AMAZING IN MOTION
Developing the GS involved a relentless
search to make it better in every way. Built at
the world’s most award-winning plant, the GS
resets benchmarks for comfort, craftsmanship
and advanced technology. Inside, on selected
grades, there’s the largest navigation screen
ever fitted to a Lexus, award-winning nanoe®
air conditioning (on Premier grade) and
innovative driver support systems. Paintwork is
sanded by hand, with single-source wood and
solid aluminium used for trims and detailing. To
make the GS an incredibly enjoyable car to
drive, prototypes were tested over one million
miles, demonstrating that we really don’t stop
until we create amazing.

Starting from scratch, our designers have given
the GS a totally new look, the focal point being
its purposeful front ‘spindle grille’. Extended
wheel arches hint at superb, dynamic handling.
Smooth underbody covers and automatic
closable vents on the radiator grille of the
GS contribute to the car’s class-leading
aerodynamics, with fins on the rear lights
increasing driving stability and reducing wind
noise inside the cabin.

You’ll enjoy sharp, accurate steering and
excellent control when cornering in the GS.
On the motorway, you’ll notice world-class
stability and ride comfort at high speeds.
For a more refined and precise drive,
the chassis is now stiffer and has been totally
re-engineered. The suspension includes
a more compact rear multi-link design.
Powerful ventilated disc brakes and
Adaptive Variable Suspension (standard
from F SPORT grade) are available,
with technologies including Dynamic
Rear Steering (F SPORT only) and
Lexus Dynamic Handling (F SPORT only).

The GS is available with a 12.3-inch, full
colour, LED screen multimedia display in
an ultra wide 24:9 format, a standard
feature with Lexus Premium Navigation
(standard on Luxury grade and above).
Driver and front seat passenger can interact
with the display using Voice Control or
second-generation Remote Touch, which
reacts intuitively to commands. A connected
iPod® can be fully controlled in this way.
Attention to detail is everywhere, from the
full-LED ambient white cabin lighting to the
precision-engineered LED analogue clock that
forms a centrepiece on the instrument panel.

The GS’s driver-focused cockpit will keep
you perfectly relaxed, even on the longest
journeys. Behind the beautifully crafted steering
wheel the sumptuous front seats – that took
five years to perfect – offer up to 18-way
electric adjustments. Front seat passengers will
appreciate the luxury of an electrically extending
seat cushion. Using Remote Touch, you can
intuitively navigate or enjoy the 17-speaker
Mark Levinson® audio (standard on Premier
grades). Attention to detail is everywhere:
as evidenced by the beautiful stitching and a
precision-engineered LED analogue clock
that forms the centrepiece of the dashboard.

PURE INNOVATION
Intelligent S-Flow technology automatically
provides climate control only to occupied
seats. To reduce power consumption further,
external air is used to demist the windscreen,
while warmer internal air is re-circulated in
the lower cabin to reduce heat losses.
Switch to ECO mode and the seat heaters
keep you warm, yet reduce the overall
power requirement. Nanoe® technology
helps purify the air, deodorises seats and
upholstery, and has a healthy moisturising
effect on your skin and hair.

The GS is equipped with a 12-speaker audio
system as standard. A 17-speaker Mark
Levinson® Premium Audio is available on
selected grades. Delivering 7.1-channel digital
surround sound, this top-of-the-range system
provides a live concert experience for enjoying
music and watching DVDs. The careful
positioning of the speakers gives beautifully
consistent sound for front and rear seat
occupants, resulting in a new level of definition,
atmosphere and quality.
The new Mark Levinson® digital amplifier
generates 125 Watts per channel and a total
of 835 Watts. GreenEDGE™ technology
has also been incorporated into each of the
17 speakers, resulting in power consumption
dropping to a sixth of that needed for its
predecessor, while power delivered from the
speakers has doubled.
Every GS model has a USB port for
connecting multimedia devices, as well as an
AUX socket and a 12 V power socket.

Advanced Pre-Crash Safety with Driver
Monitoring and Lane Keeping Assist is now
available as an option on GS 450h Premier
grade. To further increase safety, on all Premier
grades, Head-Up Display projects data
onto the windscreen. Equipped with Vehicle
Dynamics Integrated Management, the GS
is designed to avoid danger. However, in the
event of a collision, you are protected by a
strong passenger safety cell and ten airbags.

