.com is here;
Sharing wisdom and laughter, kinship and good cheer.

First and foremost an explanation is in order.
Obviously, the magazine is a couple days late this month
and I want to personally apologize for that. We have had
both personal and technical "crisis" confront us the last
few days of the month. we have since managed to get
everything straightened out, but not in time to have the
magazine out on it's usual day.
The names and addresses posted of the soldiers who sent
in their thanks for the Christmas Card Drive, were the soldier's
APO addresses.
These addresses are for depots where the Army receives mail
for various soldiers. It's similar to a post office here in the
states. The soldier in question may be miles from that APO,
but it goes there and then gets distributed.
In the "blessings in disguise" department, the lateness
of the magazine does allow us one benefit. I get to make an
important announcement in this issue!
We do often get in email which the author does not want to
be identified and ask us to withhold the name and address. If it
isn't requested to be withheld, then we try to include it to
prove veracity.
When we had our first Bike Night here in Punta Gorda,
we were set up at Lashley Park. The city had a "let's see
how it goes" attitude, which we frankly couldn't fault them
for. It was the first Bike Night after all. At the event,
everybody thought it was a very good turnout. We had as
many as 1100 bikes on the grounds at one time and
approximately 3000 total in attendance for the night. All
the vendors had a good time and had a lot of interest and
sales from the event.
Another thing, we are NOT the only ones to do this. Other
publications have posted the whole name and address of the
writing soldier, such as the Times, The Charlotte Sun, and the
Miami Herald to name a few. These are just ones I have seen
and can get examples of! Even Stars and Stripes, the military's
own publication uses the complete name and APO, and you
can get it online same as our publication. If you look at
websites like Any Soldier. com, you'll even see the creator's (a
soldier in Iraq) home town!
In fact the biggest complaints that I got were the fact
that we had arranged everything too far from the stage, and
the area that we had the bike parking was too dark and
unorganized.
We're concerned for the health, safety and well being of
our soldiers the world over, and would do nothing to endanger
them or their families. We would NEVER put in their home
address or do something so irresponsible as to say where their
family lives or endanger them. But this is an accepted practice
and we did nothing legally or morally wrong by posting the
soldier's name or APO address. The soldiers in question are
proud to have their letters published and had no concerns with
their name being posted in the magazine! I support our brave
troops to the best of my ability even though I believe it's a war
and place we should never have gone into. And we have been
recognized by the Army themselves for our actions with the
Greeting Cards with a certificate of appreciation!
Now comes that announcement that I promised you.
We have a way to fix both of these complaints and late last
week we finalized the date with the city zoning
commission. The second Punta Gorda Bike Night will be
on May 9th from 4:00 pm to 10:00pm. This event will be
held downtown in the same area that the Block Party is
held!
That's right. We have worked with the city, and
partially in thanks to those of you who attended the last
Bike Night and left the place as clean as it was when you
arrived, and we have moved the Bike Night to the
downtown area. This was our goal in the first place, to
have a Bike Night event downtown to where it benefits the
local businesses more. It provides lighted parking on
pavement to eliminate that concern. It allows us to put the
bikes and vendors closer together and allows us to place
more vendors in the event. We will be able to intermix the
stage or stages so that the music is more readily heard by
the people attending while they look at the vendor's
offerings. we hope you will join us to make this an even
better turnout than the last one was! Remember... Punta
Gorda Bike Night in Downtown Punta Gorda! May 9th
2009 from 4:00 to 10:00 pm! We're "Takin' it to the
Streets!" and want you there!
Bottom line, if you write in, military or not, and do not want
your name and address put in the magazine, ask for it to be
withheld. If you are a reader and see someone's name and
address, consider writing to them, The might want a pen pal!
Otherwise, just enjoy the magazine. It's all good!
And last but not least, hearty welcomes go out to new staff
members for White Line Magazine. Brent "Malachai" Long
has joined us doing sales and writing and has partnered up
with photographer/friend Jennifer from the great state of
Georgia. Welcome aboard both of you!
Ride Safe and Free!
Something else I want to discuss in this column
concerns some of our readers concerns with us posting
military names and addresses in the last issue. I want to
publicly state that that decision was made by me as editor,
not by anyone else on the staff. Before I made that
decision, I did some checking on the subject.

As many of you know, Svenmeister Hardcore Kustoms ain't a full blown bike shop.
The Svenmeister and his wife Logan started the "company" a few years back building
bikes out of the backyard.
We worked our way up to a 2-car garage with detached 'lil body shop. This year we
were planning on doing some extensions but still stay "Garage builders".
The motorcycle industry has treated us very nice-almost made us feel like an Arlen
Ness Industry. As of right now there will be some radical changes with our offerings.
Part of that we'd like to blame on the US economy and the dieing boom of chopper
mania.
You might have known this one already but if you did not: There's actually less than
a hand full of people in this world that are making a official living with building bikes
only. Merchandise and parts pay the bills! Since we ain't offering any of those it
actually had to come to the point that the Svenmeister itself had to go back to laying tile
and Logan working a third job as a waitress to keep our "business" going.
Starting February 2009 we do not offer any repair or tune up jobs anymore! We will
concentrate on building complete motorsikles and Hot Rod builds only. We are lucky to
have good friend "Cadillac Bob" aboard
that helps out with pretty much everything. Even drinking the beer in the fridge...
To keep it as the family-kinda business it's always been we'd also like to count
Mitch "Memphis" Britten as a Marketing Manager/ Shop apprentice and Jamison
Sprague as a last call for a crazy idea/ ancient Hot Rod Builder to the team.
We had tons of media via shows/magazines the past years and at this point we'd
like to say thanks to everybody who supported us!
To keep the thing going we decide not to go crazy this year with shows and
events.
Therefore you might not find a SHK booth up in Sturgis or so. We keep attending
the local events of course.
So for the meantime we stepped back to Svenmeister's roots and took on some
bad ass Hot Rod builds. There's a '51 Ford F1 that's been chopped and sectioned and
just waits for it's big debut this spring. A '50 Chevy truck is waiting outside to loose
some weight next. Jamisons' one of a kind Roadster should find it's way to the paint
booth soon and of course we might be lucky to put a sticker on Bob's Coupe which
he's about to finish...
For all you bikers-don't worry! There's still always a
motorsikle on the stands.
Daytona Special: This was pretty much the first
motorsikle that had the official SHK Skull on it. It was
built for Daytona Bike week. Was fun to steal the show
against all the trendy wide tire choppers back then with
this little 185cc Honda based bar hopper.
Special feature was the flame throwers that spit 8 foot
flames in it's good days. The thing hit and won shows
from east to west coast. It found a new owner at the
Bakersfield March Meet. The guy actually bought it for
his future wife instead of a wedding ring!

