RƯỢU VANG PHÁP
Hiện nay, sản phẩm rượu vang Pháp giữ vị trí hàng đầu trên thị trường toàn cầu với 50 triệu hecto lít rượu (1 hecto
lít =100 lít) được sản xuất vào năm 2011. Với diện tích trồng nho lớn thứ 2 trên thế giới sau Tây Ban Nha, nước Pháp
đóng góp 30,8% về mặt giá trị và 14,1% về mặt số lượng của rượu vang xuất khẩu trên toàn thế giới.
Với những vùng sản xuất rượu nho vốn được hình thành từ thời đế chế La Mã, nước Pháp là miền đất của sản xuất
rượu vang có lịch sử lâu đời. Khí hậu ôn đới, sự phong phú của giống nho và sự đa dạng của đất trồng đã tạo điều kiện
cho việc phát triển ngành nghề này trên toàn lãnh thổ.
Với 13 vùng sản xuất rượu vang trên cả nước (Alsace, Beaujolais, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Corsica,
Côtes du Rhône, Jura, Languedoc-Roussillon, Loire Valley, Provence, Savoie và South West), nước Pháp cung
cấp tất cả loại rượu phổ biến như vang đỏ, vang hồng, trắng (với các độ ngọt khác nhau cho mỗi loại : ít ngọt, ngọt vừa,
ngọt đậm), rượu vang sủi tăm và rượu vang có pha thêm rượu mạnh. Trong đó, các dòng sản phẩm rượu nho của Pháp
trải rộng từ những loại rẻ tiền & đơn giản đến những loại cao cấp đắt tiền được bán trên toàn thế giới.
Trong số 56 giống nho phổ biến tại Pháp (như Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon
Blanc, và Syrah), rất nhiều loại giờ đây được trồng rộng rãi trên toàn thế giới. Nhiều phương thức làm rượu vang và
phong cách rượu vang đặc trưng bắt nguồn từ nước Pháp giờ đây đã và đang bị sao chép và mô phỏng ở các quốc
gia sản xuất rượu vang khác.
Hai thuật ngữ chính có ý nghĩa quyết định trong hệ thống sản phẩm rượu cao cấp của Pháp: Khái niệm “terroir”
(ruộng nho), vốn gắn kết loại rượu vang với vùng cụ thể nơi giống nho được trồng và làm ra rượu, và hệ thống
“Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée” (viết tắt là AOC: Nhãn hiệu có nguồn gốc được kiểm định). Những quy tắc “
Định danh theo địa phương” này xác định các giống nho và quy trình sản xuất rượu vang được cho phép tại vài trăm
vùng tại Pháp có tên gọi xác định, có thể bao gồm toàn bộ khu vực, làng riêng lẻ hoặc thậm chí các vườn nho cụ thể.
Không như các loại rượu vang của Thế Giới Mới, Pháp không có truyền thống đặt nhãn hiệu rượu vang với các chi tiết
của các giống nho khác nhau được sử dụng. Lượng thông tin trên nhãn rượu vang Pháp thay đổi tùy thuộc vào
khu vực làm ra loại rượu đó, và vào mức độ mà loại rượu đó được phân loại. Thông thường, nhãn hiệu ít nhất sẽ
chỉ ra được mức độ phân loại rượu cũng như tên của nhà sản xuất. Đôi khi, nhãn hiệu chỉ đơn giản là khu vực rộng lớn
hơn nơi rượu đã được sản xuất, nhưng một số nhãn hiệu, đặc biệt là đối với rượu vang chất lượng cao hơn, cũng sẽ
bao gồm các chi tiết của từng làng xã, và thậm chí cả vườn nho cụ thể mà tại đó rượu được làm ra.
Liên quan đến rượu vang Pháp tại Việt Nam, sau khi có sự giảm nhẹ trong năm 2010, số lượng rượu vang Pháp xuất
khẩu sang Việt Nam bắt đầu tăng trở lại vào năm 2011 với mức tăng trưởng 17,7% về giá trị và 3% về số lượng so với
năm trước. Ngày nay, Pháp vẫn là nước xuất khẩu rượu vang dẫn đầu về giá trị tại Việt Nam, theo sau là Chile. Số
lượng nhập khẩu rượu vang Pháp của Việt Nam trong năm 2011 là 28.370 hecto lít rượu vang với giá trị là 11.508.000
USD.

