Y E S – Youth Embracing Sport
A Sliema Wanderers Football Nursery ‘Youth In Action’
project in partnership with Home Farm Football Academy
Dublin – Ireland
The Sliema Wanderers Football Nursery’s Youth In Action project is based on the
philosophy that Sport is a lot more than just physical activity. While sport can help
young people develop healthy lifestyles it can also teach valuable life skills and help
with an individual's personal development process.
The sport and outdoor activities combined with other cultural, social and educational
experiences planned for the exchange visit ensure that the objectives of the Youth In
Action programme are fully met.

•The general idea of this Youth In Action project, what topics to cover and the planning
for the Youth Exchange visit to Ireland were done by the participants coordinated by a
group leader.
•The group from Malta will be joined in Dublin by youths from the host partners and
together they will be actively involved in the events planned.
•To ensure the team building aspect the planned activities are mostly of an outdoor
nature and highly interactive also ensuring an enjoyable experience.
•Visits to places of interest and beauty will enhance the appreciation of the Maltese
participants towards the culture , traditions and customs of our hosts.
•To promote our culture, history and lifestyle a Maltese evening will be organised during
the stay in Dublin. The Maltese participants will deliver a presentation and prepare some
Maltese style finger food.
•Since both partners in this Youth In Action exchange visit are Football organisations,
some football matches will be organised with participants joining each others team.
•The group will be visiting the Irish Parliament and a meeting with prominent Members
of Parliament has been arranged by the hosts.