This past month was hectic for us around here getting things going on
the next Punta Gorda Bike Night. (see Shadow's column for that
announcement!) But we were able to take a little time off to go out and
cover some events and relax a little. One of these events that we made sure
we got to was the Customer Appreciation party that was held at Two
Wheeled Dreams, formerly KC Creations.
Our loyal readers will remember that we featured Doug Cahn and KC
Creations in our
March issue last year. Since that time we've developed a great relationship
with Doug and his staff and it's still one of our favorite places to stop in
and hang out. Even with health problems plaguing him since last year,
Doug still gets out and greets the customers and does most of the sales
duties himself!
Such was the case on January 24th when they held their customer
appreciation day. Doug and staff were on hand to answer any questions
about their line of bikes that they sell or just to chat with their customers.
There was a steady crowd all day from the time the party started right up
until the end. Doug made sure there was plenty to do at the party by
inviting in several vendors to set up at the party. There was music, food
and good company for everyone. As always, Two Wheeled Dreams made
us feel like we were at home as we wandered around and enjoyed the day.
Thanks again to Doug, Kim and the whole staff for having us in. Check
out Two Wheeled Dreams the next time you want a new or pre-loved
motorcycle or need service work for your scoot. They can't be beat!

We all know that America is the place where anything is possible. Our parents
told us that with hard work we could make our dreams come true. “If you can dream
IT, you can achieve IT” is the old saying and in the past year one special mother
proved it to her 3 daughters and the world!
Eunice Parrish, AKA Dream Ryder, was an Army brat born in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Eunice first started riding bikes at the tender age of 5 years old and has kept at it and
kept improving all these years. Eunice has other interests of course. She enjoys
hunting, horseback riding and snowmobiles too, but it is her accomplishments in
motorcycling that makes her an inspiration to her daughters and women all over the
country.
Until 2006, Eunice had only been “playing around” with drag racing for the fun
of it on her completely stock Honda CBR 929. She was foot shifting a stock bike and
was getting times of 10.2s and 10.3s!
In October of 2006, Eunice purchased her first Hayabusa that was pretty much
already set up for drag racing. It had been lowered a little, stretched, had an air
shifter, stock clutch and motor with a small dry shot of nitrous and a Power
Commander map from RCC Turbo.
The first day she was in low 10's
The second day she was in high 9's
Third day she was in mid 9's…. and I’m sure you can see the pattern here!
The Fourth track day she was getting 9.2's, ALL with NO spray.
Now remember, she’s not just another pretty face in leathers, this woman knows
how to get dirty and has put an incredible amount of her own time, money, and
effort into building to where she is now. Oh, and she’s not done, not even close. So
over the winter, with some helpful advice from Lonnie Angel, she made some of
her own modifications to change the bike from being set up for a 220lb rider to a
135lb rider. She changed out the rear sprocket, put on adjustable lowering links to
lower the chassis a bit more, shortened up the wheelbase from 74' to 66' by putting
on a shorter swingarm, and had the forks cut to 1.5” of travel. She also put on an
Ohlins Rear shock and HyperPro steering damper. A Boost By Smiths Launch and
Shift Light Indicator, Canadian Mike's Billet Slave cover, and new EBC brake pads
rounded out the treatment. When the 2007 season was ready to start she also had
new Ultra Soft Shinko Tires put on.
In the beginning of the 2007 season a tranny problem, causing
the bike to pop in and out of 2-3 gear, kept her from bettering her
ET’s. Once she got this problem fixed she started spraying with a
small progressive shot and ran 8.8's all day, still with stock motor
and stock clutch. Shortly after this she was told she needed to get a
lock up put on to better her short times. With the help of Nemesio
Beltran, they installed a single stage lock up and set it up to feather
the clutch just a hair off the line to loose the bog. Nemesio had it
set up so she could just dump the clutch and go. After a few short
test and tune days they got it dialed in and was getting 8.7's and
8.6's.
(cont.)
10
Eunice did a lot of testing and tuning in the 2007 season, but she
also had a lot of wins in that season too. She finished the season at
Ubly Dragstrip in Michigan with 4 wins in their Outlaw Street Drags
Heads-up Class and 1 Runner Up finish! She also entered a few Street
ET Bracket events which was hard to do because they were still in the
stages of setting up the new lockup, and her times were hard to
predict. However at Great Lakes Dragaway in WI, she did manage to
take several Runner Up finishes where she bracket raced against
anything from cars to sleds. At the Bellman Oil Drag Event in
Osceola, IN she took semi final finish against ALL Turbo Busa's in
their Heads-up Grudge Match.
With the help of sponsorship from RCC Turbo, her 2008 season
plan was to go with their Ultra Turbo and change some other chassis
setups to make it more along the lines of a true ProStreet drag bike and to see 7's. Richard Peppler at RCC Turbo did
all the motor work, tuning, wiring, and part of the chassis changes such as cutting the seat rails and installing a new
Catalyst tank and tail section along with a custom RCC sub-frame. Nemesio and Eunice swapped out the front wheel
for a 16”, installed the Machine Works Racing offset triple trees
and clip-ons, a Scotts Steering Damper, a Canadian Mike
Swingarm, along with the Tiger Racing Chain Guard and license
plate holder. They also moved the battery to the front of the bike
using the Gatlin Racing Battery Tray.
Eunice’s first day at the track on the new RCC Turbo Build
was at the Suzukihayabusa.org Event at US131 where she was the
2nd Quickest Bike out of 30 with an ET of 8.03 @ 187mph. With
her 2008 Season underway, they were chasing down some wheelie
problems.
One of these problems was the cause for a wipeout at Byron
Dragway at the end of May that left her with a broken finger. This kept her out of the season for 2 months waiting for
it to heal after surgery.
Not long after getting back into the game, Eunice Parrish
became the First Female to run 7’s on a ProStreet Bike at a
2WheelSpeed Event at Byron Dragway. Eunice topped her career
best of 7.78 at US131 Martin, MI during the Bellman’s Bike
Mania Event in September, with a 7.77 @ 187 mph at Byron
Dragway in Mid October during a test and tune event.
Eunice’s 2008 career highlights:
May 16th at US131 - Placed 2nd, Best ET 8.03
Aug 17th at US131 - Placed 2nd , Best ET 8.20
Aug 23rd at Byron Dragway - Qualified 6th, Lost 1st round
(aborted run due to unstable wheelie) Best ET 8.5
Aug 24th at Byron Dragway - Qualified 3rd, Lost 2nd round (due
to boost leak) Best ET 7.99
(cont.)
11
Aug 30th at Great Lakes Dragway - Test and Tune, Best ET of
7.80
Sep 26th at US131 - Placed 2nd, Best ET 7.78
Oct 18th at Byron Dragway - Test and Tune, Career Best ET of
7.77
Oct 26th at Byron Dragway - Placed 2nd, Best ET 7.83 (35°
weather w/40mph wind gusts)
They have been pleased with the performance and results
from the short season they had to work with and look for even
better ET’s to come in 2009.
Watch for Eunice to be racing at the following tracks in 2009:
Byron Dragway (2WheelSpeed Series), Great Lakes Dragaway (Motorcycle Kings Day & TrueStreet Series), US131
(Bellman Oil’s Battle of the Bikes and Bike Mania), Milan Dragway (Friday Night Headsup), and Grand Bend
Motorplex (Fastest Streetbike Shootout).
If you’re in the Chicago Area you can meet the “Dream Ryder” in
person. Eunice and her ProsStreet Bike will be in the 2WheelSpeed
Exhibit Booth this Feb 14-15 at the Drag Expo in St. Charles, IL.
www.dragexpo.com.
Eunice has worked hard to get where she is at and is proud of her
current title of the Quickest Female on a ProStreet Bike! It’s an
accomplishment that her daughters can be proud of too. Eunice has
shown them without a doubt that if you can dream it you can achieve it.
A dream ride for the Dream Ryder!
Ms. Parrish would like to extend her gratitude to her Crew Chief
Nemesio Beltran and her Sponsors all of whom without, this build would not have been possible: RCC Turbo,
Bellman Oil, Torco Race Fuel, SYED Leathers, Schnitz Racing, Arai Helmets, Boost by Smith, Canadian Mike,
Cycle-Tek, Tiger Racing, and Machine Works Racing.