FRENCH WINES
French wines hold the first position in the global market with 50 million hectoliters produced in 2011.
France has the second-largest total vineyard area behind Spain and accounted for 30,8% of world export in value and
14,1% in volume.
The country is an historic producer of wine with many of France’s regions dating their wine-making history to Roman
times. The temperate climate, the diversity of grape varieties and the variety of French soils favor the wine cultivation
on the whole territory.
Thanks to its 13 wine regions throughout the country, Alsace, Beaujolais, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne,
Corsica, Côtes du Rhône, Jura, Languedoc-Roussillon, Loire Valley, Provence, Savoie, South West, France is
able to produce all common styles of wine - red, rosé, white (dry, semi-sweet and sweet), sparkling and fortified. In
most of these styles, the French production ranges from cheap and simple versions to some expensive high-end
wines sold internationally.
Many of the 56 grape varieties commonly found in France such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir,
Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah are now planted throughout the world. France is as well the source of several
wine-making practices and styles of wine that are copied and imitated in other producing countries.
Two central concepts rules the higher end French wines system: the notion of “terroir”, which links the style of the
wines to the specific locations where the grapes are grown and the wine is made, and the “Appellation d’Origine
Contrôlée” (AOC) system. The “Appellation” rules define which grape varieties and winemaking practices are allowed
in each of France’s several hundred geographically defined appellations, which can cover entire regions, individual villages or even specific vineyards.
Unlike New World wines, France has no tradition of labeling wines with details of the grape varieties used.
The amount of information included on French wine labels varies depending on which region the wine was
made in, and what level of classification the wine carries.
As a minimum, labels will usually state that classification, as well as the name of the producer. Sometimes that will simply be the wider region where the wine was made, but some labels, especially for higher quality wines, will also include
details of the individual village or commune, and even the specific vineyard where the wine was sourced.
Concerning French wines in Vietnam, after a slight decrease in 2010, French wines exports to Vietnam in started rising
again in 2011 with a growth of 17,7 % in value and 3 % in volume compared to 2010. Today, France is still the first wine
exporter in value in Vietnam just in front of Chile.

RƯỢU VANG ITALIA
Rượu vang Italia đã có bề dày lịch sử 4000 năm. Người Hy Lạp và Etruscan cổ đại đã thực hành nghệ thuật làm rượu
vang trên nhiều địa phương của bán đảo này. Sau đó, người La Mã đã phổ biến niềm đam mê Bacchus đến từng ngõ
ngách của đế chế này, cũng như phát triển công việc kinh doanh rượu vang thịnh vương trên vùng đất Địa Trung Hải
và những vùng đất xa hơn.
Sản xuất rượu vang ở Italia phát triển nhanh chóng vào thế kỷ 19 cùng với phương pháp ủ rượu ngày càng phổ biến
và được nâng cao. Những tên tuổi như Chianti, Barolo, và Marsala được toàn châu Âu và thế giới biết tới. Người nông

ITALIAN WINES
Italy’s wine heritage dates back some 4,000 years. The ancient Greeks and the Etruscans practiced the art of winemaking in various parts of the peninsula. The Romans propagated the cult of Bacchus, god of wine and intoxication, to all
corners of the empire, developing a flourishing trade in wine throughout the Mediterranean lands and beyond.
Winemaking in Italy advanced rapidly through the 19th century, as methods of vinification and aging were improved.
Such names as Chianti, Barolo and Marsala became known in Europe and beyond. Growers took advantage of the long,
sunny growing season, forcing yields upward and aiming at quantity rather than quality.
In the 20th century, due also to the devastating pandemic of phylloxera, a reorganization of the production was in order.
The denominazione d’origine laws, passed in the 1960s, provided the basis for what came to be known as the “modern renaissance” of Italian wine. The list of DOC wines now includes nearly 300 zones, delimited geographically, within
which a multitude of wines is controlled for authenticity. Less than 20% of the total production is awarded this prestigious
brand. A growing number of wines can use the recently introduced category of Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT),
which applies to wines from a specific area, which range from locally to internationally acclaimed.
Despite the reduction in the 20th century, Italy is still one of the highest ranking countries when it comes to the number
of types of vines planted. This heritage of vines allows Italy to produce a very wide range of distinctive wines, including
rosso, or red, bianco, or white, rosato or rosé, frizzante and spumante, or sparkling and novello to be drunk very young.
Numerous Italian wines stand with the international elite. But what is perhaps most encouraging is that Italy’s premium
production continues to expand and improve. Italian growers have become increasingly committed to meeting the increasing demand for wines of quality and character at every level of price.

