Camp Penn - Susquehanna Conference Camps
Susquehanna Conference, The United Methodist Church register online at www.susumcamps.org 2015 SUMMER CAMPS AND RETREATS CAMP PENN A note from the Director of Camp & Retreat Ministry Dear Camp Friends: I am delighted to share with you the exciting programs that the Camp & Retreat Ministry staff have created for you, your children, and your family for 2015. This brochure shares with you all the events that will be happening January through December. It is my hope and prayer you will stay connected or reconnect to the Camp & Retreat program this year, as some wonderful things have been planned. The Camp & Retreat Ministry program of The Susquehanna Conference provides a safe environment for children, youth, and adults to experience Christian community. Whether you receive Christ through a camp or retreat experience or whether you come for growth, renewal, or reconnection, the Holy Spirit is waiting for you. Camp is helping children and youth to prepare for adulthood. They learn to work as a team within their family groups. They learn resilience. Daily they are making decisions as to how they will spend their time — from what they will eat, to the activities in which they will participate. They learn to try new things in a safe environment. These are all ways that are helping children and youth grow in their faith. We look forward to serving you at one of our Camp & Retreat sites in 2015. Camp Penn is located in the southern part of Pennsylvania near Waynesboro. Across from Old Forge State Park, it is on the southern edge of Michaux State Forest. Camp Penn offers dormitory style housing with single beds and adjoining bathroom facilities. The Craft Shop, Canteen, and Pool are popular features at Camp Penn. Dedicated deans and counselors provide a strong spiritual journey for all that are ready to hear God’s Word. Sharing, growing and relaxing in this mountain setting opens one up to hear what our programs have to offer without the electronic noises of today. What we do best is to offer these seeds of faith in an atmosphere of fun and laughter in a safe and secure place. Please come and join us at Camp Penn this summer and start creating memories and building friendships that will last a lifetime. INTERESTED IN BEING A CAMP LEADER?