This month we have a very special Babe of the Month. What makes
her special besides her fantastic looks or a great bike that she's posed
with? How about the fact that she and her husband submitted these
pictures and story for your enjoyment, all the way from the chilly
northern climes. We have been wanting you the readers to get involved
and submit pix of your wives, girlfriends and we are ecstatic that a
professional photographer and his beautiful took the challenge!
Meet Sarah Iverson from Austin, MN.
Sarah is more than a pretty face and hot body that poses with bikes,
she's also a rider! She figured out after just a few rides that she wanted to
ride one of her own, and went out and learned to do just that! Now Sarah
has been riding for 9 years in the front seat. She has her own 2004 Harley
Davidson Sportster.
Sarah enjoys riding so much that she's made a trip that a lot of riders
just wish they could. She's rode to Sturgis. And not once or twice, she's
made the trip 3 times so far, and plans on many more!
For these pictures, Sarah is posing with a 2005 Custom Built Santee
Softail. This bike is almost as hot as Sarah is with a 250 rear section, a
100 cu in. engine with 6 speed transmission, and custom Candy Paints by
House of Color.
Sarah loves activity, exercise, running, and still finds time to be a
loving mother of two, and a supportive wife. She works in advertising
and is also a crucial part of Christopher Lee Photography, a business her
husband and her started two years ago. All of the photos used here are by
Christopher Lee Photography.
We want to thank Christopher Lee Photography and the beautiful Sarah Iverson for submitting these awesome pix and story.
Thanks guys!

THE GEOGRAPHY OF A WOMAN
Between 18 and 22, a woman is like Africa, half
discovered, half wild, fertile and naturally beautiful!
Between 23 and 30, a woman is like Europe, well
developed and open to trade, especially for someone with
cash.
Between 31 and 35, a woman is like Spain, very hot,
relaxed and convinced of her own beauty.
Between 36 and 40, a woman is like Greece, gently
aging but still a warm and desirable place to visit.
Between 41 and 50, a woman is like Great Britain, with
a glorious and all conquering past.
Between 51 and 60, a woman is like Israel, has been
through war and doesn't make the same mistakes twice,
takes care of business.
Between 61 and 70, a woman is like Canada, selfpreserving, but open to meeting new people.
After 70, she becomes Tibet, wildly beautiful, with a
mysterious past and the wisdom of the ages. Only those
with an adventurous spirit and a thirst for spiritual
knowledge visit there.
THE GEOGRAPHY OF A MAN
Between 1 and 70, a man is like Iran, Ruled by nuts.

Marriage changes passion.
Suddenly you're in bed with a relative.
A biker was bitchin'' about his ole lady to the bartender, "I
can't break my wife of the habit of staying up until 5 in the
morning."
"What is she doing?" , the bartender asks.
"Waiting for me to get home."
--- Joe, Tampa, FL
A bus filled with politicians was driving through the
countryside one day, on the campaign trail. The bus driver,
caught up in the beautiful scenery, loses control and crashes
into the ditch. A farmer living nearby hears the horrible crash
and rushes out to discover the wreckage. Finding the
politicians he buries them.
The next day, the police come to the farm to question the
man. "So you buried all the politicians?" asked the police
officer. "Were they all dead?"
The farmer answered, "Some said they weren't, but you
know how politicians lie."

It was entertainment night at the Senior Center and the
Amazing Claude was topping the bill. People came from
miles around to see the famed hypnotist do his stuff.
As Claude went to the front of the meeting room, he
announced, 'Unlike most hypnotists who invite two or three
people up here to be put into a trance, I intend to hypnotize
each and every member of the audience.'
The excitement was almost electric as Claude withdrew a
beautiful antique pocket watch from his coat.
'I want you each to keep your eye on this antique watch. It's
a very special watch. It's been in my family for six
generations.'
He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while
quietly chanting, 'Watch the watch, watch the watch, watch
the watch'
The crowd became mesmerized as the watch swayed back
and forth, light gleaming off its polished surface. Hundreds of
pairs of eyes followed the swaying watch, until, suddenly, it
slipped from the hypnotist's fingers and fell to the floor,
breaking into a hundred pieces.
'Shit,' said the Hypnotist.
It took three days to clean up the senior center.

Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar in
Austin , Texas , after last call, the officer noticed a man
leaving the bar so apparently intoxicated that he could
barely walk.
The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few
minutes, with the officer quietly observing.
After what seemed an eternity in which he tried his
keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find
his car and fall into it. He sat there for a few minutes as a
number of other patrons left the bar and drove off. Finally
he started the car, switched the wipers on and off--it was a
fine, dry summer night--, flicked the blinkers on and off a
couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the
lights.
He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a
little and then remained still for a few more minutes as
some more of the other patrons' vehicles left. At last,
when his was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled
out and drove slowly down the road.
The police officer, having waited patiently all this time,
now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights,
promptly pulled the man over and administered a
breathalyzer test. To his amazement, the breathalyzer
indicated no evidence that the man had consumed any
alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said, "I'll have to
ask you to accompany me to the police station. This
breathalyzer equipment must be broken."
'I doubt it,' said the truly proud Redneck. 'Tonight I'm
the designated decoy.'

