on
When visiting Far Horizons 49er Village, you’re in
the heart of California’s Gold Country, also known
as the Motherlode, where the first discovery of gold
brought thousands to the California foothills and
opened up the West. The Gold Country’s year-round
recreation and attractions offer endless enjoyment
for the traveling public.
Bicycle Rides... Gold Country back roads
offer scenic opportunities for enjoyable bike excursions for road and mountain alike. There are several
recognized tour routes with a range of challenges.
Fishing... There’s plenty of great fishing in
nearby lakes and streams throughout the region.
Lower elevation lakes: Amador, Camanche and
Pardee, feature bass, catfish, trout, sunfish and blue
gill. Lakes and rivers at higher elevations offer
outstanding trout fishing.
✪
Gold-Panning... Modern-day gold
diggers are discovering that prospecting is
not a bad way to spend their time off. Pan the
local waters yourself or hitch up with several
local prospecting outfits which offer complete gold-panning trips in the area.
Golf... 49er Village is located near championship golf courses providing diverse
challenges in scenic settings. From rolling
hills to tall pines, you will have a pleasant
outing on our local courses. To call for tee

Wine Tasting... Discover the heart of
the wine country. Until recently, Amador
County was best known for its rich Zinfandel
wines but, today, the area is now producing
highly-acclaimed Cabernet, Sangiovese,
Barbera, Petite Sirah and full-bodied dessert
wines. A day’s tour takes travelers from the
fertile Jackson Valley to wineries just a few
miles outside of Plymouth.
Most of the county’s premium wineries
are located in the nearby Shenandoah Valley
area, where much of the Zinfandel vines are
located. Our local wineries, mostly small and
family-owned, provide a relaxed and personal wine tasting experience. Amador
County wines are also available at Café at
the Park. Be sure to pick up a box lunch at
Café at the Park to enjoy at one of the picnic
areas provided by many of the wineries.

In 1890, the 230 acre complex where the Preston Castle stands in Ione
was established as a progressive act toward rehabilitating, rather than
simply imprisoning, juvenile offenders. The Castle is the most
significant example of Romanesque Revival architecture in the
Mother Lode. The Preston School of Industry, officially opened on
July 1, 1894 and operated until 1960 when new facilities for the
school were completed. The building stood vacant and faded into
disrepair until 2001 when The Preston Castle Foundation leased for
the property for restoration. The Preston Castle has also been named a
California State Historical Landmark (#867) and is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places (NPS-75000422). For more

July 28 – 31
Join us among the sun-soaked vines for the annual Barbera Festival at
Terra D’Oro in the Shenandoah Valley —dozens of wineries, gourmet
food, art, crafts, and music. Discover your new favorite wine. Barbera
is becoming more and more popular in California. We see more
people excited about it, and asking about it, every day. Many
California producers offer a varietal Barbera. Barbera is a great food
wine and a great sipper. Yet Barbera remains fairly obscure. We want
to bring Barbera to the attention of the general wine buying public.

ABOUT YOUR SITE...
Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort is a 22.7 acre RV
complex featuring 329 sites with full hookups including
cable TV. All sites are level and paved with grass
medians between sites. We feature 30 and 50 amp
Standard, Premium and Waterfront sites. Standard sites
include all of the previous attributes. Premium sites
additionally feature location, spaciousness and shade.
Waterfront sites, our most requested type, back up to our
popular pond. Our new spacious Waterfront Plus and
Premium Plus sites offer longer / wider paved surface
areas and upgraded utilities. The following information
and guidelines will help you in getting settled in at Far
Horizons 49er Village RV Resort, the Gold Country’s
Premier RV Resort
Cable TV... All sites are equipped with Cable TV
hookups. Adapter cables are available for purchase at
Café at the Park. The Office also has cables for loan
with a deposit.
Clothes Lines... Clothes lines or outdoor drying of
laundry is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
(Please see Laundry, page 11.)
Hookups... All spaces are equipped with full hook-ups:
water, electric and sewer. State law requires sealed
sewer connections and proper power hookups. Please
use the utilities on your assigned site only.
Sewer... DO NOT DUMP YOUR TANK IF YOU
USE PRODUCTS CONTAINING FORMALDEHYDE.
Our sites feature a “closed” sewer system designed for
a completely sanitary hook-up. To hook up to this
system, connect your hose to the 3-inch male thread
pipe at your pedestal. Sewer adapters are available at
Café at the Park. Please do not place your drain hose
into the 4-inch vent receptacle located next to the
male sewer connections. Use a backflow prevention device when flushing your tank to prevent
contamination.
Water... 49er Village water pressure is generally
strong. The use of water regulators to protect RV
plumbing and hoses is recommended.
SITE SET-UP
Electric... Electric pedestals are equipped with either
50/30/20-amp or 30/20-amp receptacles.
Irrigation... Many of our sites are equipped with an
automatic lawn irrigation system. This system is
programmed to water lawns late at night. To protect
your property, please be sure to remove items such as
chairs and equipment from the lawns at night/before
going to bed.
Parking... Park your vehicle(s) on the asphalt pad.
Parking on the street, lawns, or in any vacant RV space
within the Resort is not allowed. Temporary extra
parking with fee is available in the lot behind the
Laundry. A maximum of two non-habitable vehicles per
site (additional fees apply).
Storage... No storage of items, other than tow dollies,
under or around your RV or on your RV site is permitted. (See Site Set-Up).
Tents... No tents allowed. The design of our facility
and the terms of our license to operate require that all of
our guests sleep inside their RVs. We hope that this
does not interfere with your fun, but we must insist that
guests not pitch tents.
Visit our website
www.49ervillage.com
In order to maximize your
site usage, park your RV as
far back in the site as
possible, making sure not to
block the electrical pedestal. The driver’s wheels
should be close to the
asphalt edge.
If a car dolly is used, it
must be stored under the RV
at the rear of the site. There
must be room at the front of
the site to park the tow
vehicle without protruding
into the street. A maximum
of one habitable vehicle is allowed on a site.
DO NOT DRIVE OR PARK ON GRASS