FEATURES / QUALITY
You’ll sense the build quality of the GS when you touch
the precision-machined aluminium audio controls and the
beautifully stitched leatherwork (standard from Luxury grade).
The paintwork is wet-sanded by hand after each foundation
coat (a time-consuming process normally reserved for
coach-built cars) and checked by eye as well as digitally
to ensure a perfect finish.
At our award-winning Tahara plant, GS production is overseen by
Lexus ‘Takumi’ personnel. These master craftspeople, trained to feel the
difference between two sides of a sheet of paper, check each car meets
our standards for smoothness before taking it for a final test drive.

The Lexus GS allows you to choose between different modes to suit your driving style, and to maximise
either the car’s efficiency or dynamic abilities.
1 / ECO / EV Mode In ECO mode, engine output, gear selection, air conditioning and heated seats
are controlled to reduce fuel consumption. Select EV (Electric Vehicle) mode, and the GS Full Hybrid
provides a near-silent drive, using no petrol and emitting zero CO2 or NOX. In EV, ECO and
NORMAL modes the instruments take on a tranquil blue colour, and the ecometer encourages
you to drive more efficiently.
2 / SPORT S / SPORT S+ Mode If you’re in a dynamic mood, select SPORT S mode and the
GS immediately retunes the throttle for rapid acceleration. Available on GS F SPORT and
Premier grades, SPORT S+ mode combines SPORT S mode’s enhanced powertrain output
with coordinated control of Adaptive Variable Suspension, Electric Power Steering and
Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management for a precise and exhilarating drive. Switching to
SPORT S and SPORT S+ modes illuminates the instruments in a vibrant red and, on the
GS, automatically changes the system power indicator into a tachometer.

HOW DOES LEXUS
HYBRID DRIVE WORK?
1 / Starting up, driving off When starting off, the powerful electric motor can
swiftly propel the GS up to 25mph with electric power supplied by the hybrid battery.
At this point the vehicle is almost silent, uses no petrol and produces zero emissions.
2 / Normal driving conditions At speeds above 25mph the ultra-smooth
direct-injection Atkinson Cycle petrol engine cuts in, almost silently, but still receives
assistance from the electric motor when required.
3 / Full throttle acceleration Accelerate powerfully and the electric motor instantaneously
supplements the petrol engine. Together they deliver a surge of torque for fast linear acceleration
precisely when you need it.
4 / Deceleration, stopping, braking When decelerating or coming to a halt, the petrol engine
turns off, cutting emissions to zero. Brake, or take your foot off the accelerator, and regenerative
braking harnesses the kinetic energy lost in other cars. It converts this into electrical energy for storage
in the hybrid battery, which is one reason why you never need to recharge a Lexus Full Hybrid.

The GS 450h delivers breathtaking
performance thanks to its powerful Lexus
Hybrid Drive. The intelligent partnership of a
3.5-litre V6 direct-injection Atkinson Cycle
petrol engine and a high-output electric motor
delivers 345 DIN hp.
Acceleration is smooth and incredibly fast
(0-62mph in 5.9 seconds) yet fuel consumption
has improved to 46.3mpg on certain models.
CO 2 emissions start at 141 g/km. Select EV
(Electric Vehicle) mode and the GS 450h
drives in near silence, using no petrol and emitting
zero CO2 or NOX. The new Lexus Full Hybrid
is practical too; its redesigned battery occupies
minimal space, resulting in a generous 451-litre

1 / Power control unit The ‘brain’ of Lexus Hybrid Drive, the power control unit (PCU) constantly optimises the
allocation of power resources – electric, petrol or a combination of both. The PCU also manages the process of
charging the hybrid battery, either by allocating engine power to drive the generator or through regenerative braking.
2 / Advanced hybrid battery Energy management of the 2-tier, 40-module nickel-metal hybrid battery is
controlled by sophisticated software. This ensures the battery is recharged as necessary during driving, so that external
charging is never required. The compact design contributes to significantly increased boot capacity.
3 / Regenerative braking When braking or decelerating, the vehicle’s wheels drive the high-output electric motor so that
it functions as a generator. Kinetic energy is then captured and converted into electric power. This is stored in the hybrid battery
for later use when driving in Electric Vehicle mode or accelerating swiftly.
4 / Class-leading hybrid performance The GS 300h delivers 223 DIN hp of super smooth power that lets you accelerate from

