Demi Lovato Here We Go Again Demi Lovato had lofty goals for Here We Go Again: “I wanted not only to make a great album, but I also want my music to inspire people, to help them get through whatever they’re going through in their lives. That’s the ultimate goal with every piece of music I make.” On Here We Go Again, with ultra-personal songs like the irresistible, buoyant title track, the hard-rockin’, sultry ‘Got Dynamite’ and confessional pop perfection of ‘Solo’, Demi met - and exceeded - her goals. The multi-talented 16year-old became a household name thanks to TV smashes - her starring roles in the Disney Channel sitcom Sonny With a Chance and movie Camp Rock - but, Demi says emphatically, “music is my first love.” Demi, who has written nearly 300 songs in her young life, was beyond thrilled to co-write with the Grammy winner on her second album. The pair worked up two songs in the studio, collaborating on words and music, with the winning, thoughtful We have three copies of the new Demi Lovato album to give away! Likewise, she was excited to write ‘Every Time I Lie’ and ‘Falling Over Me’ with singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin, admitting to being “totally star struck, but trying to act cool.” MOVIE PREVIEWS American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders...like Chuck! Under the Mountain 10 December 2009 Teenage twins Rachel and Theo investigate the spooky house next door, only to discover the Wilberforces – shape-shifting creatures that lurk beneath Auckland’s ring of extinct volcanoes. With the help of the mysterious Mr Jones (Sam Neill) and their older cousin Ricky, the twins must rekindle the unique powers they once shared if they are to destroy this ancient evil. The Princess And The Frog 31 December 2009 It is, of course, a fairy tale. The setting is New Orleans in the Jazz Age of the 1920s. Tiana is a waitress at the very bottom of the social ladder, until her life is changed by a talking frog. The leggy character in question turns out to be Prince Naveen, labouring under a spell cast by the evil Dr. Facilier. Together they begin a quest to get the spell reversed… Fantastic Mr. Fox 7 January 2010 The classic Roald Dahl novel animates into life with George Clooney’s honey and gravel tones bringing the wily hero who must evade the clutches of three dastardly farmers in order to provide food for his furry family - and loses his tail in the process. Alice in Wonderland - 4 March 2010 A combination of live-action and 3D computer animation will be used to tell the story of a young girl, Alice, who falls down a rabbit hole into a magical world full of strange characters. WE’LL SEE YOU THERE! how to Make Stuff Booooo Yahhhhhh Who wants to have a go at creating the longest, slippiest, slidiest slidy thing you have ever thrown yourself down? I see some hands up so here we go, hold tight, it’s gonna be wet and wild! First - you need something to slide on. There are a few things you can use. Try 4 or 5 black bin bags all taped end on end to make a big black rectangle. Another option is to get some old vinyl/lyno (have a look in your dads garage or down at the tip). Last choice is at the garden centre - they sometimes sell plastic sheets off a big roll so you can get it as long as you like. Second - get some soap. Hand soap, dish washing soap, hair shampoo whatever. It just needs to be slippy. The best bet is some really cheap own brand dish washing liquid in a squeezy bottle. Third - stretch the plastic/vinyl/lyno out on the ground nice and flat. Grass is best. If you have some old tent pegs then use these to pin down the corners (be sure to push them right into the ground). Fourth - squirt your soap over the plastic/ vinyl/lyno then add some water (from a hose pipe or bucket). The more water the better so don’t be shy with the H2O Fifth - make like Evil Knievel and take a massive run up to your slide. When you get there throw yourself at it head or feet first and get ready to slide at lightning speed down your supper slippery creation. Warning - these things slide sooo fast that you are likely to fly off the other end at about the same speed as a speeding bullet. Make sure there is something nice and soft for you to land on! The largest jigsaw puzzle measured 4,783m2 and consisted of 43,924 pieces. It was assembled in July 1992, in Marseille, France. Skaterboarder Danny Wainwright (UK) popped the highest ollie ever at 1.13 meters in February 2000 at Longbeach, California. The most basketballs dribbled simultaneously is five, by Joseph Odhiambo (USA). He dribbled two on each hand and one between his feet. Sgt Paul Dean (UK) of the Royal Marines did 116 push-ups in one minute at a training base in Devon in July 2000. Bring this advert along for FREE child entry to the exciting hands-on science and music exhibition : The most cartwheels in 60 seconds is 48 by Brianna Schroeder (USA) in November 1997. Rajkumar Chakraborty (India) stayed in a sitting position against a wall for 11hr 5min in April 1994. Advert Ghost Ship If you are out on a boat this summer, keep an eye peeled for The Flying Dutchman. It sank in the 1600s but its ghost is said to haunt the oceans. In 1881, the crew of HMS Inconstant thought they saw the ship. In 1939, more than 100 people claimed to have seen The Flying Dutchman as they sunbathed on a beach near Cape Town, South Africa. During World War 2, a German U-boat submarine crew reported seeing the phantom ship. In 1911, the crew of the steamer Orkney Belle encountered The Flying Dutchman. It was totally deserted. Three bells were heard and the ghost ship vanished into the fog. e p i c e R e d na o m e L t c lemon juice water (to dilute) e p f u c r 1 PIngeredients cold cup) 3 to 4 cups uce to 3/4 (can red ) completely. d e lv 1 cup sugarr (for the simple syrup o s is d is til the sugaer from 4 to 6 lemons, n 1 cup wate u n a p e c u a t the juic a small s Method e sugar and water in , use a juicer to extrac f 1.
