Thank you for joining us this evening as we gather together to celebrate St. Joseph Hospital’s
amazing year!
Two years ago, Todos made a $1.5 million pledge to The Center for Cancer
Prevention and Treatment. With the great success of the annual golf tournament and this
auction, we are close to fulfilling that pledge.
The auction team has prepared some exciting packages for this year. Please take the
time to look at each item, as there is sure to be something just for you. In addition to
travel, sports, and entertainment, we have some priceless, one of a kind experience
packages that we hope you will find intriguing. Once again we have an art section of
original art pieces, many created and contributed just for this auction. During dinner, we
will hold a live auction of fantastic packages!
The Fund-An-Item opportunity this year is a Cancer Support Package for patients in
need. Please visit the special Fund-An-Item table in the silent auction ballroom to participate.
We are again offering opportunity tickets to win a gorgeous Gregg Ruth diamond pendant
donated by the AA Jewel Box and will be drawing the lucky winner during dinner. Buy
your ticket during the silent auction for this beautiful piece!

Todos Auction Rules
Please read these rules before bidding on any auction items.
SILENT AUCTION DURATION:
•
The Silent Auction begins at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until exactly 7:30 p.m.
Participants will receive a ten minute advance warning before the auction officially closes.
SILENT AUCTION BIDDING PROCESS:
•
A bid sheet is provided for each item. You may bid on the item by writing your name
and bid number from the table number/bid card on the sheet for the item desired.
•
Once your name is written next to an item amount, it cannot be removed for any reason. •
Bid sheets will be removed immediately at 7:30 p.m for the final close. The highest
bid is the winning bidder.
•
Air and Ground Transportation: Unless specifically stated otherwise, no air or ground
transportation is included in any package. The winning bidders are required to secure
and pay for ground transportation from airports to hotels, hotel to included attractions
or tours, etc.
•
•
Reservations are subject to availability.
We respectfully request that all gift certificates (e.g. golf foursome, private dinner, etc.)
be redeemed within 10 months from the event unless stated otherwise.
OPPORTUNITY DRAWING:
•
A maximum of 100 tickets will be sold at $100 each. The Opportunity Drawing winner
will be drawn and announced at the conclusion of the evening program. Winner need not be present to win.

The Live Auction will be held in the ballroom at approximately 9:00 p.m. Every effort
will be made to identify and recognize all bids, but it is your responsibility as a bidder to make your bid known. All sales are final.

There is a minimum raise required of at least $100 higher than the existing bid for all live bidding. The auctioneer, at his sole discretion, can require higher raises for any item.

Do not make ANY bids that you are not willing to honor. We reserve the right to accept your bid at ANY time, even if other bids have gone higher than your last bid.
If we accept a lower bid, then all items will be sold at that price.
PAYMENT:
•
Payment and claiming of items will be made at the end of the evening at the Auction
Check Out, located in the Auction Room (California Ballroom). Payments must be
made October 4, 2008. The preferred means of payment is credit card (Visa, MasterCard
or American Express) via Ampro QuickCheck. In addition, we will accept check or cash. Checks should be made payable to the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation.
TAX
•
DEDUCTIBILITY:
According to IRS Rules and Regulations, the only tax deduction for the purchase of
auction items from non-profit organizations is the amount paid in excess of fair market value. We suggest that you contact your tax professional to determine the tax deductions (if any) for your specific purchase(s). (Tax ID: 95-1643359).

Todos has endeavored to list all auction items correctly, but it is not liable for
genuineness or condition of property. Items purchased, including gift certificates, may not be redeemed for cash. Unless specified, items cannot be returned or
exchanged. Lost or stolen certificates cannot be replaced and are the responsibility
of the winning bidder.

Values and minimum bids subject to change. Proper amounts will be posted the night of the event.
•
All items must be picked up on Saturday, October 4, 2008. *Excludes certain large
items, which must be picked up by Sunday, October 5, 2008 by noon. Indication of which items will be noted on description sheets.
PRE-BIDDING RULES:

You will be able to begin bidding on items before the night of the auction event. In
order to do so, you must call the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation at (714) 771-8211,
by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008, to place your bid. You must give a credit
card number at the time you call the Foundation in order to secure your bid. A telephone pre-bid is not a guarantee of the highest bid. When calling the Foundation
to pre-bid, it is your responsibility to make sure you receive a confirmation number
for your pre-bid.

credit card at check-in. Simply provide your credit card at Registration.

You will not receive a receipt at that time. You can request a receipt at the end of
the evening, or one will be mailed to you after your card has been charged.

All credit card information is encrypted and securely stored on the computer, and is
not available to be viewed by anyone at the organization.
BID
•
A bid number, linked to your personal information, will be assigned to you at
registration. You will be assigned one bid number per couple with the same last name.
•
Using your bid number, bid on items throughout the auction. If possible, please include your last name on bid sheets for verification purposes.
EXPRESS CHECK-OUT
•
At the end of the event, your credit card will only be processed for items that you
have successfully bid on or any additional items purchased such as opportunity drawing tickets.
•
You will be able to verify successful bids and pick up your items at the Auction
Check-Out area, skipping the cashier, and reducing your wait in check-out lines.
** NOTE: If you do not want to register for Ampro QuickCheck at the beginning of the
event, you will still be assigned a bid number. We request that you process your
payment at the end of the event by credit card, check, or cash.

Have a night out with up to eighteen of your friends in a Silver Suite at Angel Stadium.
Gourmet hot dogs and pizza are included so make it a great night! This suite is
available for the 2009 season game vs. the New York Yankees (date not posted yet). The

Supporting St. Joseph Hospital since 1978
Todos, meaning “everyone” in Spanish, was founded in 1978 as a support group of
St. Joseph Hospital. Members support the hospital through annual donations (starting at
$125 per year) and various fundraising and social events.
Since its inception, Todos has supported numerous services and projects. These
projects include the Women’s Center, the Emergency Department, and the Heart Center.
Most recently, Todos fulfilled a $500,000 pledge to the new Patient Care Center. Currently,
Todos is close to completing its $1.5 million pledge to The Center for Cancer Prevention
and Treatment.
Todos members serve as ambassadors for St. Joseph Hospital in the community. Members
encompass a diverse and well-rounded group of individuals including former patients
and their families, business and civic leaders, physicians and other medical professionals
and their families, and employees of St. Joseph Hospital.
Members receive news and information about the hospital and Todos activities and
accomplishments, along with recognition in the Foundation publication The Monitor.
They also plan and receive invitations to some of the most talked about social events in
Orange County, including the very popular Annual Todos Golf Tournament which will be
held next year on March 30, 2009 at the prestigious Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club.

of us to support St. Joseph Hospital.
