King Faisal Specialist Hospital
and Research Centre (KFSHRC)
is a tertiary hospital located in
Riyadh with a facility in Jeddah,
Saudi Arabia.
KFSHRC-Riyadh was opened by
the late King Khalid in 1975.
It has over 11,000 employees
of more than 63 nationalities
and counting with its new
expansion programs.

• High Dose Therapy and PBSCT Rescue for Multiple
Myeloma
2000
Implementation of:
• Non-Myeloablative Regimen (done in the Outpatient
setting)

• Unrelated SCT Program (MUD & Umbilical Cord)
• NMDP Training and Certification
2004
First MUD in Saudi Arabia from donor from USA
2005
Implementation of:
• Extracorporeal Phototherapy Treatment patients for GVHD
patients
• Infertility Clinic for Post-transplant patients
• Haploidentical Transplantation was initiated for the
Pediatric program

for SCT
• JACIE Inspection and Report (Nov 2008)
