Dysphagia in the critically ill patient is a common yet challenging problem.
One of the greatest tasks for clinicians is teasing out the contributing acute
variables as listed above and considering the impact of preexisting conditions.
Dr. J. Coyle
Prof. R. Dziewas
Prof. S. Langmore
This two-day conference aims to dissect each potential
cause and explore how it contributes to the
development of dysphagia amongst ICU patients.
Current research and evidence-based practice will be
presented to answer:
What simple measures can reduce the risks?
What conventional treatment options work?
Dr. R Martino
What novel treatment options are available?
Where is research leading us?
Mr. S. Stanschus
Prof. R. Wirth
Our international expert speakers will both present and
lead workshops. These scheduled sessions will take a
closer look at intervention options: updates to the old,
hands-on trialling of the new.
