Electrical power has been a universal drive towards better living. Among other sources of
energy, the electrical energy has dominant contribution to the growing world's energy
requirement. The ever increasing demand of electrical power has called for efficient
operation, effective real time control for smart and secured utilization. With the growing
demand of clean energy, the issues like power system efficiency, demand side management,
reliability, security, smart technologies and integration of renewable energy has become of
paramount importance and challenging and must be addressed. The objectives of this
International Conference “ICEPES 2016” is therefore to provide platform to researchers,
engineers, academicians and industrial professionals to present and discuss burning issues
of generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of Electrical Power and Energy with
recent advances, trends, and development which is taking place all across the globe.

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), an Institute of National
Importance, formerly known as Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), is India's
one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges. The institute has been named after the
great scholar, educationist and the first Education Minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abul
Kalam Azad. The Govt. of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh jointly sponsored the
Institute in 1960 to attract bright young students across the country. Presently, along with
about 200+ faculties and 4000 students, the institute is successfully meeting the objectives
of producing skilled manpower of the highest quality to cope up with challenges of ever
evolving industrial needs of the country. The institute currently runs 7 UG and 29 PG
courses and research programs leading to Ph.D.
The Department of Electrical Engineering offers courses leading to B. Tech. in Electrical
Engineering, with well developed laboratories and state of art CAD lab. It also offers two
M.Tech. Courses, leading to master degree in Electrical Drives and in Power System. The
department offers Doctoral programs in the specialized areas of Electrical Drives, Power
System and Renewable energy .
Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, known as the "City of Lakes" reflects the true
combination of scenic beauty of historical and modern urban planning. Bhopal presents a
multi-faceted profile; the old city with its teeming market places and fine old mosques and
palaces and new city with its modern edifices. It is located in the north-western part of the
state of Madhya Pradesh, in the central region of India. The Bhopal City is very well
connected via railway, road and air transportation services. Bhopal has a
domestic/international airport with good amenities that connects it directly to Delhi,
Mumbai, Indore, Ahmadabad, and Hyderabad.
The institute is about 9 km from Bhopal railway station, 07 km from Habibganj station, and
18km from Bhopal airport. Weather in Bhopal is normally cold during December. The
temperature during the month is about 6o C to 20o C.
The boarding, lodging and traveling expenses are to be borne by the participants. Hotels
are available in the range of Rs.2000-10000/- depending on the type of accommodation.
The participants are requested to book their hotel well in advance. A limited
accommodation may also be provided in Institute Guest House depending on availability,
on first come first serve basis.
Exhibition
ICEPES invites start-ups, industries and researchers to
