God is raising up an army of worshippers
who are set to invoke His presence
through the means of music. One of those
worshippers is named Sharon Roshell.
One listen to her anointed ministry and
it’s easy to see that this woman has been
touched by God to change the world. It
also explains why she’s affectionately
known as Gospel music’s “Anointed
Sweetheart”. Sharon Roshell is more than
a singer; she is a psalmist that has the
ability to bring her audience to an
experience with God through her passionate delivery and powerful vocals. It’s
no surprise that one prophecy after another has spoken of an influential music
ministry. A former worship leader with famed preacher Pastor Rod Parsley, she
moved towards her calling with three projects, God Is Bigger in 2005 and Never
Thirst Again in 2008. Her most recent release, Church Girl 20:14 showcases this
gifted songstress at her finest and sets the stage for her national debut.
Growing up in a Christian household in Hope Mills, NC, Sharon was wellacquainted with church. But what was unusual was that as a little girl, she longed
for the presence of God. She found herself in her bedroom worshipping and
talking to God, simply enjoying time spent with Him. The daughter of two music
lovers, she caught the music bug early in life. “I remember marching around the
house behind my mother and singing along with her,” shares Sharon. “Music was
blasting from the record player constantly,” she recalls. Later when she and her
brother learned to play piano, her entire family hit the road and would sing at
churches, nursing homes, and in homes of the elderly and ill. At the age of 13,
she joined singers across the nation to sing at the renowned Carnegie Hall in New
York City. It was her first taste of what it was like to sing on stage. It was then
that she knew she wanted to sing for God.
Her path to music ministry, however, wasn’t a straight line. She initially planned
to go into the medical field as a nurse. As she drew closer to graduation, she
realized that she did not have the stomach for it. Shortly after that realization,
one night she ended up at a tent revival. The preacher prophesied to her that she
was a singer and said that she would bless the world with her music. It was at
that point that she decided to embark on a ministry in music.
She graduated from Valor Christian College with a degree in Praise & Worship
Leadership, followed by receiving a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology
from Liberty University and is currently in pursuit of her Master’s Degree in
Human Services. While at World Harvest Church, she was a member of Pastor
Rod Parsley’s praise and worship team. She traveled with the noted pastor and
was bestowed a Pastoral medal of honor for her superior service to the ministry.
After leaving World Harvest Church after graduation, she served as the worship
leader at Kingdom Life Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Serving for seven years,
she honed her songwriting skills while there. She added the title “recording
artist” to her resume with the introduction of her debut release, an EP called
God Is Bigger. That project was followed by her first full-length CD, Never Thirst
Again.

Now Sharon Roshell has dropped
her 3rd CD, Church Girl 20:14. The
10-track project includes mesmerizing
songs like “At The Cross”, “Father of
Glory” and “You Shall Reap”. In early
2015, Sharon released a concept
music video of the CD’s title tune, “The
Church Girl Anthem”. The project
is a highlight to a ministry that has
seen the psalmist open for artists like
Hezekiah Walker, Tye Tribbett, Fred
Hammond and Smokie Norful.
She was also a member of the Gospel ensemble Todd Curry & Focus. Sharon
Roshell has traveled the country spreading the message of Christ through song.
Wherever she goes, many are touched by her ministry. One woman came up to
Sharon after a concert and told her that a spirit of sadness that had been with her
since her son’s death 15 years earlier had completely disappeared when Sharon
began to sing. Another woman who had been hearing “voices” was freed from
those spirits when Sharon started to minister. Experiences like these further
confirm God’s calling upon Sharon Roshell’s life.
She continues walking in her calling with her husband, Antonio Thomas, who is
also her partner in music ministry. Both licensed and ordained ministers, they
serve at Harvest Church in Louisville, Kentucky. The parents of foster children,
Antonio and Sharon are in the process of opening transitional homes and emergency shelters under their non-profit organization, Fuego Corporation.
Damion, with his transparent songwriting ability,
embraces many facets of human life experiences and
knows how to lyrically navigate listeners to God
through the rich textures of his music. He weaves his
various influences and puts them on full display with
various styles which contribute to the vividness of his
message. In Damion’s own words, “Through music
and life, I want to be a vessel to bring the world
closer to God and to be able to help save the lost by
lifting someone’s spirit through my musical message.”

