werden am Messesamstag eine ganze Reihe von attraktiven Publikumsaktionen gestartet. So spielt beispielsweise um 13 Uhr

Today is the day of the stars at the Music
Fair. There will be lots of live perfor-
mances and lots of opportunities to grab
an autograph. Ibanez, Tama, Ortega and
Mesa have a variety of activities and events
planned for Public Saturday. At 1 o’clock
for example the PRS band with Davy
Knowles, Bernie Marsden and Brent Mason
will be appearing on the Agora Stage.
There will be autograph signings by Specki
T.D, Basti Lange and Kay Lutter from In
Extremo, and Simon Michael from Subway
to Sally, to name but a few. You can get all
the information on today's events directly

das große SchoolJam-Finale auf der Musikmesse Frankfurt am heutigen Samstag
ab 15 Uhr in der Frankfurter Festhalle fest.
Die acht SchoolJam-Finalisten werden
nicht allein auf der Bühne stehen: Während der Beratungsphase der u.a. mit

of 2012? After more than 1000 entries, 15
gigs featuring 120 Bands, and 30 bands
involved in SchoolJam online voting,
the eight best school bands in Germany
are now ready to appear in the spectacular SchoolJam finals at the Music Fair in
Frankfurt today starting at 3 pm in the
Festhalle. The eight finalists will not be
the only ones appearing on stage though.
While the jury, which includes Revolverheld manager Sascha Stadler, producer

Scorpio, Ulli Pallemanns from Studios
301 and Guano Apes drummer Denis Poschwatta, comes to its decision, the audience will be treated to a performance by
Stereolove – the former members of German super-band Reamonn with their new

Neue Trommelserie
n Sound Lab Project, kurz S.L.P., heißt
TamaS neue Serie von Snare Drums, die
preislich besonders attraktiv positioniert
ist. Black Brass, Classic Maple, G-Bubinga,
G-Maple, Power Maple, Sonic Steel, Super
Aluminium und Vintage Steel heißen die
Finishes der Snare Drums. Das ist selbsterklärend. Die Kesselhardware wurde jeweils an das Kesselmaterial angepasst.
Opus – Deutscher Bühnenpreis 2012
n Bühnenproduktionen umfassen heutzutage mehr als die traditionelle Bühne im
Theater. Die Vielfältigkeit der Bühnenproduktionen zeigt der Opus – Deutscher
Bühnenpreis seit 2002 mit der Auswahl
seiner Preisträger. So erhält Bertil Mark
den Opus in der Kategorie Lichtdesign für
die Tournee „Letzte leise Reise“ der Sportfreunde Stiller. Der Preis für das Lebenswerk wurde an Florian Wieder vergeben.
Er gestaltete Bühnen beispielsweise für
den MTV Video Music Awards, den MTV
Europe Music Awards, die DSDS-Shows
oder den Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
n Stage productions involve more than
just the use of a traditional theatre stage.
And, through the choice of award winners and their projects, Opus – German
Stage Award – reflects the wide variety of different stage productions. This
year’s award went to Bertil Mark in the
Lighting Design category. He was chosen
for his work on the ‘Letzte leise Reise’
tour of the ‘Sportfreunde Stiller’ indie
rock band. A lifetime achievement award
went to Florian Wieder for his work on
such projects as the MTV VMA, the MTV
EMA, the DSDS shows and the 2011 ESC.

n Mit der 2010 vorgestellten Performing
Artist Series hat maRTIn GuITaRS eine
moderne Gitarrenserie speziell für den
Bühneneinsatz im Programm. Der Erfolg
ermutigte die amerikanischen Gitarrenbauer diese Serie zu erweitern. Drei neue
Modelle werden auf der Messe vorgestellt: DCPa4 Rosewood (Dreadnought),

und omCPa4 Rosewood (Orchestra Model). Ein sehr spezielles Sigaturemodell
bekommt Jeff Tweedy, Frontman der

Instrument Awards have been presented

n A new addition to vhT’S range is the
VHT Special 12/20RT all-tube amp. It is
very similar to the 12/20 model but offers tube-buffered spring reverb and tube
tremolo. The output of the 12/20RT can
be adjusted between 20 W and less than
1 W. This is possible thanks not only to
a pentode/triode switch but more importantly to different tube configurations
(EL84s, 6V6s, EL34s or 6L6s). The pre-amp
features an FX loop designed especially

No corners have been cut here. The guitar
is fitted with EMG pickups and TonePros
hardware. His bass player Dan Kenny now
plays the LTD DK-5 from the LTDs F series.
It has a neck-thru-body design with an extra long 35" scale, mahogany body and
rosewood fingerboard. The five strings
are tuned with Grover machine heads,
and EMG pickups round off the specification.

Recording with iOS
n The iM2 from TascaM turns your Apple
iPhone 4, iPad or iPod Touch into a powerful stereo recorder. It consists of a pair

Apple device. The mics are omnidirectional and can be angled backwards and
forwards by 180-degrees to ensure they‘re

Stabilization feature (DOGS) for example
prevents a classic problem when two consoles (FOH and monitor) share the same
source such as a mic on stage. If the FOH

sound module offers 500 instruments
and 100 user-definable drum kits and a
new ambience feature. Up to now this
engine was reserved for the V-Pro series.