TRADE BETWEEN ITALY AND VIETNAM
Direct exports of wine from Italy to Vietnam in 2011 have grown by over 13% against 2010, reaching nearly 1,3 million
Euro FOB. There is no doubt that a sizable part of imports into Vietnam coming from non-producing countries are referred to Italian wines.

AGRICOLA GAVIOLI
Nằm trong lòng các hầm ủ rượu với khung cảnh trữ tình và góc nhìn trải rộng từ Monte Cetona đến gần Val d’Orcia,
vườn nho có diện tích 10 hecta nằm ở độ cao 300 m trên mực nước biển. Đặc điểm đất ở đây có phần lớn vôi từ núi
lửa, mềm, tơi và tươi mát bên trong nhưng khô cằn ở bề mặt. Thổ nhưỡng rất đặc biệt đã cho phép nho chín từ từ và
bảo quản tốt mùi hương, được cảm nhận rõ nhất qua 2 loại rượu Chardonnay và Pinot Noir, là cơ sở tuyệt vời cho loại
rượu sủi bọt. Hiện nay khoảng từ 2800 đến 3000 cây nho đang được trồng trên mỗi hecta.
Cây nho ở đây được xén cành, đặt gần các cây lâu năm và nhánh có nhiều mấu. Bên cạnh loại rượu Chardonnay và
Pinot Noir, nhiều loại nho tạo nên dòng rượu truyền thống Tuscan cũng được trồng tại nơi này như Sangiovese và
Chianti Malvasia. Có thể kể tên một số dòng hiếm, được sản xuất với số lượng giới hạn như Chianti Superiore D.O.C.G.
, rượu vàng đỏ Sergavio Supertuscan và rượu vang trắng Tuscan I.G.T. Cuối cùng, mặc dù chai Vinsanto Del Chianti

Situated below the cellars, in a romantic setting with views extending from Monte Cetona to the nearby Val d’Orcia, the
vineyards extend for 10 hectares ( 22 acres ), at 300 metres a.s.l. The soil consists mostly of volcanic tufa, loose and
structured, fresh at some depth but dry and barren on the surface. A very particular microclimate allows a more gradual
ripening to take place and a better preservation of the fruity aromas of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir , providing a good
base for a sparkling wine . There are between 2800 and 3000 vines per hectare.
The vines are trained to a spur - pruned cordon and a classical guyot. Pruning is close to the old wood, the shoots having few nodes. Besides the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the traditional Tuscan vines are grown, the Sangiovese and the
Chianti Malvasia. These produce limited quantities of Chianti Superiore D.O.C.G., of Sergavio Supertuscan Red and
Tuscan White I.G.T. Finally, the traditional Vinsanto Del Chianti D.O.C. is produced in limited quantities, but enough for
it to be known for its high quality.

AZIENDA AGRICOLA RIVETTO
Gia đình Rivetto đã kinh doanh và sản xuất rượu vang từ năm 1902. Tổng diện tích trang trại hiện nay là 35 hecta. Trong
số đó 22 hecta trồng các giống nho Nascetta, Dolcetto, Barbera và Nebbiolo đặc trưng Barolo của vùng Serralunga

Caparzo có 200 hecta đất và trồng nho trên 90hecta. Tổng sản lượng sản xuất hàng năm là 38.000 thùng (455.000
chai). Caparzo có trang trại nho nằm ở 4 vị trí riêng biệt, xung quanh vùng Montalcino từ đó tạo nên loại rượu thượng

FÈLSINA
Trang trại Fèlsina nằm ở biên giới cực nam của vùng Chianti Classico, bên cạnh thành phố Siena. Trang trại gồm có
14 ngôi nhà đã xây dựng từ rất lâu, nằm trên diện tích 588 hecta đất, trong đó 94 hecta dành để trồng nho. Ông chủ
Domenico Poggiali, người có tư duy kinh doanh và sáng tạo, đã mua lại trang trại này vào năm 1966 cùng với con trai
Giuseppe, đã mang lại diện mạo mới cho Fèlsina với những vườn nho mới và hầm ủ mới. Giuseppe Mazzocolin, con

