Cordiale conversations and best wishes were exchanged during the event among the employees in a family-like environment that reflects KOC’s culture. 2 CEO Visits Al-Ahmadi Hospital on the Second Day of Eid Congratulating them on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr True to his annual legacy, KOC’s CEO Hashem Sayed Hashem visited Al-Ahmadi Hospital on the second day of Eid Al-Fitr accompanied by West Kuwait Directorate Deputy CEO Hasan Ali Bunain and Exploration and Gas Directorate Deputy CEO Menahi Saeed Al-Enezi. Hashem visited the in-patients, wishing them a quick recovery, before touring the hospital sections where he was briefed by the Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Aref Al-Abbasi and the Head of the Nursing Division Dr. Halima Abdulla on the hospitals’ operations. Hashem praised the devotion of Al-Ahmadi Hospital staff and their commitment to work so that vital venues continue to operate normally on all occasions. 3 KPC Annual Conference Economies and Geopolitical Factors and Alternatives Leadership Development Unit – KPC organized its annual conference titled: “The future of Global Oil: Economies and Geopolitical Factors and Alternatives”, at Salwa Al-Sabah Hall. KPC CEO Nizar Al-Adsani and KOC CEO Hashem Sayed Hashem and a number of his DCEO’s and Group Managers participated in this event. The conference hosted elite experts from various disciplines, and opened the door for participating experts and leaders for networking. Sessions were conducted, in which several topics on economies of oil industries and the current geopolitical changes were discussed, as well as the importance of alternative energy in the future. This conference is an annual event and gathers almost 300 executive employees at KPC and its subsidiaries. It is part of the Leaders Development Unit Program which is an initiative designed by KPC to equip leaders with tools to face future challenges and the inevitable changes that come with them. In his Opening Speech, Al-Adsani welcomed the audience and guests, pointing to the impact of the latest oil prices dropdown on the Kuwaiti oil sector. He also shared his strategic plans to tackle this issue. KOC Signs Contract to Provide 3 GCs with Pipeline Network Petrofac will undertake the implementation KOC recently signed a contract with Petrofac for the provision of a pipeline network carrying oil to GCs 29, 30 & 31 in NK. The contract was signed by CEO Hashem Sayed Hashem, in the presence of a number of his deputies and officials involved in this contract, while Petrofac was represented by Executive VP for Operations in GCC Sunder Kalyanam. In his speech during the ceremony, held at KOC headquarters in Ahmadi, Hashem stressed the importance of this project for the three GCs. He emphasized that Petrofac is one of the most important oil partners for Kuwait, adding that the relationship between the two companies stretches for more than 15 years, during which Petrofac has shown great success in the implementation of all projects. Hashem extended his full support, including the Senior Management personnel that have worked to reach the signing of this contract, and wished success to all. For his part, Kalyanam thanked KOC on its faith in his company, saying they would do their utmost to satisfy those responsible for the project, expressing his gratitude for the people who were able to formulate some 40 thousand pages of the contract and its accessories in a two-day work timeframe. 4 NK Directorate Receives 3 International Safety Awards One was achieved for the fourth year North Kuwait Directorate has been awarded with the 2015 Gold Awards for Occupational Health and Safety and for Managing Occupational Road Risk (MORR) by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) sponsored by NEBOSH, and the 2015 International Safety Award by the British Safety Council as well. The RoSPA ceremony took place in London, recognizing and rewarding the organizations that showed a true commitment to improving health and safety. North Kuwait Directorate has received the prestigious Occupational Health and Safety Award for the last four years. This is a distinctive achievement for KOC, KPC and the State of Kuwait. This achievement recognizes North Kuwait Directorates commitment to the prevention of accidents and ill health at work. The scheme used by RoSPA judges overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. This award will not only recognize commitment to incidents and occupational illness prevention by North Kuwait Directorate, in particular by KOC, but also for Road Safety as well. RoSPA is a British charity, which aims to save lives and prevent life-changing injuries occurring as a result of accidents, while the British Safety Council is a Registered Charity and one of the world’s leading Health and Safety organizations. The London based charity provides training in over 50 countries. The Major Project and Technical Services Directorate Holds its 1st Quarterly Performance Review 2015-2016 With the participation of DCEO, Managers and Team Leaders The Major Projects and Technical Services Directorate held its 1st Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) for the Fiscal year 2015 – 2016 with the participation of Deputy CEO Esam Al-Houti, Group Managers and Team Leaders, and the coordination of Planning and Support Technical Services Team Leader Bader Najem Abdulla. In a short speech on the occasion, Al-Houti congratulated the employees of both the Directorate and KOC on Eid Al-Fitr on their new promotions, wishing them success in their new tasks and positions. He also touched on the HSE subject, which he said was among the Company’s priorities, before reviewing a series of suggestions that would further improve and consolidate the Directorates performance. The review also touched on HSE affairs, as well as the Six Sigma Program. 