If you answered YES to any of these questions, you need a life insurance review. Each of these important life events are exciting and create new responsibilities. If it’s your first time getting life insurance or if you just need to update your policies, we can help. Just call us to schedule a complimentary review. PVFCU has been working in our local community and with other national credit union organizations to raise awareness about increasing the member business lending cap. Federal law currently limits the amount of small business loans credit unions can make. A number of credit unions, including ours, have hit this cap and are forced to turn away local small businesses in need of credit. The Credit Union Small Business Jobs Bill that would raise the cap (waiting on a vote in the Senate at the time of this publication) will not cost taxpayers a dime, but would help small businesses fuel job growth, creating nearly 5,000 new jobs in Virginia. You, our members, have helped in the cause by urging our VA Senators to support the bill, thru emailing them in addition to signing more than 625 postcards that were mailed to them. THANK YOU! We also created a short video, interviewing some of our members who own small businesses, which has been viewed more than 860 times (Click the YouTube link on our website home page to view the video)! Additionally, Ken Gonyer, Broadway Branch Manager, was awarded the 2011 Political Action Advocate of the Year by the Virginia Credit Union League and the Credit Unions Care Foundation of Virginia, in recognition of Outstanding Achievement, Leadership and Vision as a Champion of Political Action. His work included leading efforts on the member video that was created, as well as contributing numerous articles to national credit union publications and blogs. He accepted the award on behalf of PVFCU and numerous other employees who have spent significant time on raising awareness of the business lending cap issue. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page to stay informed on the latest details and outcome of the Senate vote on the Small Business Jobs Bill.