This month I have a real treat for you. Originally from
Hattiesburg, MS but now calling Georgia home - he is bringing a new
kind of style to the music world. He is Bryan Bozeman but you can
just call him “Boze” - A very energetic musician with a lot to say, so
much so that you can catch him performing with two separate bands.
Getting real into music around the age of 16 with such influences as
Outkast, B-real (Cypress Hill), Hed Pe, Atmosphere, Method Man
and Goodie Mob - he started out as a Hip-Hop lyricist & preformed
with a few bands here and there but none of them really fit into what
he had envisioned. While fighting to make a name for himself, he
heard that the band – “Crazy Anglos” needed an MC. So one thing
leads to the next and he ends up going in and pretty much free-styles
his first show, just to let them see what he can really do. It didn’t
take long after that for him to sign with the Atlanta based group – the
“Crazy Anglos” which he has now been with for over 5 years. More
recently - in the last year or so Boze & Ryan Yunker (guitar &
vocals) have started up another band “Almost Kings” or “A.K.” with
a few of the boys from “Crazy” as well. Now don’t freak out, you
can still catch Boze dropping his sick, sick, skillz as one of the 2 front
men for the Anglos he just needed another project to work on in his down time.
Crazy Anglos – a metal/rap/rock band was formed in Georgia in 2002 and consists of 5 members. John O'Leary “Johnny Boy”- (Vocals), Bryan Bozeman - “Boze” – (MC/Vocals), Brandon Parker - “Brandon” – (Guitar), Danny
Helms - “Veinna Pits” – (Bass) and Kevin Compton - “Compton” – (Drums). They combine intence energy, awesome
beats & lyrical genious into a form of music not capable of being preformed by many. Their hit song “Fade” won in
the rock category at the John Lennon Song Writing competion in 2005 and was also selected to be featured in the
video game “Project Gotham Racing” by Microsoft.
Almost Kings – a rock/hip-hop band was formed in Georgia in
the beginning of 2008 and consists of 4 members – Bryan “Boze”
Bozeman (Vocals/MC), Ryan Yunker (Guitar/Vocals), Kevin
Compton (Drums) and Danny Helms (Bass/Vocals). Their style
not unlike Crazy’s is a combination of many musical genres but
has a slightly more intesnse influence of hip-hop. They have been
in the studio for almost 2 months now, spitting out and laying
down tracks to complete their 1st album, which I can’t wait to
hear!
With their sick beats & intence energy there’s no doubt both
bands know how to rock the house out. They put their all into
every preformance & are so insanely energetic and enthuastic that it draws you into the music that much more and
soon enough you can’t help but move along to the beat & rock out with them.
Here are some excerpts from my interview with Boze :
ICE: What got you to actually consider a career in music?
Boze: Well, I mainly did it for fun and my friends always told me I was pretty good. It was when I did my first few
shows that I realized I could make money doing this and decided to go for it.
ICE: Where do you draw inspiration from?
18
Boze: I have many inspirations; my main inspiration is my mother.
She's the reason I get up everyday and push so hard. As I stand right
now my musical appetite has yet to be fulfilled, I won't be satisfied
until I can make the whole world bob their heads to my music.
ICE: When is Almost Kings first album due out?
Boze: Albums due out next week & we'll release it to the public on
march 5th.
ICE: Where do you get your material from?
Boze: It really all depends. I want to make music that people can
move to or jam to in their cars, but I also want to make music about
things I’ve been thru. This album is just mainly about stuff people can rock too. In my eyes we have to earn the right to
tell our story. We need people to be involved first, then tell them how we feel later.
ICE: Are there any projects your fans can look forward to in the near future?
Boze: Right now RYAN YUNKER (the guitar player) & myself are working on some acoustic jams and have already
started working on the 2nd AK album.
I asked Boze to describe AK’s 1st album and he broke it down to me like this. I wanted to make an album you can
put in and leave in. Something along the lines of a mix tape - where you have a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
Rock, Rap, Punk, Hip-Hop & even a mellow beat or two to even
things out. I know I like variety when I’m on the go so why
shouldn’t I offer that to my listeners? I think it’s pretty much a no
brainer there & am surprised you don’t see more artists offering it.
On a few different occasions I’ve spoken with & got to take in
his show and I’ve got to say it’s true. Boze has got to be one of
the most down to Earth guys you’ll ever meet. Easy to talk &
listen to and just down right a good person to get to know.
Devoted to his music, he entices his fans to join in and let the
music take them over. Check out one of his shows and I’m sure
you’ll be able to tell how passionate he is about his music. He has
a style all his own, morphing together Rock, Hip-Hop, Punk,
Harmonic Melodies & an amazing amount of energy to produce
something you’ve most likely never experienced before but should the 1st chance you get and don’t forget to tell him
his boy ICE sent ya.
ICE: Is there anything that your fans might not know about you that you would want them to know?
Boze: Just that I’m regular people, ya know? I’m no different then the next person & don’t feel that I should be treated
different either. We all bleed red right?

