Sharon Stauch, Nominee for NURSE AIDE OF THE YEAR Continued on page 1 Ms Stauch is an extremely dedicated employee not only to the people she cares for but just as importantly to her co-workers. As an example of this, Ms. Stauch has had perfect attendance since she has been an employee at Sharon Lane. She never leaves her co-workers behind and is always willing to lend a hand. Not only does Ms Stauch take excellent care of her residents she is always helpful to her co-workers and alert to any situation around her. An example of this is extremely evident in the proclamation of the Office of the mayor of the City of Shawnee proclaiming Sharon Stauch Day after her awareness and bravery when saving a family from a burning home across the street from our facility. Ms Stauch also regularly receives compliments and letters from our families appreciating her work with their family members. They recognize the true compassion and care she gives to the people she cares for. It is with this regard that Sharon Stauch was nominated for Nurse Aide of the Year. We know she is ours but we think the whole state should recognize the abilities and dedication of someone who has given her life to care for the residents we are privileged to have in our responsibility. BIRTHDAY PARTIES & EXTRAS Most of you know, It’s really not a secret! The 1st Friday of each month at 2:00, we celebrate resident birthdays for the month. The party comes complete with cake, ice cream, and balloons! We find out who is the oldest and youngest and learn a lot of trivia. Attendance is great so please join us if your family member is celebrating their birthday. August 13 we are having Glamour Shots and Snazzy Snaps. If you could volunteer with hair and make up, please call Diane at 631-8200. We are going to cap the evening with a Moonlight Serenade Party. We certainly don’t want to be all dressed up with no place to go! Wine and cheese will be served with a dash of nostalgia on the side. Another highlight in August is our road trip to the Harley Davidson plant in Kansas City, Missouri. We have lots of fun filled activities coming up, so be sure to read your calendar.
