H i y’all, The month started out with the Imperial Convention in Houston, Texas attended by representatives from most all of the Temples. Jerry Gantt was elected Imperial Potentate for 2015 - 2016. Dale Stauss, P.I.P. was voted in as the new President of the Colorado Corporation (hospitals). An amendment to raise the per capita from $15.00 to $30.00 was voted on and passed by the representatives at this meeting. Our own P.I.P. Nick Thomas, to his surprise, received the Imperial Potentate’s Award of Merit for his dedication and service to the Shrine. Also P.P. Glen Christensen received his Emeritus status for the Colorado Corporation (Hospitals). Congratulations to both of them. Saturday, July 18th was our quarterly stated meeting with a large number of 50 year members receiving their certificate and pin. The day started out with a great breakfast; we had over a 120 people attend. I would like to thank Bruce Ponoroff who orchestrated the meal and I appreciate all you did to make it a success. Some of the Temple events coming up are Cigars under the Stars on August 1st and the Ventura parade on August 8th. The week of August 10th, we will begin engraving the pavers on the “Shriners Trail of Fame”, then on August 20th we plan on having a ribbon cutting and unveiling of the engraved pavers. I encourage all of you to come out and be a part of the momentous event. We have Mason’s night on September 9th which will be held at the Shrine Auditorium. Our second annual golf tournament benefiting our Shriner’s Hospital will be on September 18 at Griffith Park. On September 26th we will have a ceremonial at the Temple and I encourage all of you to recruit a new member from your Blue Lodge for this ceremony. Mark your calendars to attend our Shrine Family Picnic on Sunday October 4th. For more information on these events, check the Al Malaikahan. Please participate in as many of these events as you can. The Shrine is only as strong as its participating members. Remember, we put these events on for you, the Nobles, and your family and friends. Well, that’s it for this month. Now where did I put that mucking fork? May the Great Architect be with you and your loved ones. Fraternally Lynn Georgeson, Potentate Thank You to Last Month’s Transportation Fund Donors Robert W.
