From Paddy Whack
to Paddy Punk:
An exploration of Irish music and song in America
Irish music helped shape the sound of America
in the 19th and 20th century. Vaudeville and
Tin Pan Alley performers brought stories and
dreams from the old country to the new,
and in doing so created something uniquely
their own. Explore the evolution of Irish
and Irish-American music with historian
and musician Bill Williams, and listen
to renditions of songs from the era,
at this free event.