Fèlsina estate lies along the southernmost border of the Chianti Classico region, beside Siena. The estate consists of
14 farmhouses, dating back to Middle Ages, on 588 hectars of land, 94 of which are planted with vines. The enterprising
and creative spirits Domenico Poggiali, who purchased the property in 1966 with his son Giuseppe, enabled Fèlsina to
be reborn with new vineyards and new cellars. Giuseppe Mazzocolin, Poggiali’s son in law, along with his friends and
consulting enologist Franco Bernabei, aimed at realizing the full potential of Sangiovese grape in each vineyard. Fèlsina
produces 40.000 cases each year, including Chianti Classico (100% Sangiovese), Riserva Rancia (100% Sangiovese),
Fontalloro (100% Sangiovese), I Sistri (100% Chardonnay) and Maestro Raro (100% Cabernet Sauvignon). Giovanni

Fèlsina’s passion for Sangiovese in no way diminishes its determination to express the distinctiveness of Fèlsina through
non-traditional varieties as well, but exploration of the potential of Sangiovese remains the main objective of these many
years of labour, efforts now extended to Castello di Farnetella the other property located in the area of Sinalunga, in the
Chianti Colli Senesi production area.

quan trọng của Consortium (tạm dịch: Tổ hợp) là sản xuất rượu vang tại Ý. Tổ hợp sản xuất 30% tổng sản lượng

chứng nhận DOC-DOCG và IGT.
Gruppo Cevico finds its roots over 50 years ago and today is definitely one of the most important business company
in wine production in Italy. It represents the 30% of the total wine production of the Emilia-Romagna region and
2,5% of the national one. Currently in Italy, it is the first producer of Bag-in-Box wine and the second of packaged
one (including bottles, glass bottles, jugs, drums, tetrapaks, P.E.T., etc.). Italian Trading Srl is an Italian ImportExport company founded in 1996 and based in Rome which in 2007 Italian Trading joined Gruppo Cevico becoming a partner of the Consortium. At present, Italian Trading represent Gruppo Cevico in some different Countries
of Southeast Asia, such as: Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, Union of Myanmar and Vietnam exporting a wide range of
wines from entry level products to very high quality ones coming from the 12 vinification factories and 3 main bottling plants which belong to the Consortium. The Consortium include 15 vineries located between Rimini and Imola
(Northern Italy). 4,500 grape-growers work every day on 6.700 hectares of vineyards producing more than 1 million
hl of wine annually, of which the 80% is under DOC-DOCG and IGT denomination status.

Tenuta San Giorgio nằm thoai thoải trên ngọn đồi về phía Tây Nam cách mực nước biển 350-450m. Trong Castelnuovo
dell’Abate, vùng đất nhỏ xung quanh hạt Tuscan thuộc vùng Montalcino. Thành phố được biết đến với vẻ đẹp cảnh quan
thiên nhiên và nghệ thuật lôi cuốn. Tọa lạc sát với Benedictine Abbey of Sant’Antimo, một kiệt tác La Mã tuyệt vời của

Tenuta San Giorgio is nestled into smooth hills with southwest exposition at 350-450 m a.s.l in Castelnuovo dell’Abate,
little enclave in the Tuscan county of Montalcino, a town known for the beauty of its landscapes and the alluring art.
Close by lies the Benedictine Abbey of Sant’Antimo, a breathtaking Romanic masterpiece of the 12th century. Guido
Folonari, heir to one of the most historical wine families in Italy transformed this estate in only a few years into one of
the top players of the Brunello scene. Of the 46 ha of land, only ten are dedicated to vineyards, while another twelve to
olive groves. Soils composed of clay mixed with areas rich in chalk or loam sediments, mild temperatures and dry and
windy climate sign a very particular microclimate that enables to obtain, in this area devoted to Sangiovese grosso for
the production of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, noble wines of complex structure and elegant perfumes.