PINKY’S MOTORCYCLE DIARIES PART VIII – GEOCACHING
Recently I had just another reminder that there’s always something
new to learn about, and a new adventure to go on. You may remember
that I once mentioned geocaching briefly in my diaries . That one, four
syllable word prompted a series of events that resulted in a new
conglomerate of journeys and explorations for my friends and I, that I
never could have imagined. Always adventurous, and seeking new
things to do and experience, I began researching this phenomenon. My
internet searches repeatedly led me back to www.geocaching.com I
savored the statistics “There are 717,359 active caches worldwide. In the
last 7 days, there have been 394,218 new logs written by 54,369 account
holders.” As I reflected on those amazing numbers and continued my
investigations by reviewing the guidelines, the history and the vast
amount of data on the web site, I realized how much fun this could be.
Imagine treasures hidden throughout the world, placed there for no other
reason than for others to search for them. Imagine people of all ages and from all walks of life, traveling all over the world,
looking under tree logs and rocks in search of caches containing small items such as collectible coins, trackable items, and small
SWAG or “Stuff We All Get” which can be anything that can fit inside the storage cache. It’s rarely valuable and often just junk,
but there are a lot of people searching for this stuff, and I have been added to that number.
The only requirements to participate in geocaching are to own or borrow a GPS (they can now be purchased for as low as
$100), and have access to a computer where you can log on to www.geocaching.com and create a free account. The basic concept
is that hiders place GPS coordinates on the web site, and seekers find the coordinates near a location that they want to search. One
might say that GPS coordinates are very accurate, so there’s really no challenge, however, anyone who has searched for a cache,
knows better. Most GPS coordinates can get you within 20 feet of the hidden stash, but most GPS can also be off by as much as
20 feet. That leaves (pun intended) a lot of ground to cover, especially if you’re searching for a micro cache, a tiny container such
as a film case, in a snowy, leafy, or wooded area.
I had the hook in my mouth, and had taken the bait; needed now only to add the GPS to my Christmas list. I researched
various websites to find out which unit would best accommodate my
desire to go geocaching, and would be affordable. I looked at the Garmin
product manufactured for Harley-Davidson, but the price tag of $799
deterred me from choosing it. But, I believed if the Garmin brand was
good enough for HD, it was good enough for me. So, I began
researching the features that I wanted or needed in a GPS, and looked at
the most popular brands including Garmin, Magellan and Tom Tom. I
settled on the Garmin Nuvi 200 and emailed my husband the Walmart
link so he could make sure Santa put it under the Christmas tree for me to
open when I arrived in Washington.
Over the Christmas holidays, while visiting my husband in
Washington state, I did some geocaching of my own. I got a slow start,
and only had luck in finding an EarthCache. “An EarthCache is a cache
that promotes geoscience education. Visitors to EarthCaches can see how
our planet has been shaped by geological processes, how we manage the
resources and how scientists gather evidence to learn about the Earth. For
more information about EarthCaches, visit http://www.earthcache.org/.” Although easy to find, I still had to overcome some
obstacles. My GPS took me right to the location, but I seriously doubt that most people are crazy enough to travel there in the
middle of December with 10 inches of snow on the ground. To claim the posted cache, I had to take a bucket, cup, or any small
container and visit one of several locations around Soap Lake. At my chosen location I was instructed to wade into Soap Lake and
retrieve a sample of Soap Lake Mud, note the color, texture, smell, and viscosity of the mud and email my findings to the holder of
the cache. In addition to playing with the mud, I was instructed to please take a photograph of myself with the mud in hand (or on
my body for extra credit!) while holding my GPS and then post it on the cache page. This option was out of the question, since the
lake was solidly frozen. Of course, ice swimming is possible, and many clubs such as one in Boston conduct an annual “Polar Bear
Plunge” where they dive into a freezing cold lake each year on New Year’s Day. But, I was not inclined to participate in that
sport.
(cont.)
20
Fortunately, the keeper of the cache gave a second option for those for
whom “mud is not their thing.” Instructions said to visit the public drinking
fountain on Main street, just west of the Inn at Soap Lake, N47° 23.363,
W119° W29.195 and locate the spigot that dispenses both regular and Soap
Lake water. Fill your container with some Soap Lake water and note the
color, texture, smell, and viscosity of the water and email your findings to
the keeper of the cache. In addition to playing with the water from the
spigot, I was instructed to please take a photograph of myself with the water
in hand (or try a sip for extra credit!) while holding my GPS and then post it
on the cache page. I was informed that the water is safe to drink, and many
people have over the years and many still do. More than once throughout the
summer, people will drive up with several empty gallon jugs and proceed to
fill them with Soap
Lake water,
renowned for it’s
healing powers. It
was an easy task to find the water fountain, but to my dismay the sinks
were capped off, (probably for the winter to avoid freezing pipes, I
surmised). Since I couldn’t drink the water and fulfill the requirements
of the cache, I had to be creative in order to claim a “find”. So I took
some photos of the area. I couldn’t hold my camera and my GPS at the
same time, while taking a picture of myself, but, I took pictures of my
car, the snow covered streets and buildings, and then I drew a smiley face
in the snow filled sinks and photographed it for the web site. When I got
back to the cabin at Soap Lake Resort, I drank some tap water from the
sink (does that count, I ask?). I think braving the weather conditions and
fulfilling the requirements to the best of my ability should result in extra
credit. LOL. In any case, I claimed my first cache “found”!
The next three geocaches I attempted to find, were failures, since in
one case the road was too steep and snow covered to even attempt traversing. In another, I made it to the location of an old boy
scout camping area, but the snow was just too deep. A few days later, the roads had began to clear, so I dragged my husband into
this adventure with me and we searched under the snow covered rocks, but came up empty handed. After 30 minutes of this, I
concluded that the search was fruitless and I would have to attempt it on my next trip to Washington when weather conditions are
fair. Next, my husband and I went to the small town of Ephrata in search of yet another cache, which was also in a snow covered
area, and we went at night, to boot, so although there was lighting from the park lamps and the beautiful Christmas tree, it just
wasn’t adequate. But, we did see a really awesome sun dial, which since
it was evening, and it, too, was covered in snow, we were unable to use.
“Another one to search for on my next trip”, I sighed. But I was not
deterred. I was beginning to realize that a bonus to this game was that I
was traveling to new places and seeing new sites, and with only GPS
coordinates to take me there, I was uncertain of what I would see or find
when I arrived. The element of surprise, I decided, is what made this so
much fun.
I was having fun, even though difficulty in finding the caches, and
the wheels were turning in my head. How could I share this new sport
with the Harley Owner’s Group? Wouldn’t it be fun to take a group of
motorcycle enthusiasts in search of hidden treasure, maybe even hide
something of our own? I came up with a plan, and even worked out
some awards. I mapped out a route for our first ride, where there would
be an opportunity to find three caches. Now I would just have to market
the plan. I wrote a short article about geocaching and rules for the year long program, and posted them on the front page of our
web site at www.shreveporthog.com and I set a date and time for the ride, January 19th, a Federal Holiday. It is my custom to lead
rides on holidays that fall on Monday, since a lot of our HOG members are government employees and have the day off. I
downloaded pocket cards that described geocaching and would hand them out at the pre ride meeting. My plans were formulated,
and all that was left to do was pre ride the route.

