8TH INTERNATIONAL
CFK-VALLEY STADE CONVENTION
“L atest Innovations in CFRP Technology”
24–25 June 2014, STADEUM Stade (Germany)
GREETINGS
In the Agenda 2015, CFK Valley highlighted
diversification and increasing efficiency of
CFRP production. Subsequently cooperation with Automotive Industry and Windrotorblade manufacturer were fostered. Today, CFK Valley is even participating in the
OpenHybridLab Factory from Volkswagen
in Wolfsburg. Automotive industry is more
and more discovering the benefits of composites, as processes speed up and the economic efficiency can
compete in certain fields against conventional metals. SMC/ BMC
and high-pressure RTM are processes, which follow the needs of
mass production in terms of cycle times and costs. These clear
trends meet exactly the developments of the CFK Valley over the
last years: Highly automated solutions for large and complex as
well as for high-volume CFRP parts. Now we can prove, that we
deliver technologies along the market needs...
During the last 10 years also various networks were founded,
following the example of CFK Valley; in Germany and all over the
world. Last year we established an umbrella association named
“Composites Germany”, which will now align the forces and synergies of the leading German networks CFK Valley, CC e.V., AVK
and VDMA. Composite Germany will represent all networks towards the government and the public and furthermore care for
issues like standardization and norming.
This year CFK Valley will celebrate its 10th birthday. Therefore it
was also about time to employ a new management board, consisting of well known driver: Gunnar Merz already supported
CFK Valley since the early years on and has now changed from
DOW chemical to the management team of the CFK Valley team
as head of advisory board. He is supported by Thomas Friedrichs
for finance and myself for technologies. I am fully convinced, that
the new board around Gunnar Merz will ensure CFK Valley to
foster and enlarge its leading position in the world of composites.
Looking forward to a very interesting exchange.
So, in the next years, we will be focusing a much more professionalized market and will be changing more to automated production of high volumes. The resulting cost effects will open
completely new markets for CFRP applications. Such trends
were always first presented and discussed at the CFK Valley
Stade CONVENTION – this year for the 8th time. Be invited to
participate in the exchange of experts and design together with
us the future of composites.
Yours

13:15 SUMMARY & CLOSING REMARKS
LOCATION
Stade has a lot to offer. No wonder, with a history that dates back a thousand
years! History that can be seen not only in museums, but also living history
that can be experienced in the beautifully renovated old town. Since completion
of the STADEUM culture and congress center in 1989, Stade, the town on the
Schwinge, has continued to develop as a cultural center of the Elbe-Weser Triangle. The secret of the avant-garde building‘s success is an effective synthesis
of atmosphere, experience, organisation, and engineering.
