‘Maharashtrian of the Year’ award
ceremony was held at National
Centre for Performing Art (NCPA)
with a galaxy of people from politics, society, industry, business, literature and arts attending the function in large numbers. Amir Khan,
Ranveer Singh performed dance,
Asha Bhosle reminisced about her
musical career spanning decades,
Nita Ambani radiated her philanthropic aura, and the resounding
claps that greeted the felicitations to
Dr Rajendra Badve.
A large number of people from
various fields like sports, movies,
science, technology, business, arts,
infrastructure, society, politics and
administration were present at the
function where the awards were distributed at the hands of the chief
minister Devendra Fadnavis. Amir
Khan was prominently present on
the occasion.

honoured with Maharashtra Youth
Icon of the year award while eminent singer Asha Bhosale was presented with Lifetime Achievement
award. She said that she had not
received any Maharashtra gaurav
award but Lokmat had given her the
greatest award, she said.

‘Malhari’. Even those present could
not control themselves and started
dancing. Chief Minister Devendra
Fadnavis got young MLAs like
Praniti Shinde, Pankaja Munde,
Vishwajeet Kadam and even Shaina
NC to answer questions about themselves.

politician, I was honoured with the
award by Lokmat and for it I am thankful to Lokmat, selection committee and people of Maharashtra. I will try to do more work

I want to share certain
things close to my heart
on this occasion. I had
been working in the
fields of
education,
sports and social work
for several years and
had been closely monitoring the developments
in these fields. Hence
wanted to share my
experience.
After working in the
field of education, I
realised that I was a dedicated teacher and that I
loved the field of teaching. Education is very
close to my heart.
Through the medium of

international school, I
worked in the field of
education.
Students
from various social
backgrounds study in
the school. Along with
education,
we
also
impart skills to the students. Now thousands of
the students are stepping out of the schools
to take on the world.
They are proving their
mettle in the outer
world. It was due to the
dedication and love for
education, that the
school became the topmost school in the country.
Sports is one more
field wherein I am
active. I am active in the
sports
like
cricket
through the Mumbai
Indians team which had
added the feathers to the
cap of Mumbai twice.
We are also associated
with the football and

development. The country has a large population of youngsters and I
observe them from close
quarters and I am working for them. Youth is
the future of the nation
and therefore our effort
is to empower them and
help them realise their
dreams. This work gives
me great deal of satisfaction.
I
always
remember the great
thoughts of Dhirubhai
about the youth. He
said, “ Give best services and facilities to the
youth and create a
favourable atmosphere
around them. Give them
encouragement
and
provide them all types
of cooperation. The
youth is the source of
energy and they have
the potential to realise
their dreams."

The occasion was Lokmat
Maharashtrian of the
Year award. The people

other times, came together, chatted and laughed

celebrities came in time to
attend the function where
they shed their inhibitions and allowed themselves to be photographed
with their fans and
friends alike. Most of the

Q: What is your concept of success?
A: I do not work with the aim of
achieving success. On the other hand,
I just take a plunge into any work with
full dedication. I have never selected a
work on the premise of success or failure. I believe that if you work with
dedication, you are most likely to get
success. Even if you fail, you can learn
something from that failed opportunity. Therefore, one must focus on work
to achieve success in life.
Q: Due to your different style of work,
you have got the identity of ‘Mr
Perfectionist’. What do you feel?
A: (Smiles) There is no one in the
world who can call himself perfect in
true sense of the term. I work patiently and when I select a work, I complete
it with full dedication. When I work I
am in a different universe. Therefore, I
work as if possessed and do not rest
till I complete the chosen work.
Q: Rumour mill about you having

Q: What is your view about the trend
of things getting viral in the social
media?
A: Anybody can say anything in the
social media. It is often painful. There
is no proof.
There is 'mob psychology' behind
what is shared in the social media.
Just as we can not recognise who
shouted in the crowd, similarly we
can not recognise who shared what in
social media. This fact is increasingly
becoming a cause for concern due to
the expansion of social media platform.

Mumbai: Chief Minister
Devendra Fadnavis found
himself in the line of fire
with celebrities asking him
many questions including
uncomfortable questions.
He evaded the direct reply
on the issue of separate
Vidarbha by stating that he
would appoint Shrihari
Aney to answer the question of separate Vidarbha.
However, he gave an important assurance to Nana
Patekar on providing housing to the policemen.
The Maharashtrian of the
Year award programme of
Lokmat held at NCPA con-
cluded with chief minister
Devendra Fadnavis answering a volley of questions
from the celebrities and the
audience and received maximum round of claps.
Renowned lawyer and
jurist Ujjwal Nikam got up
to ask the CM at which he
said, “ Please do not cross
examine me” which provoked a round of applause
in the hall. In reply, Nikam
said though I am your
lawyer, Lokmat has appointed me to cross examine you.
When those, who are close
to you make demand about
separate Vidarbha, what is
your feeling as the chief
minister and how do you
regain your mental peace?
In reply, Fadnavis said smilingly, “If I am allowed to
appoint a lawyer during the
cross examination, I would
like to appoint advocate
Shrihari Aney. Concerning
the mental peace, a politician must hear a thing
through one year and put it
out through another. There
is no other option.”
After this, former advocate general Shrihari Aney
stood up to ask the CM.
“While working as the advocate general, I found that

biggest litigant, how will
you solve this question
rather than wasting time in
fighting these cases?”
CM replied that if the incidence of the cases filed by
the state government is
reduced, the burden on the
court will reduce too. Step
will be taken to set up a
forum to dispose of the long
pending cases. The burden
on the court was reduced
through the Lok Adalat earlier. That kind of mechanism needs to be evolved to
get rid of the ever piling
cases. CM said that a definite policy on filing the
cases, appeal, etc. will be

judges to work 365 days to
clear the cases?” In reply,
CM said only Aney can tell
that to the court which

you reduce your weight and
who is your dietician?” CM
replied that he tried all the
tricks but continued to gain
weight. Later he contacted

Todkar
who
assured him of weight loss
through a diet plan in which
weight is controlled without
staying hungry.

Bhandarkar reminded the
CM of his modelling portfolio and asked him if he
would play a role in the

CM that the former president APJ Abdul Kalam had
dreamed of the nation
where there would be no
beggars at all. Is it possible
for the welfare of the nation
and the society, asked
Agarwal. In reply, CM said
that if the society desired,
there would not be a single
beggar around. Nothing
can be achieved depending
on the government, the
society should take the
lead, Fadnavis said.

since long. I have been
singing since for the last 72
years. People listen to my

and watch my show even
now. This gives a great satisfaction. I am happy that I got
the award at the hands of
the chief minister. What
more can I say? I am lucky.

healthy you must drink milk of desi cows. You need to keep
desi cows and if you are not able, you drink milk. No option
to desi cow milk to keep India strong and healthy.
