Ordination of first UMC pastors in Senegal
Dakar, July 6, 2007
The United Methodist
Church in Senegal has
obtained his first ordained
ministers on Saturday,
June 17, 2007. Ordination
service was cond ucted by
Bishop Benjamin Boni,
Resident Bishop of the
Cote
d’Ivoire
Annual
Conference w ho is also the
supervisor of the Senegal
M ission of G BGM. Names
of these new ordained
pastors are:

Therefore the Senegal
Mission has now nine
ordained ministers out of
the Rev. Nkemba Ndjungu ,
the Mission Superintendent.
It is important to stress that
among these new ordained
pastors, one is a female:
Dibor Fatou Ndour. She is
the first Se negalese woman
to be ever ordained as a
pastor. The Senegalese
society is making lot of
effort to promote women the P rime Minister in 2003
was a woman - but never a
woman has been ordained
a clergy before. We praise
the Lord for that.