• Boot liner Made of plastic and with a raised lip around the edge, the boot liner
provides tough protection for carpets against mud, dirt and liquids. Its non-slip surface
pattern helps prevent bags and cases sliding around.
• Rear bumper protection plate Designed to protect the rear bumper paintwork against
scratching when sliding heavy or awkward loads into the boot. Available in silver or black finish.
• Horizontal cargo net Noise caused by cases or bags sliding in the boot area can be a
distraction to safe driving. The horizontal net provides a convenient solution by securing smaller
pieces of luggage firmly in place.
2 / Vertical cargo net Strong, woven, black nylon net with two compartments for holding small
items securely in your car’s boot area. The net fixes neatly on to pre-fitted side and floor hooks.

2/ Luxury ski and snowboard holder Carries six pairs of
skis or four snowboards. The holder is lockable and has a push
release for opening with gloved hands. It features a soft rubber
inner lining to firmly grip skis or snowboards without damaging
them and will slide to either side of the car for easier loading
and unloading.
3 / 4 / Thule Motion 800 ski box A high capacity yet streamlined
design. It can be opened from both sides for easy loading and unloading
and, for added security, the central locking key cannot be removed until
all locking points are closed. Internal volume: 460 litres.
Holds: 7 pairs of skis / 5 snowboards. Available in gloss black or gloss silver.
5 / Thule Pacific 700 ski box Aerodynamically shaped with a stylish
‘aeroskin’ textured lid. The box opens from both sides to simplify loading and
unloading and has a central locking system with a key that cannot be removed
until all the locking points are closed. Internal volume: 420 litres.
Holds: 6 pairs of skis / 4 snowboards. Finished in silver grey.
6 / Thule Pacific 200 luggage box Purposely designed to provide extra luggage
capacity. The box is streamlined for reduced air resistance, wind noise and vibration.
For convenience, the box can be opened from both sides to simplify loading and
unloading. It features enhanced security multi-point central locking.
Internal volume: 410 litres. In silver grey with an ‘aeroskin’ textured lid.

1 / Detachable towing hitch
The detachable towing hitch is especially designed so that you can
easily attach the towball whenever you need a towing capability and
remove it again when you don’t. The system is lockable, features a tough
anti-corrosion surface treatment and has a towing capacity of up to
1500kg (for 450h). A dedicated wiring kit is available separately.
2 / Socket adaptors Lexus socket adapters enable you to safely and securely
connect your car’s towing hitch wiring harness to that of a trailer or bicycle holder
even if the plugs don’t match. Available in three versions: 7 pin (car) to 13 pin (trailer),
13 pin (car) to 7 pin (trailer), and 13 pin (car) to 12N-12S double socket (trailer).
3 / Rear bicycle holder A lightweight high strength steel design for carrying one
or two bicycles. It attaches to a Lexus towing hitch (available separately) and features
security locking. The integral lights/licence plate holder is available with either a 7 pin
or 13 pin socket.
4 / Roof bicycle holder For use with the Lexus roof rack, the lockable lightweight
design has special grips to secure both the bicycle wheels and frame. Conveniently,
the frame grip can be adjusted at roof height.

THREE-YEAR COMPREHENSIVE WARRANTY
Any defect that is attributable to a manufacturing or assembly defect under
normal use is covered by your warranty. This provision applies for a period of
three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, with no mileage limit for
the first year. In the event of a breakdown immobilising your Lexus, the cost of
recovering it to the nearest Lexus Centre is also covered if that breakdown is
the result of a warrantable defect.
FIVE-YEAR HYBRID COMPONENT WARRANTY
For hybrid models, certain components within the hybrid drivetrain system
have a five-year or 60,000 miles warranty, whichever comes first.
THREE-YEAR SURFACE RUST AND PAINTWORK WARRANTY
The three-year, unlimited mileage warranty covers surface rust and paint
defects on any painted body panels due to a fault in material or workmanship.
12-YEAR CORROSION PERFORMANCE WARRANTY
A 12-year unlimited mileage warranty covers the vehicle against rust perforation
through any sheet metal body panel (subject to certain exclusions specified
in the warranty booklet) occurring as a result of a manufacturing or assembly
defect in the vehicle. The warranty booklet supplied with each new vehicle gives
full details. This warranty is also transferable to subsequent owners.