“O.K., Like, Diary, I've been to this cemetery twice now, and it's
getting kind of creepy wading through the leaves on the tree line, even
going into the woods. My first trip here was Saturday, the 17th of
January. I was on my Harley and pre-riding a trip planned for today with
the Harley Owner's Group. I was to be the road captain, and introduce
them to geocaching. So, when I arrived Saturday, I was fascinated with
some of the old headstones and right away began taking photos. I had the
coordinates in my GPS, and as I continued to photograph, I walked in the
direction of General Gillette’s final resting place. I read on the web log
that General Gillette was an old man when he died; he was around for
both the Civil War and part of WWII. It was easy enough to find him,
and then pretty simple math got me the coordinates I needed for the find,
and revealed
the General’s
age at his death;
99! But,
actually finding the cache would not be easy, and after 45 minutes of
wandering around, I gave up. Today, I brought seven other people with
me on our motorcycles and let them search for the headstone. Again, they
easily found it, but the eight of us wandered around for nearly an hour
trying to find the cache. Either it's hidden really well, or it's been taken
by muggles. Oh, Diary, I’m sorry. You say you don’t know what a
muggle is. “A muggle is a non-geocacher. Based on "Muggle" from the
Harry Potter series, which is a non-magical person. Usually this term is
used after a non geocacher looks puzzled after befriending a geocacher
searching for a cache, or when a non-geocacher accidentally finds a
cache. Geomuggles are mostly harmless .” There were no muggles here,
only us and the spirits that reside in the cemetery.”
Disheartened and disappointed, I was not making progress convincing this group that this was fun. So, we decided to have
lunch at a local Mexican restaurant in Dixie Inn before heading to Minden to search for our final two caches. Now, remember, I
had been here two days ago, and didn’t have any luck at all finding the cache, so my expectations weren’t too high. However, we
reviewed the web log sheet and deciphered the clues (yes, they even give you clues and puzzles to decipher to help you find the
caches), and walked directly to where I knew the cache should be. This time I got it right, and with my friends beside me, I held it
up high in the air and did a little dance. “I found it, I found it.” I handed over the cache for Bill to open. Inside this micro cache
was nothing but a rolled up log book, which I signed, and then turned to the first page to retrieve a clue left by the hider. The clue
sent us to the second location, and the eight of us visited the small graveyard across the street from the park, and following the
coordinates, easily found the cache. We heard Carla yell “I found it”, and we all gathered around like kids on Christmas morning
for the opening of our presents. There was a log book inside, which we signed and several other items for trade. We were
delighted to find a travel bug, which we took and will log and pass on.
We left a Harley Owner's Group patch inside for someone else to
retrieve. Now the excitement was mounting, and the group was hooked,
too. I had been successful in lighting the fire that would get the members
involved in this new sport.
What is a travel bug, you ask? Let me explain. “A Groundspeak
Travel Bug is a trackable tag that you attach to an item. This allows you
to track your item on Geocaching.com. The item becomes a hitchhiker
that is carried from cache to cache (or person to person) in the real world
and you can follow its progress online. Learn more at
http://www.geocaching.com/track/faq.aspx.” This travel bug was
attached to a toy car, a GT mustang. When I got home, I put the tracking
number in the search engine on line and found that this 2007 Shelby GT
500 was in a race with another bug attached to a 07 Dodge Charger.
Both started in Florida and their goal was to see which one would get
back home to Utah first without using air travel and to log their adventures along the way taking as many photos as possible from
it’s travels and drivers.
(cont.)
22
I wrote in my online log “Today, this little bug had quite an adventure. I'm not sure, but I bet he's never been snuggled inside a
saddlebag on a Harley, and with a women at the controls, no less. We'll have to hold him for a few days before we can get back on
our bikes and take him closer to his destination. He’ll have some adventures while he’s with us. Tomorrow, he'll travel with me to
Barksdale Air Force Base for a look at the airplanes (which he's not allowed to ride on), then in the evening I'll take him to the
Shreveport Harley-Davidson dealership, where he can help me and other committee members plan the Louisiana State H.O.G.
rally to be held here March 19-21, 2009. I think we'll even pick up a pin or patch from the shop to travel with him to his next
location, and I'm sure there will some photo ops!”
Our group is planning a ride to move the travel bug further west getting him closer to his destination. Carla is so excited, she
can’t sleep. Tammy is disappointed that she didn’t get to go. My friends are calling me and asking for an explanation. Everyone,
it seems, wants to participate in geocaching. I have found a way to make every ride we take interesting, and because there are so
many caches hidden, there will always be one to find along our route or at our destination. Our group is already planning to place
a couple of caches ourselves for others to find. Of course, if you hide a cache, you have to maintain it by checking on it about
every month to make sure that it is still there and that it remains properly sealed and waterproofed. But we’re up to the challenge,
and it’s just another excuse for a ride.
Until next month, Happy Travels!

With this New Year I resolve to not call helmet-less riders jerks anymore. I will also spend more
time on safety and teaching other riders to enjoy these world-class roads here in my back yard. With
that said I will now make a statement that I hope everybody can agree with. "This thing of ours is very
dangerous"! So I am taking it upon myself to make it safer and make this offer to all of you. With
some advance notice, I will coach and guide you are your pals when you come to enjoy the Dragon &
Skyway. I do this as a public service, but you can buy me lunch!
Every summer we see dozens of crashes on both roads and most are preventable. Remember the
Dragon's big draw besides the 318 curves in eleven miles is that there are no intersections or driveways
on the Dragon. So the likelihood of the dreaded clueless cager taking a left in front of you "I didn't see
him" excuse is eliminated. Crazed soccer Mom driven mini-vans backing out of driveways into your
path can't happen here. These two causes are the top two reasons motorcycles are involved in other
vehicle crashes "Other vehicle violates your right of way". The 2nd most common accident
configuration is motorcycle runs off road. Let me explain that this is 100% caused by rider error and
panic and I want to change that!
When I look back at the fatal crashes this past season on the Dragon they were all riders skidding
off the road or across the centerline. Why did they cross the centerline you ask? Because they did not
follow what your RiderCoach taught you about curves. Slow before the curve, look thru the curve, push the handlebar and roll on the throttle.
Slow, Look, Push, Roll in MSF speak. MSF tells you to set up the corners meaning for a left curve enter the curve on the right side of the lane.
MSF does not go into why or how to use this setup in depth enough for me. MSF means well, but the basic rider course is just that, basic! In my
opinion it is better than no training, but the standards for the exam are too weak and the schools want everybody to pass.
Now the part that MSF won't teach you and during my RiderCoach training I argued this point over and over with the instructors. When you are
learning how to adjust your speed for these mountain curves, drag your rear brake into the corner. This combined with throttle control will help
you go faster with more control thru the curves. If you must panic stop anywhere always use both brakes! Many of the motorcycle crash scenes
I have been to in my crash investigation career showed a rear tire skid mark going off a road or across the centerline. This is known as RIDER
ERROR!
USE BOTH BRAKES TOGETHER! Remember 70% of your braking power comes from the front wheel.
In summary I ride my scooter to make me feel alive, and after pushing myself and my Geezer Glide to the limits I know I am alive! So make
sure you have all your safety gear on all the time. Also bring along your head and use it when visiting the Dragon & Skyway.
Till next month, keep your head and eyes up and twist the throttle!

Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse Announces
Events for Daytona Bike Week 2009
The Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse will return to the Doghouse Bar and Grill on Main Street in Daytona. In keeping with The
Doghouses' reputation as "the place to party in Daytona," this year's
Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse line-up will feature some of the
industry's best custom bikes, builders, and special events. In addition the
Doghouse main stage will feature nightly live music from Bike Week
favorites Rebel Son and DB Bryant, as well a special one night
appearance of Confederate Railroad on Wednesday March 4th.
The Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse wouldn't be complete without
top name custom bike builders and their bikes. Christian Clayton of
Sucker Punch Sally's will be showing his Hard Rock Bike. In addition
Clayton has teamed up with Ami James of Miami Ink to produce a
limited amount of Love Hate Choppers. The two prototype production
models, "Love" and "Hate" will be making their first public debut only at
the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse.
As always, the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse has added some fresh features to its line-up. New this year are the following
events:
Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse - As always the Seminole Hard Rock will be the center of all the action inside the Doghouse
Bar and Grill. The main feature this year includes the debut of customized Hard Rock Fender guitars by the worlds most famous
motorcycle builders. They were all given similar Fender guitars and told to customize them in any way they saw fit, no rules just
use their creativity to make something worthy of the Hard Rock name. Some of the builders include Ami James, Billy Lane,
Christian Clayton and Shelly Rossmeyer who are all doing customized Hard Rock Fender guitars that will be auctioned live on
Thursday night at the Biker Fusion event, with all the proceeds going to Soldiers Angels.
Limp Nickie Night - Tuesday March 3rd-Watch out because the motorcycle industries next generation of builders are taking
over the Doghouse and are determined to have a good time. Be there to see them ride their outrageous machines and then be
available to answer questions and do shots with you. They will be bringing their customized Fender Guitars to display at the
Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse and will most likely close the place down.
Russell Mitchell's EXILE CYCLES Tattoo Contest-Tuesday March 3rd-It wouldn't be Daytona bike week at the Seminole Hard
Rock Roadhouse without a Tattoo contest hosted by Russell Mitchell of EXILE Cycles. Don't miss the best tattoo contest in
Daytona where contestants bare it all and the judges pull out all the stops.
The Horse Backstreet Choppers and Confederate Railroad-Wednesday March 4th-The Seminole Hard Rock main stage will
feature the musical talent of Confederate Railroad while the VIP Dog Pound gets overrun with Horse Back Street Chopper
magazine staff and friends.
Third Biker Fusion Event- Thursday March 5th-Hosted by Shelly Rossmeyer, Ami James, Billy Lane and Christian Clayton,
this is a chance for the general public to mix with the industry elite for a great cause. All proceeds go to Soldier's Angels and there
will be a live auction, featuring Hard Rock Fender Custom Guitars, bikini contest, and a limited amount of admission tickets sold
to the general public for a $50 donation. It is always a good time and even better when we see the outpouring of support for our
soldiers serving overseas.
Party with Love Hate Choppers -Friday March 6th- Hosted by Ami James and Christian Clayton this night is sure to be a party
when the Love Hate Choppers crew takes over the Doghouse. Ami will be available for a limited time to sign autographs then it's
time to party in the VIP Dog Pound upstairs.
"Daytona is always a great time. We have taken it to a new level this year and people will get to see a whole new set-up and
energy," said Carrie Repp, event coordinator for the Roadhouse and owner of R&R Promotions. "We'll still host the industry's
biggest names and hottest bikes, but most importantly, our benefit events will give the entire biker community a chance to come
together to support our troops."

34th Annual O’Reilly World Of Wheels
The 34th Annual O’Reilly World Of Wheels Show came to downtown Atlanta, Georgia and was held in the World
Congress Center. Atlanta is one of the stopping points of
this custom bikes and cars show as it travels around the
country. Many of the bikes and cars that are featured also
travel around the country with the show. What I like about
this event is that it gives the local custom bikers a chance to
compete with some of the top custom builders.
I don’t know if the weather is getting colder or I am just
getting older, but I am glad that this event is held indoors
because of it being so cold this time of the year. I remember
from last year it was colder than a witch’s tit and this year it
wasn’t any better. One year it was hard to get to the event
because of the snow. I usually park in the parking deck just
on the other side of the C.N.N. building every year. The first
year I attended I stopped and asked for direction of how to get
to W.C.C. A nice gentleman told me about a short cut through
the C.N.N. building. I found this short cut through the C.N.N. is
a whole lot warmer than walking around the building. Once you
get inside the World Congress Center and warm up you can
almost get by wearing just a t-shirt. The next big problem is
what to do with that big heavy coat.
I arrived about eight that morning trying to beat the rush of
the visitors to this section of town. It is hard to find a parking
spot if a hockey game is going on in the Philips Arena which is
next door. Just a few blocks of the W.C.C. there is also the
World of Coke, Georgia Sea Aquarian, and the Olympic Park. I
found out that if you arrive before 8:30am you could get to park
for five dollars with a savings of three dollars. I know the event
doesn’t open up until eleven a.m. but I find that the extra time gives me a chance to find some breakfast and look
around.
The first bike that I noticed was a 1985 Harley Soft Tail called the 173rd Airborne Vietnam Vets Tribute Bike. The
bike was built by Mr. Robert Harris of Brooksville, Fl.
Robert explained to me about the story behind his Tribute
Bike. “The bike was dedicated to all my brothers who
fought in the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam.” Harris
explained, “and to those who fought so bravely and died in
the jungle of Vietnam.”
Again this year the Hooter girls were back signing their
photos in the current Hooters magazine. Sometimes when
the line is not to long you can have your photo taken with
the girls standing in front of the Hooter truck. Every time I
see the Hooter girls they make me think of one thing(Hot
Wings!). I am old enough to realize that I have a better
chance of getting hot wings than a Hooter girl. Well, even at
my age I still have my dreams of eating hot wings with a
Hooter girl.

An old race car that I liked the was a 1929 Marmon, owned
by John Landstrom of the Blue Moon Cycle of Norcross, Ga.
This vintage racer is powered by a straight V-8 (65hp) with a
three speed gear box with an open cockpit. An earlier model of
the Marmon car won the inaugural Indianapolis 500 with Ray
Harroun at the wheel. A model of this car was used in the
movie “The Great Race“. It would be an awesome sight to see
this race car coming around the track doing eighty miles per
hour.
I like attending this event every year because it is a little
different than the other motorcycle shows. Mainly because this
event has cars and motorcycles that I remember from my
younger days. This show has something for all ages from five
years old to people my age. The kids had fun having their picture taken with the Speed Racer Mach 5. The Mach 5 was
featured in the film “Speed Racer”. The kids can also have their picture taken with Kit from the Knight Rider TV
Show or the original Kit from the old show. At each of these
booths a couple of Boy Scouts are in charge of taking the
photographs. I guess they were trying to earn a merit badge
or some extra money by taking photos. Also on hand was
Moises Arias from Hannah Montana, Casey Stroh from
High School Musical, Wolf, and Chip Foose’s P32
Traditional Rod.
The food vendors were plentiful and setup all around the
showroom. This is one of the many events that you can buy
a pizza and have a beer or a mix drink. If you can fight the
temptation of all that good smelling food that is on hand, it
would be better to wait until you get back to the C.N.N food
court to eat because the food is a little cheaper and has more
of a variety.
The vendors are set up along the wall of the showroom. I like to call this vendors row. You will find many vendors
giving away some great prizes just for your mailing address. I was excited when I won a flashlight that didn’t need
batteries. All you have to do is turn the crank and it would light
up for a while. I came home with enough ink pens and stickers
to last me for the next ten years. You will find just about
anything to keep your car or bike clean. You can buy some
insurance from that talking lizard or an oil additive to make
your bike run with less friction.
To me this is the biggest custom car and motorcycle show of
the year in the state of Georgia and southeast. It will take you
several hours to walk the floor of the showroom and look at
each vehicle. If you like to look at the old motorcycles and cars
and the way they have been restored back to mint condition this
is the place to be. You might find that old car or motorcycle
that you once owned that will bring back the memories of your
younger days
Like always, all good things must come to an end and it’s time to leave. When I walked out the door of the W.C.C.
it was almost like spring. The temperature was nearly forty degrees. I hope to see you there next January in Atlanta.

