CITY OF SANDUSKY RECREATION MILLS CREEK GOLF COURSE PAPER DISTRICT MARINA CITY OF SANDUSKY PUBLIC SERVICES @SanduskyCity The City of Sandusky is fortunate to be able to offer a variety of public parks and recreational facilities. Whether you choose to stroll through our floral gardens in downtown’s Washington Parks, play ball on one of our 17 ball diamonds, challenge the links at Mills Creek Golf Course, launch a boat to go fishing on Lake Erie, plan a picnic at one of our many shelters, or watch a picturesque sunset on the Bay, Sandusky has much to offer. Parks and recreational activities enhance the physical and mental well-being of individuals and the whole community. Leisure time is valuable for “recharging” oneself during these days of hectic lifestyles. It gives families quality time together to create happy memories. So take a moment to relax and enjoy what Sandusky and nature has to offer. The benefits are endless. Eric L. Wobser, City Manager SANDUSKY CITY COMMISSION Dennis E. Murray, Jr., President Richard R. Brady, Vice President Julie A. Farrar C. Wesley Poole Scott J. Schell Jeffrey S. Smith Naomi R. Twine Eric L. Wobser City Manager Dennis E. Murray, Jr., President City Commission Dennis E. Murray, Jr., President City Commission The City of Sandusky is a place that I like to call home for myself, many friends and family. Growing up in a water front community has afforded many opportunities for work and play. Enjoying the many parks located directly on the water has been a blessing. Lions Park, Shoreline Park, Sandusky Bay Pavilion and Battery Park are places to enjoy family time as well as a beautiful back drop of the Sandusky Bay. We have recently added the Paper District Marina to our team of water front properties, where our community members can enjoy more breathtaking views of our waterfront. Jackson St. Pier, Meigs St. Pier and Washington St. Pier are amazing places for fishing, bird watching and sightseeing. We also have a Boat Launch that is free of charge at the foot of Shelby Street. Our Recreation Team, led by Supervisor Victoria Kurt, has also put together many programs and special events. Huron, Lions, Farwell and Foxborough Parks hold daily kids programs and craft tables, where kids can enjoy learning and playing in our own backyards. Paper District Marina has movie nights and special events held all summer long. We also have Mills Creek Golf Course which has 9 holes of fun and excitement. Huron and Lions Park are also home to our “splash pads” for the hot summer days. This year is our 25th year as Tree City U.S.A. This along with our Greenhouse program, has me excited about the future of our City. I take great pride in being a leader of this community and all of the programs and special events that take place. I look forward to seeing everyone around, as we enjoy everything that the City of Sandusky has to offer.
