AQUILON
In 1820, our ancestor 20-year-old Claude Verney was already the worthy heir to a long line of gun makers when he
entered the prestigious gunmaking competition in the town of Saint-Etienne, the capital of French gunmaking. He
won the competition, and was able to launch his company in his own name. Ten years later he married Antoinette
Carron, who was herself the daughter and granddaughter of gun makers, and thus the name Verney-Carron came
to enter the history of French gunmaking.

A family album was born… an album whose pages
we continue to turn, marking the company with the
same spirit and values championed by our ancestor.
Values that include ethical business practice, the
art of a job well done, ingenuity and research, and
traditional craftsmanship applied to semi-industrial

Because a hunter must have absolute confidence
in his gun, for 195 years we have made it a point
of honor to lavish particular care on every single
stage in the manufacture of our shotguns and rifles,
care derived from a family and human tradition that
today makes Verney-Carron the French leader in its
market.
Because you need a good barrel to make a good gun,
we have developed a manufacturing process using
tubes of high-resistance steel enabling us to obtain
barrels that are fine, light, accurate and extremely
tough. Barrels that are aligned, assembled, and
manually adjusted by our qualified staff.
Thanks to the longevity of our know-how, we have
been awarded the Living Heritage Company (EPV)
label, a genuine mark of recognition by the State
for the excellence of our traditional craft and industrial know-how. These barrels are also the fruit of
modern technology, of computer aided design (CAD),
directly linked to digitally controlled CNC lathes.
Because continual innovation is a necessity, we
have an in-house R&D office devoted to creating
new products that we regularly offer to our hunter
customers, as well as improving and developing the
existing ranges that give the brand its success.

The Système Technique Anti-Rebond
(Technical System Anti-Rebound) by Verney-Carron,
locks the bolt in place at the time of its closing.
This allows a systematic and frank closing without
risk of kickback. All semi-auto rifles Impact NT
are equipped.