Trang trại Cusona đã tồn tại từ năm 994. Nó tọa lạc ngay trước thị trấn trung cổ San Gimignano. Gia đình Strozzi Guicciardini là gia đình mang ảnh hưởng lịch sử văn hóa của Ý và Châu Âu, có người con Francesco Guicciardini –người
từng là bạn và đã là thư ký cho nhân vật chính trị, nhà triết học và nhà sử học lỗi lạc Machiavelli từ khi ông mới bắt đầu

The Strozzi Guicciardini families have influenced the history of Italy and Europe. Francesco Giucciardini, for whom
Machiavelli started his political career as secretary, was a political figure, philosopher and historian.The Strozzi were
powerful bankers, heads of State and mercenary commanders, and direct rivals of the Medici. Piero Strozzi was Marshal
of France, his bust is displayed in Gallery of Battles in Versailles. Other famous ancestors are Sir Winston Churchill
and Lisa Gherardini, better known as Monna Lisa. In XX century Francesco Guicciardini, Luisa Strozzi’s husband, was
Minister of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs. At his time Cusona became a National example of avant-garde business. In
the 70’s, Prince Girolamo Strozzi started selling the wine around the world, a business he still runs with his wife Irina and
his two daughters Natalia and Irina Jr. In 1998 the wine production extended to Maremma area (Bolgheri, Scansano,
Montemassi) and Pantelleria. Amongst the known labels is the Vernaccia di San Gimignano,produced for the first time
in 1200 and exalted by Dante, Michelangelo and Boccaccio.The Medici Court enjoyed the Vernaccia and also sent it to
the Pope. The wine Millanni was produced to mark the 1000 year anniversary of the Estate.

RƯỢU VANG TÂY BAN NHA
Tây Ban Nha có nhiều diện tích trồng nho hơn bất cứ quốc gia nào trên thế giới. Có tới hơn 600 biến thể của nho gốc Tây Ban Nha mà
riêng hai mươi loại trong số đó đã chiếm tới 80% tổng sản lượng nho.
Xét về tính lịch sử, điểm đặc trưng của rượu vang Tây Ban Nha là đều được ủ lâu hơn nhiều so với bình thường trong thùng gỗ, rượu
được ủ 25 năm trong thùng gỗ trước khi đóng chai không phải là chuyện lạ; thậm chí tới bây giờ, những người mua nhà cổ tại các
vùng làm rượu còn có thể bị bất ngờ bởi những loại rượu vang hàng trăm năm tuổi vẫn còn được ủ trong các thùng gỗ dưới hầm rượu
của ngôi nhà. Truyền thống đó đã được cải tiến cho phù hợp với xu hướng hiện đại, khoa học và công nghệ làm rượu được áp dụng
để tìm ra những loại rượu thơm và phức hợp hơn nhiều đáp ứng sự trông đợi của khẩu vị ngày càng khắt khe của người thưởng rượu.
Tuy nhiên, truyền thống vẫn được giữ gìn và hầu hết các nhà làm rượu đều để thời gian ủ vang dài hơn bất cứ nơi nào trên thế giới.
Sự nhẫn nại trong việc ủ rượu và việc sử dụng các loại nho bản địa (trong đó nổi bất là Tempranillo hay Tinto Fino, Parellada, Albariño,
Xarelo…tất cả đều là nho 100% Tây Ban Nha) đem đến đặc tính sáng giá của rượu vang Tây Ban Nha là có thể phô diễn từng lớp
hương vị phức hợp của hoa quả, gỗ và đất.
Tại Tây Ban Nha có rất nhiều Denominación de Origen (Rượu vang chất lượng cao được làm tại một số vùng cụ thể) một danh hiệu
vốn phải vượt qua những tiêu chuẩn chất lượng khắt khe để có thể đạt được. Tùy theo là Crianza, Reserva và Gran Reserva mà rượu
phải đạt thời gian ủ tối thiếu trong thùng gỗ sồi (6 tháng tới 1 năm cho Crianza, một năm cho Reserva và 18 tháng tới 2 năm cho Gran
Reserva) sau đó phải được đóng và ủ trong chai thêm ít nhất là 2 năm đối với rượu Crianza và tới 5 năm với rượu Gran Reserva.
Các vùng rượu nổi tiếng nhất:
Rioja: Những cánh đồng nho trải dài suốt dòng sông Ebro bao phủ tới 123 ngàn mẫu đất phía Bắc Tây Ban Nha. Đây là tên vùng nho
Tây Ban Nha được biết tới nhiều nhất, và có khởi nguồn từ “Con đường Santiago”, con đường hành hương của người Cơ Đốc giáo

