In 1999, the Folonari family began to acquire property in Castagneto Carducci, Bolgheri. They assembled approximately 100 acres of land of which 60 are planted in vines, with further plantings underway. An ultramodern winery designed by the Parisian architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte was completed in 2002.
