DAEJEON, Center of South Korea
Hannam University is
located in the center of Daejeon,
in the center of Korea,
in the center of east Asia.
A world of difference
Daejeon Metropolitan City is geographically
located in the same latitude as Athens, Lisbon,
and San Francisco. Daejeon is the fifth largest
city among South Korea’s top six cities with a
population of 1.5 million. The city is located in
the center of South Korea and is a prominent
Linton Global College _Hannam University
junction for major railways and turnpikes
allowing people easy access to any part of
Korea. If you want to get away, Daejeon is less
than an hour by train from Seoul, the
cosmopolitan capital of South Korea, close
enough to go for the day or for an evening.
The city is also the home of the world-famous
Daedeok Valley, a science and technology
research complex, which is quickly becoming
recognized as a hotbed of creativity and
technological accomplishment for South Korea.
It offers rich resources for the student who
wishes to look into Korea’s economic and
technological development. Nearby, beautiful
mountains, rice-producing agricultural lands, and
more distant coastal fishing villages provide the
students with a variety of interesting impressions
of Korea.
As Korea has a brilliant history of over 5,000
years, Daejeon is also steeped in ancient history
and tradition. Daejeon enjoys an increasingly
important role in Korean affairs today and is
beating with the dynamic pulse of a harmonious
blend of the old and the new.
