Learning and Achievement
Curriculum
As a state-integrated secondary school, Zayed College
for Girls delivers courses directly drawn from the New
Zealand Curriculum.
As well as a wide range of mainstream core and option
subjects, students at all levels have classes in Islamic
Studies, Arabic language, and study of the Noble Qur’an.
Senior Religious/Islamic Studies includes assessments
which earn NCEA credits at Levels 1, 2 and 3, that count
towards the students’ overall NCEA results.

RTLB, ESOL, Foundation Class, Gifted & Talented
programme, School Counsellor, Social Worker, and
Health Nurse.
Harbournet
Harbournet brings interactive digital learning to school
across Auckland, offering a range of specialist subjects
at a variety of levels. Harbournet is a blended e-learning
programme consisting of both video conferencing
classes and online learning modules. Students are able
to enjoy face-to-face lessons with expert secondary
teachers, and explore specialist subject areas that best
fit their individual learning pathway, leading towards the
career of their choice.
Sports
Sport and physical activity are an important part of the
holistic education that Zayed College provides, with
facilities designed to meet this need including an indoor
heated swimming pool. Girls at both junior and senior
level take part in Physical Education programmes,
and the College regularly enters teams in local and
community netball competitions. Recreational sport is
also popular, with high participation levels in activities
such as badminton and swimming.

Year 7 and 8
Majority of our students at Year 7 and 8 are performing
at, above or well above the NZ National Standards.
NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3
The NCEA data indicates that university entrance achievement for
Zayed College for Girls is significantly above the national New Zealand
average, Decile 1-3 average and all girl’s schools average nationally.
University Entrance and Scholarship
87.5% of our students in 2013 gained University entrance. In
2013, Zayed College students recieved two University of Auckland
scholarships, and one from Otago University.
