even more activities!
Summit Teen Camp
(1 or 2 weeks) Ages 13–16
Teens love CSB for our high ropes course,
socializing around the campfire, all camp
games, and canyon overnight! Parents love CSB
for reinforcing the values of caring, honesty,

that allows their teen to be themselves and
have a great time! Register for Traditional Camp
and campers will be placed based on age.

Leadership Development Program*
(2 weeks) Ages 13–15
Through our ropes course, climbing wall, and group
initiatives, (including a two-day campout) campers will
learn and develop specific skills that will help them
become stronger and more confident leaders. Teens
then get to utilize those skills throughout camp by
leading activities for younger age groups.
Counselor in Training*
(4 weeks) Ages 16–17
Participate in a full training program, run an evening
activity, lead a camp steward project, and have a
great time with friends! Teens will be placed in cabins
during their third and fourth weeks of camp to assist
as CIT’s. They will complete a full evaluation as well
as graduation from the program. This program is
excellent for teens wishing to work in a camp setting.
(Does not guarantee future employment.)
*Volunteer hours are available for portions of our
leadership programs. Hours are based on performance and
program schedule.
Note: The “Leadership Development” and “Counselor
in Training” programs require a degree of maturity
and the ability and desire to be accountable for
ones actions. Though all programs are supervised by
Camp Shady Brook staff, campers in these programs
are often placed in positions of responsibility for
others’ physical or emotional safety. If you feel
that your camper may have challenges in any of the
situations described above, these programs may
not be suitable for them. Camp Shady Brook Staff
reserve the right to re-assign campers to more
appropriate programs if available. If not available,
campers may be sent home.

Camp fee structure
We realize that families have different economic
situations. Camp Shady Brook offers a
voluntary three-tier fee program.
Choose the tier that is most suitable for your family:
Tier I
Traditionally assisted price and does not reflect the true operating costs of camp.
Tier II
Partially assisted for those who can afford to pay a little more but still cannot afford the true
operating costs of camp.
Tier III
The true operating cost of camp including facility maintenance, upkeep and staff.
This program is voluntary and in no way influences the experience children receive at camp. It simply
offers an opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the true cost of their child’s time
at camp.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience a week of camp regardless of their
families economic situation. Financial assistance is available to families who cannot afford Tier I fees.
Please contact us for more information.
Want to help send another kid to camp?
Every year the YMCA actively engages staff and volunteers to reach out to our community and invite
them to make a donation to the Camp Shady Brook Community Support Campaign. Every dollar donated
goes directly to provide financial assistance to the families who need it most. Your donation can help
another child and their family enjoy a values-based experience that will last a lifetime.
YMCA 2013 Summer Day Camp!
Every week has a special theme where kids will experience fields
trips, swimming, science, outdoor adventures, arts & crafts, sports,
service learning and much more! YMCA Day Camp is offered at each
of the 5 YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region locations where your kids
are guaranteed to have a fun-filled summer making new friends. All
locations are licensed through the State of Colorado and all staff are
CPR certified. Register NOW at www.ppymca.org or call 719.329.7280
