All things seem possible in May.” This quote reminds me of our mission tonight. We gather together to celebrate the children, their families and the staff of St. Stephen’s School. Tonight we once again offer you the unique opportunity to help support our vision for the community of Harrisburg and beyond to provide a quality, faith based educational experience. Spring offers a new start, a new life and a rejuvenation of seeds planted before. Such a seed was planted in 1978 by Patricia Cameron and this life has been reaffirmed by your generous support during this annual auction. God bless you for attending this evening and your continued support! Ruth Graffius, Head of School This year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the auction and the 35th anniversary of St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. I feel the great cloud of witnesses that have supported us throughout those years and I want to thank you and the multitude of present supporters. Our wonderful School has both a grand legacy as well as a remarkable future because of the support of people like you. This auction is a great example of how the many hands that have brought such a splendid event will help our school remain a vibrant and creative center of learning for our children and the community. May God bless us all and St. Stephen’s School. Faithfully, Churchill Pinder, Dean of the Cathedral Thanks for being with us tonight and for supporting St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. This is our 21st Auction and it remains one of our most important fundraising venues. In the Episcopal Church we talk about our three-legged stool of Scripture, Tradition and Reason. For St. Stephen’s School our threelegged stool consists of our students, our dedicated faculty and staff, and our friends like you. We could not continue with the good work we have been doing since 1978 without all three. The funds raised at tonight’s auction – and at the 20 that proceeded it – help us continue to deliver on our mission: to nurture the student in an atmosphere of respect for the individual student, to provide superior academic training which is affordable and available to all, and as part of the outreach and mission of the Cathedral Church of St. Stephen, to offer the teachings of the Christian faith in an Episcopal setting for the consideration of all. And a shout out to our founder Pat Cameron, who continues to inspire us. She celebrates a special milestone next month – please take a moment tonight to wish her a happy nonaginta birthday. Thanks again for being with us and enjoy your evening, and remember to bid early and bid often.
