SACPAC was formed in January, 2012, after the 2011 city of Tucson elections. In those elections, Republican candidates were not properly funded for their campaigns. We wanted to change that at the local, state, and federal levels. We are a 527 non-profit, voluntary manned PAC, registered with the State of Arizona and the Federal Election Commission, and any county where we may operate and donate to candidates. It is our hope that you can take a few minutes and donate at least $5 to help future conservative candidates, and future conservative issues, triumph in the political arena. Our board of directors, made up of conservative representatives from Pima and Santa Cruz Counties, makes the decisions on who and what we give money to, and in your best interests. You may mail your donation to: SACPAC PO Box 1504 Sahuarita Arizona, 85629 or go to the website at http://www.sacpac2012.com/, and use the donate button. You may also set up monthly donations with your credit card. Thank you so much, for the SACPAC Board of Directors. Board of Directors Don Woolley (Chairman/founder) Sue Mayes (Green Valley) Patti Woolley (Sahuarita) Gene Cafarelli (Sonoita) Dave Bareiss, Treasurer (Sonoita) Marian Bareiss (Sonoita) Angie Anderson (Green Vly) Raffle Information on Back Page * WWW.REPCLUBGVS.ORG * REPUBLICAN CLUB GREEN VALLEY - SAHUARITA NEWS * The President’s Message - Kay Kohler As Republicans we have had a rough six months. It doesn’t seem as if the conservative message is getting across to the public, who seem more and more to be “low information voters”. For that reason it is encouraging that SOMEONE has stepped up to support Conservative candidates. That someone is SAC-PAC, the Southern Arizona Conservative Political Action Committee. It has absolutely no association with the Republican Club, but we support it philosophically. One of the burning issues of our time is that, without money our conservative candidates cannot compete. So, if you support conservative candidates, please see the information in this newsletter about SAC-PAC. If you aren’t willing to give directly to conservative candidates you can donate to SAC-PAC, and they will support good conservative candidates. Then we can win! While the Republican Club will be on ‘hiatus’ for the months of June and July, we will start up again on August 23 with a special speaker: Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ-04). And we are planning an Ice Cream Social in August, so keep your eyes peeled! Kay Republican Club GV -Sahuarita News Page 3 What do you know about Agenda 21? By: Kay Kohler What have you heard about “sustainable development”? Are you ready (and willing) to turn over your private property rights to a government agency? On Friday, March 22, 40 lucky people at the Republican Club got to hear about in an eyeopening, chilling presentation, which wakened many of us to the imminent threat that Agenda 21 poses to our freedom. “Agenda 21” began at a United Nations Conference on Environment and Development for the 21st Century (the “Earth Summit”) in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, and was supported by then-President George H.W. Bush. It sounded like a good idea, to encourage the entire world to be environmentally aware and responsible. Its purpose was to encourage “sustainable development”, implying that resources were to be used carefully. However, as time has gone on, it appears that Agenda 21 is a frontal attack on national and individual sovereignty. It espouses oneworld government, envisioning a North American Union comprised of Canada, the United States and Mexico, among other things. If implemented, the tenets of Agenda 21 will take away private property rights and transform America (and everywhere else) in ways you could never imagine. The purpose of Agenda 21 is to INVENTORY and CONTROL all land, water and minerals, all construction, plants and means of production, all energy, education and all information…a scary proposition. The basic idea is that people are not good stewards of their land, so the government should control land use, resulting in the loss of private property. People will be encouraged to move into cities, to stop using automobiles, to live where they work. Its purpose is to restrict choice, limit private funds and take away freedoms. One tenet of Agenda 21 is that Americans have too much money, too much power, and too many resources, and its goal is to redistribute wealth so that Americans are more like the rest of the world. Why not encourage prosperity elsewhere, so others can have Americalike wealth? Why is it necessary to bring Americans down? Agenda 21 is supported by over 1200 state and local governments, including the City of Tucson; the City Council joined The International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), an organization supporting Agenda 21, during the tenure of Mayor Bob Walkup. While many prominent Democrats have spoken out in favor of the ideas of Agenda 21, others have rejected it. There is an organization called Democrats against Agenda 21, and many Republicans also oppose it. Alabama has passed legislation to prohibit participation in Agenda 21 but Arizona rejected such legislation. Agenda 21 is encroaching on us daily. The more you know about Agenda 21, you will understand how its tenets are being sneaked into regulations all around us. BE AWARE!! To learn more, go to our website and click on "Agenda 21 for Dummies" in the You Tube section. Please note that the Sahuarita TeaParty is having a speaker on Agenda 21 on May 2. KEEP INFORMED, COME TO OUR MEETINGS One tenet of Agenda 21 is that Americans have too much money, too much power, and too many resources, and its goal is to redistribute wealth so that Americans are more like the rest of the world.
