Pighin played a leading
role in the Friuli wine
renaissance, which began
in the early 1960s.
Widely considered the
top region for white wine
production, Friuli is often
called the “Côte d’Or” of
Italy.
The Empsons were among
the first producers to make
a single varietal Chardonnay
in Italy and were the first to
export an Italian Chardonnay
to the U.S.
“Bollini’s style is one of clean,
pure wines.”
– Wine Spectator
Caposaldo earned a third
consecutive “HOT PROSPECT”
Award in 2014 from Impact
Magazine.
The name Caposaldo means
“benchmark” in Italian.
Caposaldo wines are the
benchmark for quality in Italian
winemaking.
Unlike other Spanish DOs,
Cava DO is not restricted to a
single geographic area, though
its most acclaimed bottles
come from Penedès, with a
winemaking tradition dating
back to the 6th Century BC. The
town of San Sadurní in Penedès,
where sparkling wine was
first produced in 1872, is the
birthplace of Cava.
Although other grape
varieties are permitted, Rías
Baixas is planted almost
exclusively to Albariño,
whose thick skin makes it
ideal for the damp climate of
Rías Baixas.
Alta Vista’s Terroir
Management ® system adapts
viticulture to the characteristics
of each terroir. Aerial infrared
photos are used to make custom
maps of each vineyard. Using
this detailed information, the
wine growing methods and
harvest dates are adapted to
each separate plot.
