Sophie started making a name for herself in
Hollywood, taking on supporting roles in film and on TV,
including appearances in music videos. Date Movie was
her first debut feature role on the silver screen, quickly
followed by Click with Adam Sandler, where she played
David Hasselhoff’s flirtatious secretary. Click debuted
number one on both the US and Australian box office
charts. She said that working on that film with Adam
Sandler was one of the highlights of her career.
You also may have seen her American television
debut in a 2007 episode of the Golden Globe AwardWinning HBO series Entourage, where she has a
steamy sex scene with Vincent Chase (played by Adrian
Grenier). With the exception of her role in the horror flick
The Hills Run Red, Sophie’s become mostly known for
her sex appeal and blonde comedic type performances. I
asked her if she was content as a sex symbol or if she’d
like to conquer more dramatic roles. She responded, “I’d
love to branch out, but comedy and sexy stuff is what
fits me best. I don’t look like the victim girl next door,
although, in life, I am so unsexy, and unlucky when it
comes to love.” Her favorite role she’s played, so far in
her acting career, was Hard Breakers (out now) she says,
“Because it’s like me.”
A philanthropist and supporter of many charities,
Sophie personally dedicated herself to giving back to our
country. She knew she could do more than just donate
money. She spent time visiting our US troops, touring
with Steve Irwin and Bon Jovi. They traveled to several
danger-zones in Iraq, entertained our soldiers, boosted
morale, took pictures and signed autographs. One can
only imagine what that’s like. She said, “It was the most
amazing experience of my life. We don’t realize how
much they are going through.”
In 2007, Sophie posed nude for the animal rights
organization PETA, promoting vegetarianism. She
told me that she became a vegetarian when she was 17
because, “I decided I didn’t like eating flesh.” She says
her favorite foods are seafood and ice cream, but not
together of course. Ironically enough she turned down
a $1 million offer from Playboy, obviously not because
she’s against posing nude, but it was partially because
she felt the timing wasn’t right. She did tell me that
it may still be a possibility for her down the road. To
date, Sophie’s favorite modeling job was working for
Pepsi. “They were such kind, fun people.” Her favorite
endorsement was a bio-fit bra campaign.
at first sight, she’s recently announced in January she’s
become engaged to her boyfriend businessman Jimmy
Esebag, (20+ years her senior). His company ‘United
Licensing Group,’ owns the rights to the Playboy brand,
and also works with Elite Modeling Agency. She said
she’s dated a lot of people in the industry, and testifies
that they tend to have their heads in the clouds. Her and
her fiancé originally met over a work deal that she passed
on, and they ended up staying friends for a while, which
only later budded into romance.
In the past, she’s had some breakups with
celebrities that have subjected her to the scrutiny of the
public, (romantically linked to names like Benji Madden
and Ryan Seacrest). Having to explain her personal life
to the world isn’t one of the greatest perks to working in
entertainment, although she’s aware that it comes with
the territory. “Your private life is not private. It’s worse
for whoever is in my life. I’m tough as nails now, been
through it all. When it affects my family and loved ones,
then it breaks my heart.”
One of her latest endeavors has been filling in
for Jackie O (while she’s on maternity leave); for the
number one Australian morning radio program the Kyle
and Jackie O show, on 104.1 2DayFM. “I totally love
radio. You forget that millions of people are listening.
So I tend to say some silly stuff. I have foot-in-mymouth disease.”
When I asked her if she is currently working on
any music projects or has any future music plans, she
said, “I’m currently meeting about it. I was burnt out,
but now I miss it. I was touring for 4 years straight.”
She’s always working on many projects, including
joining our team here as Marketing Director and partner
at Runway Magazine Inc.
Constantly on the move, she says, “It never stops,
which I’m grateful for… pilots, shows, and modeling for
endorsements, I live in a suitcase.” Like any normal
woman, she hopes to settle down in the near future. “I
just want to laugh every day and be happy.” Stay on the
look-out for Sophie. In person, she’s a true sweetheart,
down-to-earth and low-key. She prefers lounging in
sweats all day rather than being made up. This sexy
Aussie beauty is about to take her American film and
television career to the next level.

You can be on any cover of any magazine, What made you pick RUNWAY?
The people really get fashion and are open to the celebrities’ image they want to portray, it’s a positive magazine, with a hot name.
Now that you are a partner of RUNWAY, with Title “Marketing Director” What is your Vision of the magazine?
Also, what will you bring to the table.
After meeting the team, they aren’t trying to prove anything and such down to earth people, and really want to make this
magazine work, I have so many friends in the industry that trust me and will contribute, and will be apart of this. It’s a very
generous mag that gives respect, and doesn’t trick or argue with people, they want to make everyone happy, James Buccelli, the
owner, is so honest, very rare in this game, celebrities can trust him.
Where do you see Runway in five years under your direction?
Very high end, the team I have around me work with people beyond my level and they are going to be a part of this, I have
been offered to be part of other mags but haven’t been interested, this magazine is going to take off, and I want to be a part of
passionate people that all have their eye on the prize. And want to show celebrities and fashion in the way they want to see their
creativity. No one else does that. People will put their guard down and give more with the attitude Runway Magazine Inc gives. I’m
genuinely excited about the potential of this mag.