Christian artist Sharon Roshell’s 3rd release,
Church Girl 20:14, is a solid project showcasing
the worship leader’s gift for singing,
songwriting and most of all, giving of praise
to God. The ten-track CD spans the gamut
musically, providing something for every
music lover. Church Girl 20:14 opens with the
urban vibes of the CD’s title tune. Sharon sings
unapologetically about her spiritual status.
Proud of her spiritual upbringing, she shares
the pros of walking with God. The energetic
track features the rapping talents of LaToria.
Another powerful track is the CCM-flavored
“No One Greater”. Singing with an authority and passion, Sharon declares of the
greatness of the Lord in this memorable song.
One of the CD’s most impressive songs is the mellow, “At The Cross”. Reflecting
on the sacrifice Christ made, the tune captures the songstress at her finest.
Sharon Roshell delivers a stunning performance during this moving ballad.
Melding the hymn “At The Cross” at the end of her original tune cleverly
combines the old with the new. “Courage” is another winner. Asking for God’s
strength to stand for Him, “Courage” flaunts a Contemporary Christian flair.
Showcasing a mixture of genres including Gospel and CCM, Sharon Roshell
seems to glide effortlessly from one musical style to another. A true worshipper,
Sharon gives the listener a treat with the breathtakingly beautiful song, “Father
of Glory”. Shining brightly on this cut, Sharon evokes the presence of God on this
amazingly anointed track. Exquisitely penned and a soft but powerful cut, this
song is perfect for the lover of God. This one is worthy of the repeat button.
Gospel artist Tonya Baker joins Sharon on the captivating “He Doesn’t Change”.
Reminding the listener of the immutability of God, the two women’s worship is
lovely to witness. It’s just one more great song on this blessed CD. “Love”, an
urban, up-tempo jam, talks about the need for true love in the world today. “You
Shall Reap” is another gem on Church Girl 20:14. With a chorus taken directly
from scripture, “You Shall Reap” is a beautifully-arranged track filled with doses
of inspiration.
The song “I’m Surrounded” shares with the believer that God is always
surrounding His loved ones. Those who need to feel protected have Sharon
Roshell to remind them of God’s omnipresence in this mid-tempo tune. The
songstress and worship leader closes out this dynamic project with the
danceable and uplifting “Where I Wanna Be”.

The CD’s title tune, “The Church Girl Anthem”, shares the artist’s perspective on her
church upbringing. Proud of her Christian beliefs, Sharon Roshell sings about living by
biblical standards, even in the face of ridicule. As Sharon Roshell sings during the urbantinged cut, “It’s more than a set of rules to me; it’s the way that I stay free.” Making the

Clearly, church has been a regular part of Sharon’s life, from the very beginning. With
two music-loving parents, singing has always been a part of Sharon Roshell’s life, too. “I
remember marching around the house behind my mother and singing along with her,”
shares the singer. “Music was blasting from the record player constantly,” she recalls.
Even as a child she found herself sharing her thoughts with God and basking in His
presence regularly. Later when she and her brother learned to play piano, her entire
family hit the road and sang at churches, nursing homes, and in homes of the elderly
and ill. At the age of 13, she joined vocalists across the nation to sing at the renowned
Carnegie Hall in New York City. It was her first taste of what it was like to sing on stage.
It was then that she knew she wanted to sing for God.
Ultimately, she graduated from Valor Christian College with a Degree in Praise &
Worship Leadership. It was during this time that she joined Pastor Rod Parsley’s
praise and worship team, ministering nationwide with the renowned pastor. She was
bestowed with a medal of honor for her service to the ministry. After moving to the East
Coast, Sharon Roshell served as a worship leader for 7 years at Kingdom Life Church in
Baltimore, Maryland.
She added the title “recording artist” to her resume with the 2005 release of her debut
project, God Is Bigger. That project was followed by Never Thirst Again in 2008. A
diverse collection of Christian music, Church Girl 20:14 showcases the psalmist’s
amazing songwriting skills and memorable vocal performances. In addition to “The
Church Girl Anthem”, the project includes mesmerizing songs like “At The Cross”,
“Father of Glory” and “You Shall Reap”. The project is a highlight to a ministry that has