5 The Corporate Services Directorate Holds its 1st Quarterly Performance Review 2015-2016 With the participation of DCEO, Managers and Team Leaders The Corporate Services Directorate held its first Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) for the fiscal year 2015 – 2016 with the participation of Deputy CEO Ismail Abdulla, Group Managers and Team Leaders, with the coordination of Planning Team Leader Osamah Al-Thuwaini. Speaking on the occasion, which was attended by representatives from the Planning and Commercial Directorate and the Administrative and Financial Affairs Directorate, Abdulla congratulated the employees on Eid Al-Fitr, wishing them all the best. He also underlined the importance on consolidating the culture of communication among employees and among teams. In addition, he commented on their loyalty to KOC in general and to their Teams and Groups in order to face challenges as one. Abdulla reviewed the Directorate’s achievements during the first quarter, as well as projects still underway, in addition to suggestions. He then expressed confidence in the performance that will increasingly improve in the coming quarters. Introductory Course for New Employees under Development 105 employees attended the event The Training & Career Development Group organized an introductory course for new employees under development, who were hired in March of this year, after responding to an ad published in October 2014. The introductory session, performed periodically by the Training Competency Team, usually includes a batch of new employees under development or training. The session was attended by 105 UDs from all departments in the company. The program lasted for five days and included definitions of the various company practices. The first and second day included presentations made by specialists from various concerned departments regarding the definition of administrative matters that accompany them in their daily work or they may need, such as, financial affairs, family medicine, accounts, salaries and other issues. The third day was allocated to identify HSE issues, while the fourth was about the defensive driving, and included a course on first aid and training in firefighting. The last day, supervised by TL Training Competency Bashar Al-Khashti, the attendees were introduced to the well-established K-Values used in all KPC subsidiaries, including KOC. Compassionate Leaves & Bail Bonds for July 2015 Name Omar Al-Zanki Abdal Aziz Al-Mutairi Mobile No. 99012932 99011420 6 Breakfast Sessions on 3D Operation Process Simulator Conducted by HR Team WK Human Resources Team (WK) conducted breakfast professional sessions at WK, NK, SEK & GAS assets, on the 3D Operation Process Simulator for GC28. The simulator is a state of the art technology professional tool, which is a new approach to training methods. The new method consists of an approach that allows trainees’ visualization for the whole processes on the screen and providing them with a visual walk through of the plant during their training implementation. They are also able to adjust the process parameters on screen. This type of GC plant simulator system has been introduced at KOC and in the State of Kuwait for the first time. The professional training sessions were submitted by instructors Mr. Suhail Siddiq and Mr. Ahmed Dashti. KOC / General Command of Kuwait Armed Forces Workshop Knowledge sharing in “Quality Assurance” KOC organized a workshop in collaboration with Quality Assurance Team under General Command of Kuwait Armed Forces in Ministry of Defense. Local Relations Team and Quality Assurance Team from KOC also participated. The workshop was aimed at sharing knowledge and information, and to enhance the cooperation between them, in regards to unifying the work procedures related to implementing quality system on both sides. Lieutenant Fares Al-Safee’, member of the Quality Assurance Team in the Armed Forces, maintained that this workshop was designed to bring both perspectives closer, unify procedures and share the knowledge with the various institutions of the State. He also pointed to the extensive experience that KOC possesses in different areas especially in “Quality Assurance”. 7 Operational Planning Concludes the Validation of Well Delivery Gate System Under the Supervision of Operational Planning TL Nawaf Al-Shehab The Operational Planning Team concluded the communication and validation of the Well Delivery Project Gate System (WD PGS) Program that was initiated in August 2014 with Schlumberger Business Consulting, Team Leaders and Senior Engineers. The validation sessions, which were held under the supervision of Operational Planning Team Leader Nawaf Al-Shehab, targeted all the Team Leaders involved and concerned in the various stages of production to get their feedback on the Program, which consists of two parts. Part 1: which was successfully concluded in March 2015, comprised of capturing the “As-Is” well delivery process, designing the first draft of “To-Be” Process, and validating the first draft with a wide spectrum of Subject Matter Experts from all concerned teams. Part 2: which was launched at the end of March 2015 will focus on communicating and validating the WD PGS with the Team Leaders, Managers, and DCEO’s; as well as training and documentation. “Managing Your Boss” Training Program Workshops Aimed at developing the relation between Superiors and Subordinates Training Competency Team Launched the “Managing Your Boss” training program through workshops organized over five days at the Burgan field offices. With the intention to shape work relationships between the superior and his or her subordinates. The workshops, supervised by TL Bashar AlKhashti, were attended by a number of TLs from all departments of the company, where the importance of the construction of a sound and healthy relationship between superior and subordinate was stressed. It also regarded this relationship as a key to success, effectiveness and efficiency in the company’s goals. The workshops included an explanation of the nature of the relationship between both sides and how to create, maintain and develop healthy relationships and an exchange of ideas and proposals in this context. Also incorporated were discussions about the advantages of success in dealing with the immediate supervisor and to clarifications to the right way to succeed in this relationship. 8 CEO, Deputy CEOs and Senior Management Receive Well-Wishers
