Subject: Selection for the post of Director (Technical), NHPC Limited in the
Schedule "A" of CPSE.
Sir,
The NHPC Limited is a schedule 'A' Mini-ratna CPSE in power sector under the
administrative control of Ministry of Power. PESB vide their 'Ietter NO.7/11/2015-PESB
dated 26.3.2015 have requested this-Ministry to forward the names of suitable candidates'
for the post of DIrector (Technical) in NHPC. The post of Director (Technical) carries
Schedule 'B' scale of pay of Rs.75,000-1,00,000/- (revis~). For further details of the job'
description for the post, application format etc. as notified by PESB may be referred .

You are requested to kindly sponsor names of suitable candidates fer this post
together with their up-to-date bio~ata in the prescribed .format {in duplicate} so as to reach
this Ministry latest by 20th May, 2015. Advance action may be taken to keep the ACRs
for· last 5 years, of those candidates ready along with their latest vigilance profile [(i)

Sub: Selection for the post of DIRECTOR (TECH), NHPC LIMITED in schedule 'A' of the
CPSE.
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) is seeking qualified candidates for the post of
DIRECTOR (TECH), NHPC LIMITED in schedule "A" of the CPSE, the scale of pay of the post
being Rs. 75,000-1,00,0001- (REVISED) . A copy of the job description for the post is enclosed.
It is requested that names of candidates seniority-wise who are found suitable for the said post
as per the requirements indicated in the job description alongwith their up-to-date bio-data (in
the prescribed form) duly; endorsed may kindly be forwarded to PESB by 28 May 2015 . It is
also requested that advanCe action may be taken to keep the ACRs for last 5 years, of those
candidat~s ready alongwith their latest vigilance profile [(i) penalty imposed, if any during the

through conventional and non-conventional sources with strong environment conscience. Nf- PC
is a schedule 'A' Mini-ratna Category-I PSE in power sector under the administrative contro . of
Ministry of Power.
Its Registered and Corporate offices are at Faridabad, Haryana.
The authorized and paid up capital of the Company was RS.15,OOO crores and Rs .11 ,07e .66
crores respectively as on March 31, 2014.
The shareholding of the Government of India in the company is 85 .95%.
2. JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Director (Technical) is a member of Board of D i r~ctors and reports to the Chairman ::.:! nd
Managing Director. He is :responsible for formulating the Corporate objectives and policies with
respect to entire gamut of engineering activities from concept to commissioning of hydro power
stations consistent with thEr Corporate mission of achieving technological excellence in the r eid
of hydro power generatior;pvithin and outside the country.

II. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The candidate should be an enginee~ing graduate or equivalent preferably in
Mechanical/Electrical ' Engineering with good academic record from a recognized
university/institution. He should have adequate experience at a senior level in a large
organization of repute. Persons with experience of working in hydel power plants will ha ve
added advantage.
Minimum qualification is relaxable in the case of internal candidates and Government
officers with rel'e vant and adequate background and experience .

The minimum length of service required in- the eligible scale will be one year for inte ' nal

payor Major Genera~ in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force, on the datE of

4. DURATION OF APPOaNTMENT
The appOintment sha,lI be for a period of five years or upto the date of superannua j on
whichever is earlier.

6. CERTIFICATION BY C~ i NDIOATE
a) Candidate has to ~, l:bmit his/her willingness for the post at the time of interview it~.2If

give his/her willingnes~:i; he/she will not be interviewed.
b) If any of the candidates who appeared for the interview and is selected by the PE~~ B ,
gives his/her unwillingness after the interview is held, but before the appointment is
processed, would be debarred for a period of two years for being considered for a BO i~ rd
level post in any PSE other than the one to which the. candidate belongs.
c) If any candidate gives his/her unwillingness after the issue of offer of appointment, he/ ~·h e·
would be debarred for a period of two years from the date of offer of appointment frDm
being considered for a Board level post in any PSE other than the one to which me
candidate belongs. ·
d) In the above cases, no request for relaxation or otherwise would be entertained.