SPANISH WINES
Spain has more land planted with grapes than any other nation in the world. There are more than 600 varieties of natives Spanish
grapes, twenty of which account for 80% of the production.
Historically, the most distinctive feature of Spanish wine was exceptionally long aging in barrels. Twenty five years in the barrel before
being bottled was perfectly normal; even today, the buyers of old houses in the winemaking regions can be surprised to find centenary
wines resting in barrels in his cellar.
That tradition has adapted to modern times adding all the new science and technology of winemaking looking for the more aromatic and
complex wines that today’s refined tastes seek. Nonetheless and keeping the traditions, most of the producers age the wine in barrels
longer than in any other part in the world. The dedicated patience aging the wine and the general use of indigenous grapes (highlighting
Tempranillo or Tinto Fino, Parellada, Albariño, Xarel-lo… all 100% Spanish) gives to Spanish wines their own prize winning personality
showing layers of complexity of fruit, wood and earthy aromas.
In Spain there are Numerous Denominación de Origen (Quality Wines Produced in Specified Regions (QWPSR)) that must meet very
strict quality criteria to be awarded that label. For each vintner’s highest quality wines: Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva, the wine
must start aging in oak barrels a minimum time (6 months or 1 year for Crianza, one year for Reserva and 18 months or 2 years for
“Gran Reserva”), and must be carefully aged in bottle later between a minimum time of 2 years (Crianza), up to 5 years (Gran Reserva).
Most Recognized Regions:
Rioja: The vineyards, running along the Ebro River, cover more than 123.000 acres in the northern part of Spain. This region, without
doubt the most recognized Spanish wine name, starts its tradition around the Camino de Santiago, peregrination of Christians to the
Santiago city of Spain. The signature of Rioja wines is the use of Tempranillo grape, long oak aging and an earthy and elegant flavor.
Ribera del Duero: About 125km north to Madrid and among rocky plateaus dominated by medieval castles, lies this famous wine region
that takes its name from the river that waters scarcely its lands. One of the most extreme climates in Spain with scorching summers
and fiercely cold winters, Ribera del Duero vines concentrate all its energy into the grape. This value on each grape obtained initiated
a quality control that used the perfect one for each Crianza, Reserva or Gran Reserva. Ribera del Duero is distinguished by the use of
Fino Tinto (a Tempranillo variant), very long oak aging, and an spice and earthy aroma with vanilla hints.
Penedés: While Rioja and Ribera del Duero specialized in red wine, Penedés focuses on the production of white wine and Cava -The
famous Spanish Sparkling wine-. Cava, a bubbly made mostly with a mix of the macabeo, parellada and xarel-lo grapes, is the most
consumed Sparking Wine in the world. Several quality brands hold their prestige and quality in international fairs and prizes.
Other noteworthy regions: Many of the less internationally known Spanish wine regions are gaining the spotlight when more and more
wine experts are finding an increasing amount of “prodigy children” in areas that have been for years outside of their radar. Toro, Yecla,
Somontano, La Mancha and Valdepeñas are names that coming as underdogs are winning the palates of international experts and
media worldwide.

wild red berry fruit and vanilla flavours coming through at the end.

With ample experience since 1964 in making great wines, Santiago Ijalba starts his own personal project, a familiar
winery. The winemaking is done with a rigorous selection of grapes from 100 hectares of vineyards of La Rioja Alta.
Ageing the wines are made in French and American oak barrels, which currently has 1,400 units. Santiago Ijalba wines
represent an important step in his long career as a winemaker and are an expression of what the he describes as his

Characteristics Wine made in exceptional vintages from tempranillo grapes growing in four particular vineyards in Gimileo, in the heart
of the Rioja Alta. On their arrival at the bodega the grapes are lightly destalked in the traditional way. Temperaturecontrolled fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with over-sized entrances. The fermenting wine is macerated with manual pumping-over until it arrives at its maximum potential for ‘crianza’ ageing, first in French oak barrels
for 13 months and a further 2 months in American oak. As the wine has not been filtered at any stage, some sediment
may occur in the bottle as a result of its natural state.
Dark black-cherry red with a slight tawny rim. The attractive colour and brightness as well as the powerful nose of
ripe dark fruits are indicators of the quality of the grapes used. An intense nose with touches of candied orange peel,
aromatic herbs, black fruits and medicinal hints. Full-bodied in the mouth with some richness of texture, good acidity,
warming and intense. Medicinal back-taste. A wine with great balance and presence.