The information age is upon us. People now
plan their vacations, their free time, their hotel
reservations and their airline flights all in the
privacy of their home, on a computer.
Now, no matter where you are, you can plan
motorcycle events into the trip using our interactive
"Events and More" page. Click on the state you will
be visiting, and you'll get events for that month in
that state, repair shops, biker friendly bars and
restaurants and what print publications are
available.
Fuel costs are skyrocketing, making
distribution an ever rising expense. Between the
Ecology and manufacturing costs, paper and
printing are rising costs.
We also make it possible for you to nominate a
business to be included in these lists!
The business world is now dealing in a global
economy, with customers seeing their products,
comparing, and purchasing them, in the comfort
of their home.
We offer businesses many ways to let you the
consumer know they exist and are here to help you.
We help drive business to their websites. We reach
a target audience WORLD-wide. And we do all of
that at a cost lower than most print magazines can
afford to.
For all these reasons, White Line Magazine
exists. We feel that now is the time for an online
magazine that gives all the same benefits and
feel of a print magazine, but has a global reach
and direction.
We aren't just another web site. We are an
ongoing magazine, with the look and "feel" of a
magazine, not a links site. We don't charge you for
an online version of our magazine, or a print
version. There is no membership. We find honest to
goodness interesting content for the ads to
compliment, not the other way around. We don't
have nudity or foul language, so that hopefully,
even school age kids with a passion for riding will
read us. We go after the international market, not
just local, but we give every bit of it a local print
feel.
Check us out. Come back month after month as
we feature new articles and stories and event
coverage. see how easy it is to use the "Events and
More" pages. Maybe even send in a riding
experience to share with others, or pictures of your
"fine" ride.
We work at making this "your" magazine. We
give you large and small advertisers. We strive to
have the best in event coverage, stories and reading
material. For businesses, we give you coverage, we
feature businesses who are owned by motorcyclists
on the cover of the magazine and we give you
world-wide exposure. Enjoy!

The picture on the left is the official image of our company mascot. We had originally named him "White
Line Willie" in honor of the magazine, but due to reasons which were also given in past issues, we have had to
re-name our mascot. It was decided by the magazine owners to "give credit where credit is due" and re-name
him after the person he was made to look like in the first place.
Terry Conley, or "Uncle Terry" as he was known to us, was a huge influence on our lives, instilling
everything from basic values to the love of motorcycling in our young hearts and minds. Even though uncle
Terry is no longer with us, it's fitting that we should have him hiding among the pages of this magazine and
popping out when you least expect it. That was Terry in real life too!
Now you can join the fun and look for Terry in the pages of the magazine. Remember the old "hidden picture" games? Here's
our version of it. We will hide this image of Terry someplace in the magazine and your chore is to find him. We may ghost in his
image or change it's color or size, but it will always be the exact image you see above. Look carefully, he can be hiding just about
anywhere!
When you find Terry in the magazine, send page# and approx. location on page to [email protected] for your
entry. Mark your email subject line with "Tracking Terry Contest". All entries must be received by White Line Magazine by the
20th of each month to be counted, and the winner will be randomly drawn from all correct entries on the 22nd of the month.
Winner receives a White Line Magazine T-Shirt as well as occasional extras donated by our advertisers. Winners will be
announced in the following issue. Good Luck and have fun!
January "Tracking Terry" Winner
Well it looks like Terry has hidden himself pretty well. We had quite a few write ins on this contest last month and the funny
thing is that they were all wrong! No-one was able to find Terry last month! There were several good guesses, but he managed to
elude capture and work for another month! He's your chance to catch Terry and win yourself a White Line Magazine T-shirt. He's
hidden again, although we hear he's right out in plain sight! Good Luck to all you amateur Sherlock Holmes types. We hope you
find Terry and get him back to work!
Good Luck!

Because I have been involved with and shown classic cars in the past, I
got elected to cover the car and bike show put on by Cub Scout pack 761at
the Robinson - Littleton Elementary School in N. Ft. Myers. The show was
very well organized and a lot of fun. I walked around and talked to a few
people and generally enjoying the show. There were every kind of car
imaginable from old to new and a lot of bikes in attendance too!
While I was walking around I got to talking to Lee County Sheriff's
Deputy Hogan about the 1998 Dodge Viper RTS that they were showing.
They acquired this sweet V10 machine from a drug bust, and after equipping
it with lights, graphics and a few other odds and ends, it now sees life as a
D.A.R.E. vehicle. This was one of the most visible cars at the show and I
enjoyed talking to Deputy Hogan about it and the D.A.R.E. program.
The next vehicle I came across that caught my eye was called simply
"Skanky". I'm not exactly sure what kind of a car it started out as, but
according to the cardboard tag on the front of the vehicle, the owner
drives it daily and has even made the trip from here to Michigan (and
back) with it last year. This car looks like something that you might see
in a re-run of the Beverly Hillbillies! It's powered by a chevy engine and
stick shift transmission. The shifter is a high tech fusion of an old piston
welded to a rusty piece of rebar! The seats were made from old shopping
carts and had a mailbox for an air cleaner cover! Very original!
My favorite car at the show was a 1972 lime green Dodge Charger
with a 440
automatic
transmission. I
used to own a
Charger and was
proud of how it looked, but this one was enough to drool over! These cars
were being built just at the end of the "muscle car" era, but with engines like
the 440ci monster that's in this one they had all the ponies you could ask for.
A very nice looking car!
There were of course a lot of other entries to the show, including some
bikes. There were old nomads sitting next to newer Monte Carlos. There
were Chargers, Challengers, Camero and Chevelle. From 'Vettes to trikes,
there was a little bit for everyone there!
I spent a couple hours there walking around and enjoying myself. All in
all, Sybil Pullen and the cub scouts put on one hell of an event. I'm looking forward to their next one!

The internet is a great tool and that's why we are an internet based magazine. To reach more people! We want to keep the
look and "feel" of a paper magazine, but we also want to give you useful information. In that light, we give you some of our
