2014 Program Highlights
At least 433 individuals received services related to intimate partner violence, sexual
violence, dating violence &/or stalking.*
237 professionals participated in trainings to ensure that survivors receive traumainformed responses from the systems they encounter. Recipients included attorneys,
health professionals, educators, faith-based practitioners, child care providers, corrections
staff & governmental employees.
Umbrella was one of two programs across the state selected to engage in a 5-year
comprehensive sexual violence prevention program.
543 children accessed care via the Child Care Financial Assistance Program.
35% of area child care programs increased their STARS level, an indicator
used to rank quality.
10 new child care programs opened in underserved areas and 24 out of 25
maintained their registered status.
230 hours of training were offered to child care providers with 74% attending at least one
training opportunity.
91 children were able to visit with their non-residential parent in a safe, supportive environment.
A total of 702 visits were offered, totaling 935 hours.
14 non-residential parents increased their visitation time over the course of the year.
Participating families had access to 8 types of services, including therapeutic supervised
visitation, monitored exchanges, and individualized goal setting and parent coaching.
15 women can imagine life without violence, control and dependency
after participating in our 17-week job skills and economic empowerment
program.
120 older adults received a total of 21,500 nutritious, locally-sourced
meals prepared by program trainees.