Characteristics The best grapes, coming from low-yielding vineyards with an average age of 60 years, found in Gimileo and Haro, in the
heart of la Rioja. In the bodega the grapes are destemmed, then cold-macerated for 3 days before alcoholic fermentation in small tanks with temperature control following ecological guidelines. Further maceration post-fermentation is
carried out with pumping-over by hand to achieve the wine’s maximum potential for 17 months ageing in French oak
barrels.
Careful handling and ageing have resulted in an intensely dark wine with a tawny rim indicating early signs of ageing
well. On the nose there are reminders of very ripe fruit and vanilla smoothly blended with spicy, medicinal, cocoa
and roasted aromas indicative of the long barrel time. Intense but balanced and silky in the mouth, long-lasting and
with an attractiveness that will open up and improve for hours in the glass.

Characteristics Wine from one of our oldest vineyards in Gimileo, at the heart of La Rioja Alta made only in years classified as ‘excellent’
by the Consejo Regulador, the appellation body of La Rioja. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place with long
periods of maceration and gentle pumping-over to produce wine with considerable structure, tannin, concentration
and colour, making it highly suitable for a long period of ageing. This lasts for 26 months in French and American oak
barrels with the periodic racking carried out traditionally using gravity to move wine from one barrel to another. The
ageing process continues in the bottle, where the wine acquires the further refining needed before it can be sold. The
nose and flavor of this Reserva will improve in bottle during the following years.
Deep intense black colour which stains the sides of the glass. The brightness and its pleasant colour as well as its powerful aroma of ripe dark fruits tell us about the high quality of the grapes used. An intense and defined nose which
is complex, attractive and full of character has touches of amaretto sponge-cake, egg-yolk cakes, vanilla, medicinal,
roasted, cedar, tobacco and black fruit liqueurs. On the palate it is attacking, with body and tasty acidity, excellent
structure, balance and a long finish with a floral back-taste.

Vintage 2005
Characteristics A wine made with Tempranillo, with grapes from a very old single vineyard. Grapes were picked by hand into 12 kilo
plastic crates. Temperature-controlled fermentation took place with vigorous daily pumping-over, followed by a long
post-fermentation maceration, with skin-contact for maximum colour and aroma extraction. The wine was aged in
French oak barrels for 20 months with racking carried out by hand and using gravity. Finally the wine was bottled unfiltered to preserve its great character and to allow its structure to develop in the silence and darkness of our Bodega.
During this time no filtration has taken place so the wine in this natural state may precipitate some sediment in the
bottle.
Deep Indian ink in colour with a purple meniscus which stains the side of the glass with a thick coat of glycerine. Powerful nose laden with black fruit, ripe plums, floral notes, caramelized toffee, liquorice, spices, dairy and medicinal tones.
In the mouth, elegant intensity and smoothness, fruit touches in the aftertaste accompany a slight acidity. Intense, fullbodied, sweet but with rounded tannins, powerful and with a long finish.

Bodega Ribera Duero de Peñafiel

rượu vang đỏ chất lượng cao nổi tiếng nhất của Tây Ban Nha.
Trên thực tế cái tên “Ribera del Duero” trước đây thuộc sở hữu của nhà rượu Protos và được chuyển quyền sử dụng
cho toàn vùng từ 1982.
Nhà rượu Protos cũng là chủ sở hữu lớn nhất của các cánh đồng nho vùng Castilla y Leon, hiện Bodegas Protos sở
hữu 1137ha và kiểm soát 600ha, 35% diện tích đó có tuổi đời trên 80 năm.

Bodegas Protos, founded in 1927, is the oldest and biggest winery in La Ribera del Duero, the most famous producing
area of top red wines in Spain. In fact the name “Ribera del Duero” is property of Bodegas Protos that transfer the right
to use it to the whole Area in 1982. Bodegas Protos is the biggest vineyard’s proprietor in the Castilla y Leon with 1137
ha + 600 ha controlled, the 35% of those vineyards are older than 80 years. With the old winery with more than 2,5 km
of underground cellars under the famous castle of Peñafiel and the new winery designed by Sir Richard Rogers, one of
the top 5 architects in the world, Protos is receiving more than 36.000 visitors a year, 1/3 of the total visitors to the entire
Ribera del Duero Apellation.
