An exceptional visit
Teachings and empowerment
While in Montchardon, Gyalwa Karmapa will give
precious teachings on the Bodhisattvacaryavatara, the
"Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life" by
Shantideva. This fundamental text relates every stage of
the path to Enlightenment within the context of the six
transcendent virtues, combining the development of
love and compassion with the profound knowledge of
emptiness.
The ten chapters of this text will be taught by Gyalwa
Karmapa during his 2012 European tour. All of these
teachings will then be assembled together and
published.
On Saturday August 4th Gyalwa Karmapa will bestow
the 1000 Buddhas Empower ment; Buddha
Shakyamuni is considered to be the fourth of the 1000
Buddhas of this fortunate era.
His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, a fully
enlightened being, is holder of the Karma Kagyu
lineage to which Karma Migyur Ling belongs.
According to Buddha Shakyamuni:
“In the land of the North will appear the one who makes
goodness increase, who is the supreme spiritual friend,
who is endowed with the greatest power of Enlightement
(...) He who will be heard.”
We have the great pleasure to announce the
exceptional visit of H.H. Trinley Thaye Dorje in
Montchardon. During his European tour this summer,
Gyalwa Karmapa will visit Montchardon for six days.
Programme
Monday 30th
of July Gyalwa Karmapa’s arrival in the afternoon. Welcome ceremony
and traditional offerings.

Reservations
Children
It is essential to book ahead in order to attend the teachings and the
empowerment. Only written reservations (post or web) will be taken
into consideration; please book rapidly as there is a limited number of
seats available in the teaching tent.
Please send your reservation form back or fill up the special booking
form on our website at the latest on the 14th of July with your
payment (cash card numbers or cash money order). Your access card
will be waiting for you at the front desk at your arrival.

Session fees : 22€ per teaching day
Teenagers 14-16 : 11€ per teaching day
Session fees remain unchanged if you attend only half a day’s teaching.
We are unable to organize child care, so parents need to
organize child-minding on their own. You may bring your
children to the events if they are capable of sitting quietly
throughout and you are willing to supervise them at all times.
Accommodation
No accommodation at all will be possible at Karma Migyur Ling, not
even camping, since we need the rooms for the invited lamas, the
people accompanying them and our staff. You will find a list of hotels,
guesthouses and camping sites in the area at the end of this leaflet.
Meals
Lunch only (vegetarian) will be available on the premises, advance booking
required: the latest date to book is the 14th of July. Price 9€

Transportation
Since there will be no accommodation at Karma Migyur
Ling, there will be no shuttle service between the 30th of July
and 6th of August. We invite everybody to share their cars as
much as possible. People staying in nearby accommodation,
but who have no car, can get a taxi to Izeron and then join
people who are driving up. It is recommended to be in Izeron
at 9.00 and 14.00. To get back, they will be able to make
arrangements once they are at Karma Migyur Ling.
