FKSS Soccer Academy - Frances Kelsey Secondary School
Frances Kelsey Soccer Program Take your soccer to the next level and develop skills in this life long sport. -‐Available for students in grades 8-‐12 male and female, wishing to improve their individual soccer skills. This course is an excellent choice for those students who already have an interest in soccer and play on a community or school team and want to enhance their individual soccer skills. -‐The soccer component will be once per week and will focus on individual skills, defending and goal scoring. The rest of the week students will participate in a variety of non-‐soccer athletic activities. -‐During the soccer component guest coaches (see coaches background below), will be involved, which will not only bring an additional level of expertise to the class, but will lower the overall student/instructor ratio to 10:1 or at most 15:1. With two to three instructors involved, it will also allow for appropriate ability grouping. -‐Students will be given Physical Education credit for this program. Here’s what some of the participants say: "The FKSS soccer academy is a fantastic learning environment designed for players who want to take their game to the
next level. The high quality coaches offer great training for players from club level to high performance, or anything in
between!" Anna Slang; Provincial player. “Soccer academy is a program that will deepen and improve your understanding of soccer. You will excel in soccer if you
soak up all of the advice and drills from the coaches.” Celia Burdet; CVSA u/14 silver
