Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology
(MANIT) is one of the leading national
technological institutes in the country. It is
named after the great scholar and first education
minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abdul
Kalam Azad. The institute is successfully

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Department of Mathematics and Computer
Applications came into existence in the year
1960 and 1987 respectively. The department has
qualified and dedicated faculty members with
specializations in various areas of Mathematics
and Computer Applications. At present, the
department is conducting MCA, M.Tech (BioInformatics) and Ph.D. programmes.

ABOUT THE BHOPAL

OBJECTIVE OF THE TRAINING
PROGRAM
This STTP aims at equipping faculties
/academicians /research scholar from various
institutes in the area of Big Data Analytics with
Hadoop. This will facilitate them to act as
resource person in guiding/motivating students
and research scholars in the advanced field of
Big Data.
THEME
During one week intensive training will be
imparted on following areas with lectures,
demonstration, tutorial, laboratory experiences.
 Concepts of Big Data.
 Possible Solutions of Big Data.
 Introduction to Hadoop.
 HDFS, Mapreduce, Hadoop Daemons.
 HDFS Commands, Advance Mapreduce
concepts.
 Pseudo Node Cluster Setup.
 Writing Mapreduce Jobs.
 Web Log Analysis, SAR.
PARTICIPATION
The training program is open to faculties from all
the academic institutions, research organizations
and industries. As the training program is of
interdisciplinary in nature research scholar &
faculty members of MCA, CSE & other
engineering department and industrial participants
can apply. Selection will be based on first come
first basis as the seats are limited.
