Guidance Word of the Month The word of the month for December is Caring. Caring is being kind, compassionate, and showing that you care. Helping people in need as well as forgiving others is showing that you care. When you are caring you are helpful, kind and concerned towards others. Principal’s Message... "Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.." -Gail Devers Fear of failure or disappointment can be the greatest crippler to achieving any goal. Any attempt that is made is better than no effort at all. Our students need to be courageous and take risks without apprehension of what may or may not happen in the outcome! -Sonya Nock-Lemons Twin Hills Title 1 Tutoring Program Twin Hills Elementary School is offering Title 1 tutoring for student during the 2012-2013 school year. The primary purpose of the tutoring program is to address student’s individual needs in the areas of language arts and/or math. Students in grades 2 thru 5 received a tutoring letter during the month of October that provided parents a summary of their son/daughter’s progress during the previous school year. The summary information was used to prioritize the needs of students in those core subject areas, while also offering all interested students an opportunity to participate. In an effort to keep the groups small in each sessions, students have been divided into tutoring cycles. Parents will be notified by a tutor prior to the start of their child’s cycle to inform them of the session dates and times Sessions are offered during the AM or PM session, depending upon the availability of the Start Date End Date tutors. Students Cycle # 1 November 18, 2013 January 17, 2014 will be re-assigned if requested ses2 January 18, 2014 March 14, 2014 sions are full. 3 March 10, 2014 May 9, 2014 Twin Hills 2013-2014 Student Council After a tough campaign, students in grades 3, 4, & 5 let their voices & votes be heard by electing the following students as student council officers and representatives.
