Proware™ Ceramic Mass Transfer Media - Saint
Saint-Gobain NorPro PROWARE™ Ceramic Mass Transfer Media Ceramic Random Packing for Acidic, Chemical, Petrochemical and Refining Applications Saint-Gobain NorPro’s Proware™ silica-alumina ceramic formulation is used in the manufacture of high strength, low porosity, chemically resistant saddles, Raschig rings, grid blocks and cross partition rings. Proware™ ceramic is virtually iron-free and its finely grained microstructure makes it more chemically resistant than typical stoneware products. Proware™ chemical ceramic is the standard material for all Saint-Gobain NorPro mass transfer packings; it resists all alkalis, solvents and acids, except hydrofluoric acid. Norton™ Saddles Norton™ Saddles are the mass transfer industry’s packing of choice for reliable, corrosion-resistant performance. Saint-Gobain NorPro developed and patented the original Intalox® ceramic saddle over 60 years ago and continues to manufacture Norton™ saddles to the original Intalox® specifications in a range of sizes, as generally indicated by the product width. Saddle Sizes Inches mm 1/4 6 3/8 10 1/2 13 3/4 19 1 25 1-1/2 38 2 50 3 75 Proware™ Ceramics Norton™ Saddles Norton™ Super Saddles Raschig Rings Norton™ Super Saddles Norton™ Super Saddles have a unique scalloped edge and strategically placed holes that are designed for maximum gas/liquid contact area with minimal resistance to flow. The Norton™ Super Saddle provides 5-30% greater mass transfer efficiency and 25% lower pressure drop than the corresponding size standard saddle. Norton™ Super Saddles are manufactured in two sizes, #1 (25mm) and #2 (50mm), as generally indicated by their widths. Minor variations in product size are common to the manufacturing process and are constrained by product tolerances. WavePak™ Packing Cross Partition Rings PROWARE™ Ceramic Mass Transfer Media Raschig Rings Proware™ Raschig Rings are manufactured in a range of sizes, as generally indicated by the outside ring diameter. WavePak™ Packing WavePak™ packing was developed by Saint-Gobain NorPro and is marketed exclusively by MECS Inc. for sulfuric acid applications. The patented WavePak™ shape represents a significant improvement in capacity and pressure drop over 75mm saddles. Cross partition rings are manufactured in 3-inch (75mm), 4-inch (100mm) and 6-inch (150mm) diameters.
