The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the whole Israelite
community and tell them: Be holy, for I, the Lord, your God,
am holy.”
Leviticus 19:1-2
Sometimes the image of a holy person is that of a priest,
deacon, or member of a religious community such as a
monk or nun. However, holiness is to be found in all of us in
how we live. Stewardship teaches us that being “holy” is a
lifestyle that calls us to be just, honest, fair, and loving of
God and our neighbor. We accomplish this in our everyday
actions.
Today’s Readings: Leviticus 19:1-2, 17-18 (79A), Corinthians
3:16-23, Matthew 5:38-48.
The bright sun, the blue sky, the gray concrete
and the black pavement give us more
hope than any groundhog ever
thought of doing. Emily Dickinson
wrote that “Hope” is the thing with
feathers - That perches in the soul - And
sings the tune without the words -And
never stops - at all. The Holy Spirit, often
pictured as a dove, gives us hope that
will not be disappointed. A hope beyond bad weather, a
hope above failure, a hope in life eternal. There are three
things that last: faith, hope, and love.
~ Fr. Tony
The Community of St. James extends its deepest sympathy
to Fr. Donald Goetz upon the death of his cousin, Dottie
Aulbach and to Colette Dumstorf, whose sister, Mary
Margaret Hughes Snyder, passed away. Please keep these
families and their loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
Please welcome into our Parish
Community the following new
members: Nicholas & Laura Olinger,
Sonny Shanks, Jessica & Robert Neal
and their children, Isla & Lucas.

influencing others. It is the only thing." (Albert Schweitzer)
Is there a trait that you would like to foster in your spouse
or child? How can you model that behavior this week in
your own life?
Parenting Pointers: Saying you don't have time to play
with your child or to eat dinner with them, is like saying
you don't have time to stop for gas because you're too
busy driving. Make some time today for your child, before
they are grown up and out the door.

send in your donations or return your
unbought raffle tickets so we may re-sell