V-Drums V-Edit interface. To go with the
TD-15 sound generator in the TD-15KV kit
are two new V-Pads with mesh heads as

n Newcomers to the ever expanding family of ESP players are bassist Frank
Bello and guitarist Rob Caggiano from the
heavy metal band Anthrax. Caggiano’s new
instrument is based on his slightly modified
ESP Horizon. The Rob Caggiano ESP has an
ash body with a bolt-on maple neck, two
DiMarzio humbuckers and TonePros hardware. Like the rC-600 version from LTD it
is finished in STP (See Thru Purple). Frank
Bello’s bass is based on the ESP Vintage-4.

n Das DM Dock von Alesis verwandelt ein
Apple iPad in ein Drum-Modul für elektronische Schlagzeuge oder Triggersysteme.
Eine besondere Vorrichtung hält das iPad
im Gerät fest. Optional ist ein sogenanntes
Module-Mount-System erhältlich, mit dem
sich das Gerät beispielsweise am Drum
Rack befestigen lässt. Das robuste klappbare Gehäuse umschließt
das iPad dabei komplett und beugt somit
gleich auch eventuellen Transportschäden
vor.
Die Klinkenausgänge
sind symmetrisch beschaltet, es gibt MIDI

n Given CLAvIA’s background with the
“ddrum” brand, which was synonymous
with electronic drums at a time before
the Nord keyboards were introduced, the
company seems to be returning to its roots
with the Nord Drum. This virtual analogue
drum synthesizer combines conventional
electronic drums with new waveforms.
Particular emphasis was laid on creating
results that both sound and respond stunningly organic. Super-fast triggering adds
to the feeling of playing a real instrument.
Four trigger inputs and a mono output
make the instrument idea not as an allround drum machine but as a sample-free

n Mit der RG feiert bei IBANez ein Stück
Rockgeschichte seinen 25sten Geburtstag. In den 80er Jahren entwickelt, hatte
die RG bald den Ruf als vielseitiges
Werkzeug für den Rockgitarristen. Sie war die Grundlage vieler Signature-Modelle wie der
JEM, den 7-saitigen Modellen
von Korn Gitarrist Munky oder
der AT100 von Andy Timmons.
Mit der Rg1XXv stellt Ibanez
nun eine limitierte Auflage
mit dem Charme der 80er
Jahre vor. Ausgestattet
mit modernen Features, wie den DiMarzio Pickups und dem
Edge Zero 2 Tremolo mit Zero Point 3
Federsystem ist
sie auf dem neuesten Stand.
25 years of rock history
n IbANez is celebrating a piece of rock
history by announcing a 25th anniversary edition of the RG. Developed in the
80s, it soon gained a reputation as the
ultimate versatile tool for the rock guitarist. The RG formed the basis for a large
number of signature models such as the
JEM, the 7-string models of Korn guitarist
Munky and the AT100 of Andy Timmons.
The Rg1XXv from Ibanez is a limited edition guitar with looks that hark back to the
1980s. Its spec however is ultra modern,
with DiMarzio pickups and Edge Zero 2
tremolo with the Zero Point 3 system.

because all the components are precisionmachined. Every step is explained in detail. Unlike other cajon kits the Sela Snare
Cajon has proper snare wires that can be
individually adjusted and damped. For
different sounds there are “clap corners”
that can also be adjusted. If you have never played a cajon before, not to worry as
instructions and a CD are supplied with
the kit.

celebrate the life’s work of one of the most
important composers of piano music. The
Chopin special edition Piano contains
high-quality hammers and a soundboard
in grand piano quality, plus hand-crafted
bass strings from Bösendorfer, the world
famous Austrian piano builder. Solid
brass details and features such as walnut
key blocks (on the black polyester model)
round off this special model.

PRs solid body. The bridge
has been developed in cooperation with LR Baggs

n eLeCTRo-voICe presents four ultra-compact evU loudspeakers for fixed installation. The single-woofer model EVU-1062/95
is the smallest in the series. Small does
not mean quite, though. 160 W continuous
load and 92 dB at one watt and one metre
is plenty of sound. The EVU-2062/95 dualwoofer model is wider and has a higher
power handling capability and a higher SPL.
The EVU-1082/95 single-woofer model has a
3 dB higher SPL. On the EVU-2082/95 dualwoofer model the level can go up a further
3 dB and it can handle lower frequencies.

Wireless
n seNNheIseR’s new Xs Wireless microphone series is making its European
debut at prolight+sound 2012. The series
rounds off the wireless portfolio from this
audio specialists with five entry-level systems. All the sets feature robust design,
simple operation and excellent sound
quality. The 24 MHz switching window
provides flexibility in channel selection,
and the transmitter operating time of up
to 10 hours means there is no problem
even with long events. XS Wireless can
be operated via intuitive menus, the receivers automatically search for available frequencies, and the transmitters
are synchronised with the receivers via a
wireless connection.The two vocal sets in
the series are equipped with Sennheiser
microphone capsules, and there is an
instrument set for guitarists. The handheld transmitters in the vocal sets are
equipped with a condenser model with
a super-cardioid characteristic and a dynamic microphone with a genuine e 835
